Lot of weird takes in this comment section. He’s a fat her and his kids are making a dumb joke. He shouldn’t be getting this upset and angry about something stupid. Every time I see people get angry like this over nothing I seriously worry
Honestly, this doesn't seem bad at all to me. The kids are all super comfy and even the mom's laughing, you can hear how they're enjoying it. There's no fear, dudes communicating his frustration, sure he's yelling but dudes aware and openly telling them. Notice how he changes immediately? It wasn't real anger as much as being upset as he states once he gets the right word out. Dudes frustrated about not being in on the joke which i feel has happened to everyone at some point.
As soon as he's realized the joke his whole demeanor changes, he understands, dudes even like taking the whole blame. This is a healthy family.
Yes, that was the best part about it, to me. He was so mad, and totally free expressing it, and they weren’t scared. And when he got it he did immediate reversal and laughed with them. That family has some good juju ♥️
I understand, it wasn’t very fun for me to watch either. I grew up in a household where an angry father was scary, and no one else was allowed to express anger, or even upset or frustration. That screws up communication dynamics for life unless you get some therapy and work it out. In this family, even as the dad is expressing emotion he is also explaining where he is on the scale, and they clearly aren’t afraid of him. They do keep pushing for the sake of the joke and he gets very frustrated, but in the end “they’re all friends” - overall it’s way way healthier than what I grew up with.
I feel the first part of what you said completely, that's how it was for me with my dad even if we loved each other. And yeah maybe they know when he is truely mad so they weren't scared here cause they knew he wasn't at that level where they go "oh shit, he is mad mad now" and take it seriously.
The best and worst part about growing up and meeting new people was realizing that most of my friends grew up in families where their parents never got "truly mad." I grew up in a very chaotic household, learning to navigate my parents moods. I have 2 other friends who were in similar situations, but the rest of them never dealt with half the stuff we did.
It's a sobering realization that the way you grew up isn't what most people experience, but it also gives you some hope for the future. That you can be better to the people around you than your parents were to you.
Same. If this was me and my siblings and our dad, the *minute* he started raising his voice, the joke would’ve been over and we would have stopped. God help us if it managed to reach the point where he had to *tell us* that he was getting mad. We knew from experience that that was not a point we wanted to get to. So yeah. As someone with an abusive father who would have pinned me to the ground for making him look like a fool, yeah, I couldn't watch this without my fight or flight activated.

No, there’s literally non verbal cues that he is actually angry like spit coming out his mouth and he has to inconspicuously wipe it away and the lip shake when he yells. It’s all very real. The family is ass towards him because he is verbally letting them know he is getting upset severely times and they don’t respect his boundaries. It’s literally bullying at this point.
Coming from a family that 100% ignores my feelings and explicit statements (aka "I really honestly am mad, please stop"), the moment he stated he's not calm anymore hit different.

I’m only a dentist, but I see the onset of a pretty drastic class 3 jaw relation occurring that orthodontics can’t touch. He even has macroglossia..poor guy.
I've been diagnosed with acromegaly due to a tumor and after 3 surgeries and 2 years of chemo, I'm still struggling to keep my IGF levels low (or in accordance with what's appropriate for my age). Thankfully it hadn't progressed to cause any deformities to my face or anywhere else really but the size of my feet and hands has really grown to the point where I find it extremely difficult to find well fitting shoes or rings. Thanks for sharing about the disease and warning someone in good faith. Its not the most deadliest of diseases but it causes great discomfort and pain and I hope this man is able to seek treatment should he be diagnosed with it.
It's insulin growth factor. A hormone responsible for growth of bones and muscles. It spikes during puberty and usually comes down around late teen years. Hence the growth spurt. My IGF at 22 was three times the normal level. I was later diagnosed with a brain tumor in my pituitary gland (which produces IGF) and the tumor was aggravating IGF production.
Frontal bossing is completely absent though. As an anesthesia doctor all I see is a difficult intubation minus acromegaly. Good on you for keeping an eye out though I'd test anyone remotely syndromic just in case as their glycaemic control is atrocious.

Yeah, im not a smart guy, and my stupidity frustrates me . These types of jokes fool me as well, and I get really upset about it. So this kinda upsets me that they don't drop the joke either. This dude looks like he has a very similar personality than my father and when he said "I'm actually getting mad" and saw his body language I felt really bad about him. He meant what he said, and it wasn't nice of his family to keep the joke for as long as it lasted. My mother used to do that to my father (trying to make him look stupid), to be fair my father isn't the sharpest tool in the shed, but he's a chill and simple guy who's afraid of what he doesn't understand and expressed that fear as anger.
