hmm thats quite the cool case for 120.... (a few clicks later...) It's full of fucking tools?????

Actionman1959

Full of snap on tools......

neKtross

Are they Shit or fantastic? I dont know them

dirt_shitters

They're the most expensive tool brand and hand tools have a lifetime warranty, no questions asked. I bent a screwdriver using it as a pry bar and got a free replacement. They are extremely high quality, but other tools can compete with them. Watch the YouTube channel  "project farm" reviews comparing the tool brands and snapon will often be at the top, while pretty much always being the most expensive

WildWalrusWallace

Young dumb apprentice at our shop wanted to pry something and asked for his his xl long flathead. "You sure you don't want your prybar?" (also Snapon) 'nope' --> snaps off at the handle. Our Snap On guy is really really cool with warranties but not for that one. Buddy also owed about $1000 in missed box payments so that miiiiight have played into it

dirt_shitters

If I didn't know I had the warranty in my pocket I wouldn't have done it haha. I also only did it cus I had the screwdriver within reach and didn't wanna walk back to my toolbox.

ruddy3499

I’ve never been denied a snapon warranty. No matter how stupid I was.

Scottyboy626

I was denied a warranty one time. My gf's uncle gave me a broken snap-on ratchet from the 50s or so, knowing I worked in automotive and could get it repaired. Showed the snap-on guy, thinking I might get some crazy reaction cause he was younger.. Nope, he said, "Can't do it, but I can take a few dollars off a new one." "Nah, I'll keep using a square bit to change the settings." I told the Matco guy in passing, and he was like, "Let me borrow it, and I'll see if one of my buddies can repair it. The next week, he came in, and it was fully functioning. It is still one of my favorite tools to this day cause it was a gift and it's smaller for tighter spaces.

Publicgaamer

Pretty much the best hand tools you can find but they expensive asf

icysandstone

Layperson here, what makes them so good versus, say, DeWalt hand tools. (Which in my experience are nice)

HairyResin

Cold forged hi-grade stainless. Snap on will never snap from too much torque. Not an issue for layperson but your average diesel truck mechanic will definitely go through "cheap" hand tools like disposable chopsticks if they aren't high enough quality.

icysandstone

Thanks for the reply. Curious, what’s the story with cold forging? Assume that makes it stronger, but why isn’t everything cold forged? And why are diesel truck mechanics breaking tools so often?

pumperdemon

Cold forging high-grade steel is VERY difficult. Low carbon mild steel when cold is pretty damn tough to do anything with hand forging, and you cant even make an effective hobby grade auto tool with it. High carbon, chrome vanadium, high alloy steel can't even be dented by hand. It requires heavy machinery just to do the work, and the dies required to get the right shape tend to wear out quickly. Even hot forging is tough with this material. Cold forging introduces internal stresses that act in tension to make the tool stiffer than if it were hot forged; good for tools but not for other things.

Q-burt

Found the Snapon guy!

dingus_45

Diesel mechanic here. Everything is bigger in this world nuts and can get as big as your average arm. The torque Spec tractor trailer wheels alone is 500 ft lbs. High quality tools make the job easier and faster. And easier and faster typically mean more $$$ in your pocket.

laundry_sauce666

I would assume the reason not everything is cold forged is the same for any other industry in our society: it costs more upfront to make better quality things and you’ll make more money over time selling shitty products anyways. Snap on probably doesn’t have anywhere near the amount of repeat customers as craftsman or dewalt.

JazzioDadio

Build quality and lifetime warranty on all their hand tools

Huge-Ad-2275

Nothing really beats their hand tools. Their pneumatic stuff can be hit and miss.

Useful-Internet8390

They come with a financing plan- so you can work for the truck for the first 28 years of being a mechanic.(The truck is the truck that pulls up to your shop once every two weeks and makes your wife think you have a second wife.)

deep-fucking-legend

There's a missing tool. Worthless. I'll offer scrap value.

Toomullawisky

Let me guess the 10 mm socket

Cold_Pomelo3274

Surprisingly No, it’s still there.

RedSh1r7

That's how you know the post was AI generated.

Faithinreason

Or a Mimic. This would totally pass as a modern treasure chest.

whitesissyloserboi

Replacing players' adventuring tools with mimics 😈 Love the idea of a spell tome or thieves tools mimic Edit: adventuring not advertising lol

Oraxy51

Make the rope a mimic and wait for the next time they mention the use of rope. Have them fight 4 mimics and at one point in the fight there’s now one missing, reveal months later.

[deleted]

"Roll a perception check" *failed* "What was it for?" "Oh, *nothing*"

Level37Doggo

Ok, I know this toolbox just bit off one of my hands, but I’ve got one more and I could really use that new ratchet set, so I think I’m gonna give it another shot.

Kooky_Ad_7664

Don't show Frieren

Onedtent

It's a trap!

KotzubueSailingClub

It's probably missing the hex that fits garbage disposals

azathoth

It's there but only when you aren't looking for it.

