Strappimg was pissed-off prog with a dash of comedy. This is Devin being himself and dealing with his struggles in the form of puppets and lasers. The heviness is still there but also a blend of softer tunes like "Two Weeks" from *Alien*.
Hey if you like SYL try listening to An Infinite Illusion by Mean Messiah. It’s pretty much a copy cat band but if you like SYL I bet you’ll like them.
Agreed. It's so much fun and emotional at times in it's soundscapes. A meta rock opera about coffee, celestial destruction, and self reflection. All over some sick blast-beats and sweep arpegios. What more could your need?
I listen to Dev every day. Got to see him live last summer w/ Animals As Leaders & Dream Theatre. Amazing show, really cool nice dude too. Deadhead live will always be my favorite 🤟
I think it’s good too, like 80% worse than ZTO though.
Honestly it’s so much better with the Instrumental version, which is fucked up becuase that’s only available on CD as fast as I know
They hide their finest bean!
Hyperdrive is a masterpiece
Favourite song on that album as well.
All hail Ziltoid! Got to see Devin Townsend live last summer, absolutely phenomenal show.
How would you compare it to Strapping Young Lad?

I enjoyed the album well enough.
Yay

Very different, but imo it exceeds what SYL did
Nice, I'll give a listen now.
Love Hevy Devy. We had tickets to see him during the pandemic and of course it was canceled. One of many missed shows that year.
Devin is a genius, and this album is hilarious and great.
One of my most favorite albums. Very special. Hoping to find one on vinyl. I’ve got my cd signed by Gene if anyone wants to trade. ✌️❤️
Rapaz, eu adoraria um stand com o nome inspirado em Tool

Ziltoid is a nerd. A NERD!
My buddy is in to them. I just remember something about a black cup of coffee
FETID!
In general check out Devin Townsend. He's a kickass musician.
He's underrated and it's a shame
I don't wanna.

Made my trim team listen to this album last night. It's so good
Devin Townsend slaps
Ziltoid is a masterpiece. Ziltoid 2 is shit.

Yeah I think that's why I dislike 2. Maybe it wasn't shit but it sure felt like it when compared to Z1.
Thanks. I'll check it out. But you know I'll be returning too Tool 😉
