After the chat M amd his ex had, I assumed there would be a tripod scene, instead we see Todd taking the baseball bat instead of displaying it.

Well, you get what you deserve. I lolled when I saw Homelander simply turn to the crew and go "splots them".
My *only* gripe of this scene is how Homelander basically treated the other supes (minus Noir) as his goons. My boy is better than that.
I never really understood why he fell for the Homelander propaganda. Guy has a step daughter that loves him, a hot wife, seems pretty well off, actually somewhat friends with the ex husband. Not sure why he got down the extremist rabbit hole.
A lot of extremists actually come from well-off backgrounds. I've seen the theory postulated that being well-off makes them bored, so they seek stimulation elsewhere, in this case extremism.

Regardless, (for me at least) it's hard to feel bad for someone who cheers for murder.
