aclimbingturkey

First company that came to mind. Always had insane materials.

Walkindayed

Its nice to hear that that was recognized. I was really particular about fabrics and make even when there were a chorus of people around me telling me that shit didn't matter.

tofucrisis

I found one of these shirts thrifting awhile back.

Walkindayed

This is nice to see. Thank y'all.

Alife

BigDez2021

I loved alife till I bought a pair of shoes n they broke in 2 days

TheTousler

Gant Rugger - a subline of Gant. Still have a couple of shirts. Also Robert Geller

Laui_2000

Gant Rugger was amazing. I have so many shirts from them. Even after Chris Bastin handed the reins over to Fifi it was still good. The stuff that Gant pumps out nowadays even with Chris Bastin at the helm of the entire brand… meh. Lots of nostalgia for Gant Rugger - it was one of the brands that I liked when I first got into menswear.

BootyOnMyFace11

I like 50% of the new Gant stuff. You can tell what pieces were designed by Christian & co and what are just generic permanent pieces. He did tell me they would update the collar for a proper button down🦧🦧

thelivingmountain

Worked at Gant Rugger in the 2010's - I loved it and have a lot of fond memories and nostalgia for that era!

jslee0034

Never got to own it because I was a broke high school student but I really wanted hood by air. Thought it was the coolest thing anyone can wear.

pcomet235

ASAP Rocky killed it with one bar

jslee0034

Oh what happened. I just saw bunch of rich cool kids wearing it and I just wanted one bad to fit in. Haha

whhhhiskey

“HBA shit is weak you can keep that”

randy1000000

rugby rl - allover embroidered skull chinos were my top flex back in the day

coocookuhchoo

Bought a few things from them off the clearance rack in high school. Loved going to their Georgetown store.

swagnigha

i would look at these everyday wishing i had the money to buy these back in the day

ArthurFistMeme

it died after virgil bought out all the flannels 😢

AmericanFlagPants

I wasn't a big Mishka wearer but god knows I stalked the Bloglin relentlessly for the music they promoted

LakeGladio666

They covered my music a few times and I was so excited when they did.

guysiah

fax, that's where I discovered radiohead, the weeknd, death grips, and danny brown. good times

GoinStraighttoHelles

Mishka blog was so good. They were talking about Action Bronson and the Weeknd when it was just mixtapes and shit

cparex

found a NDG piece in a shop recently. really brought me back

ozwegoe

what happened to The Hill-Side- seemed like they were killing it off the Gap collab

cartiercockring2

Undftd was a really cool brand, i liked the logo and my cousin had this varsity style hoodie w a native on it that i was always jealous of. Just looked at their site, seems theyre doing good but u dont really see it anymore

smcl2k

I think they still working with Nike on a pretty regular basis - I picked up a pair of their Chucks a while ago.

dragkamp

Bought a sweatshirt from them about 7-8 years ago and it has held up great. Probably one of my most worn garments. Just a regular sweatshirt with a small chest logo

cartiercockring2

They dont make em like they used to, i swear. I have an old huf godzilla v kong shirt from around the same time that has held up amazing and probably still my most complimented shirt

TalesFromTheThriftJZ

Blvck Scvle I used to love some of their tees and hats… I def rocked some Mishka back in the day too and before all that kr3w their jeans were my shit

burnersburneracct

I’ll never understand why Blvck Scvle didn’t keep accelerating in to more than a niche brand.

cparex

loved Blvck Scvle. i remember visiting their store in san francisco and thinking it was so dope.

GoinStraighttoHelles

Yeah but times have changed, women aren’t rocking AA like they used to

notxrbt

True

masiavelli

I miss when bands used to print merch on AA blanks

jdixon1974

Hugo Boss. 35 years ago, it was made in Germany and built to last a long time. I used to work at a men’s clothing store in the late 80’s and it was great stuff. I still have a cotton sweater that has been washed hundreds of times and still hanging in there. Things fell apart in the late 90’s and it’s been downhill since then.

ThroJSimpson

It’s crazy the grip they still have on people in Europe. Expensive clothing for people with no interest at all in clothing.

StrandedJupiterian

The hundreds

ArthurFistMeme

prime hundreds was when fairfax was poppin. that whole street in 2011-2014 was too fun

amedema

I had some shoes in college that I absolutely adored. Never saw them again after that.

morechitlins

They still seem to put out decent stuff, but man, they fell off hard.

JoeyIsMrBubbles

My man

Robinhoyo

Duffer of St George was majorly influential for a lot of British brands and I used to love going to the Covent Garden shop. Then it got sold to JD Sports and turned into a cheap knock off.

Otherwise-Holiday445

This article about them is pretty interesting https://www.telegraph.co.uk/men/fashion-and-style/10810931/Whatever-happened-to-Duffer-of-St-George.html

brainiacdumbdumb

Ssur, sarcastic, gimme five, Natural Born, Silas, PERKS & mini. Is 2k still around?

HABITATVILLA

Fuck. Haven't thought about SSUR in a very, very long time. Thank you for this. I know all the other brands in your list pretty well \[SILAS is a personal favourite\], except for 2k. What was their deal?

brainiacdumbdumb

2k (gingham) was a Japanese brand of tees that featured various streetwear/post graff artists like even hecox, Barry, Mcfetridge, Kevin Lyons and others from the beautiful losers era as well as more historical iconoclastic artist and designers like Milton glaser or Basquiat. Less of a brand I guess but the graphics were often stellar and the tee shirts themselves were super premium. Still have a few in the crates. Pre internet days. Sigh.

Yung_Jose_Space

PAM still exists. Still as interesting. Plenty of niche colabs with strange Japanese zines and artists. It seems like their main market(s) stayed Japan and the East Coast of Australia.

CSti21

Milkcrate and Durkl are my shouts. Not sure if either exist anymore but damn that brings back memories. Also, peace to Mishka.

morpheustwo

Im serious there were kids on the hypebeast forums in like 2013 that were doing it. hidden characters is top and will always be doing good things. julio from The Heated Environment was sewing the craziest tees by hand. HEAVROLET, PHNTM MRSC, Jessica were all so sick. SYSTEM USA put out two things and I still wear the hoodie to this day. What a good time for small streetwear folks.

magzex

This has reminded me of Ronin Division

Fortehlulz33

Let he without sin cast the first Stone. We all browsed Karmaloop. Everyone has a brand we all fucked with that was mallcore or something along those lines. The first "piece" I ever bought was Staple Pigeon.

JoeyIsMrBubbles

Karmaloop was goated back in the day

I’m blanking on the brand. They sold it at Zumiez. Green apple? (Something) Apple? I must’ve had every shirt they did. It was (from what I can recall) 2 dudes who made their designs off psychedelics, a garage startup that found their way into skate shops. Pretty cool trippy artwork on T’s. LRG, neff, both had some funky shit to snowboard in too. Early 2000’s I was dripped. Had hella Bapes and Ice cream shoes too lol

Cassette Playa I’d lump it in with Mishka, 10deep and the other early streetwear brands. This was poppin during the peak bloghouse era. Lots of neon and patterns. Corpus was also fire. I still have a quilted leather bomber from them.
