We never learn the “proper” way to flirt with somebody or approach them for sex the same way we learned how to greet somebody (extend your hand and say “nice to meet you”). There’s nothing like that, and as a result you get guys who say “fuck it, I’m just gonna try all the briefcases until something works.” I think catcalling also falls into this same category: do you expect the girl to fuck you? No. But she might if you let her know you’re interested. For what it’s worth, I’m a guy, and this is a male perspective.
