Therefore I called it, I predicted it a full day before it was mentioned anywhere that would be the topic of the episode. This has got to be one of the worst interactions I've ever had on this website, I had no idea someone could get so mad over you calling something that they make up lies about you being a racist. Do you know if there's any way to get this guy banned from here or something? I'm really really uncomfortable with someone going around claiming I'm some kind of nutjob. To be fair he didn't (and I don't think he ever has) streamed that Horse Prince game but they still made an episode out of that for some reason. I still have no idea why they chose that for an episode, but not EVERY episode is taken from his streams. Considering how bad the Horse episode was though I think maybe they should stick to whatever Mike's doing as clearly he's better at choosing interesting games

Oh for sure, gamer was always a term, but not EVERYONE who played games referred to themselves as a gamer the way they do now, like now I feel in the past 20 years it's become an umbrella term that encompasses everyone who plays games. Maybe I'm wrong on this but I feel like the term "gamer" used to be used more for people who were hardcore about it. I just did a quick Google search and apparently as early as 1981 the term "newbies" was being used to refer to more casual players, which obviously evolved into terms like "n00b" and such. And in that movie The Wizard they don't use the word "gamer" once despite it being a movie about a kid who's really good at videogames, I think they just call him a Nintendo wizard. Like of course gamer was always a term, it's been a term even before videogames existed, but not in the same context it is now.
