Before I had a 4” butterfly valve it was 4 scoops from the bucket then close it off and wait about an hour for it to calm down. Now I still only do 4 scoops and just close the valve and wait about an hour so all the hops don’t come out the blowoff.

If I'm doing it I'll purge real quick thru the racking arm and let the co2 in suspension go wild. The other guys drop the first bag close it up let it go then drop the other bags

We had a couple of tanks that only had a 2 inch hole for adding dry hops. Generally we used these for non hoppy beers but on a rare occasion they were all that was available and we had to add 5kg using a funnel and poking stick.... Didn't work. We managed to get the cap back on, but not the clamp. We opened up the bleed line to slowly bleed off pressure and finally managed to get the clamp back on about 20 mins later. Both of us soaked head to toe and probably 3 kegs down the drain. Probably didn't help we were filling the fermenters far too full also....