Dr_Corn_Pop

Always find mine in the little slant drawer, usually when I’m putting the new one in there.

Much-Meringue-7467

Schroedinger's nut.

TooManyNissans

The missing tool is just out living it's best life by becoming FOD in an aircraft engine somewhere

Nebulous_Fart

Haha it’s the shitty brush that gets ruined immediately though. Not having it is kind of a bonus 👍

ridik_ulass

the empty case is like 500$

ResissssterAnderson

The dust on the case alone is $87.

UnstableDimwit

But the rude comment written in the dust is priceless street art.

ViralDownwardSpiral

It's a Banksy. Or might as well be.

UpvoteForHarambe

$500?

KUbandGang

More like 600$.

ishpatoon1982

$600?

TheZo96

More like 700$.

urGirllikesmytinypp

Sometimes $800

Downserver

As long as the case contains all the 10mm's, you're sitting pretty good

SSGSEVIER54

Last I checked, those exact mechanics tool kits were costing the military $6K.

evelbug

That nsn has been canceled, the replacement nsn is showing $1,780 ETA My bad, that item is a good nsn. The one that was $1780 is a canceled one that this kit replaced. According to fedlog this nsn is good and costs the army $2,239

SSGSEVIER54

That’s quite a contrast. Curious as to how they slashed so much off from model to model

Secret-Ad-7909

No one was buying it, so they went for the 200% of cost price.

Cixin97

500%*

GlattesGehirn

Doesn't matter when you're selling it to the military. When I order tools and boxes for my squadron, I don't even look at price.

[deleted]

boredofthis2

Just oversight by people who feel they have to spend every last dollar in their budget. I remember at the end of the fiscal year supply asking people for their wishlist.

pfft_master

“I wish to give the money back to taxpayers, we certainly haven’t earned an unlimited budget while many die needlessly in our county due to unmet needs”

TapZorRTwice

Hahahahah like the military would ever admit they don't need the budget that they have.

drakoman

Lmao I think that phrase is in the book under “court martial-able phrases”

alex206

If you don't spend your allotted budget they'll reduce it next year. It makes it so that there is no need to be cost conscious. End of the fiscal year we are scrambling to buy TVs so that we hit our budget. It's dumb as fuk.

[deleted]

And weirdly common. Basically punishment for being efficient with money

Halftrack_El_Camino

Well, Snappy's profit margins have gotta be in the multiple hundred percentage range, based on what they normally charge. They're probably still making a pretty normal amount of per-unit profit for any other tool company, selling at 1/4 their previous price.

Aimbot69

Fastenals markup is cost x 709% = normal retail price. It's crazy what some of the markups are.

omgzzwtf

Company I work for pays $34 for a roll of yellow tape…

OutWithTheNew

Company I work for pays \~$3000 a season to rent a $2000 quicky saw. Then half of them get stolen, so we probably end up paying for the whole saw again. We rent about 5 of them a season. A lot of our shit is old and has one foot in the grave, but we'll spend thousands extra on renting quicky saws for no good reason.

FesteringNeonDistrac

What the hell is a quicky saw?

OutWithTheNew

Handheld, gas powered concrete saw. [https://www.husqvarna.com/ca-en/power-cutters/k770/](https://www.husqvarna.com/ca-en/power-cutters/k770/)

Nicholas_Cage_Fan

Right? I call them demo saws but also have heard people call them road saws or just concrete saws. Quicky saw is new to me lol

Aimbot69

The highest markup I saw was on this tiny set screw that was almost impossible to find anywhere else, a local business used about 30k of them a month, and it had a 1500% markup, cost was like 1.3ish cents, sold for 20 cents a piece retail, negotiated price was 12 cents a piece.

ZamboniRoom

If it’s the tape we use for asbestos prep, that yellow tape is worth every penny

m_ttl_ng

They offer a lifetime guarantee so they have to factor replacement costs in there, I guess.

Halftrack_El_Camino

On the other hand though, this kit looks legit as fuck. I mean, just *look at it*.

TheTimn

Where in the hell are you getting a number like that?

iHateMyUserName2

Different manufacturers. Standard GMTK is a mix of different makers (Proto, Crescent, etc).

[deleted]

[удалено]

iHateMyUserName2

I’ll be honest, I think Proto is every bit as good as Snapon. Thats weird that replacements wouldn’t be Snapon. Are you talking about in your GMTK or your shop work bench?

[deleted]

iHateMyUserName2

KRA box? Like an old school red steel box? You’d love a GMTK if that’s the case haha

[deleted]

GandhiOwnsYou

I was an Army aircraft Mechanic with proto tools back in the late 2000’s, the proto stuff was SHIT. It was constantly broken and took forever to get replacements. I don’t know about the snap-on the army ordered but I’ve been using the same snap on stuff in my personal box for a decade and other than the odd ratchet rebuild or rounded Allen, the stuff has been extremely durable. I once went through 3 proto ratchets in a single deployment, so I don’t think highly of them.

formerwarrior96

Snapon stuff grows legs. Gets worse once it’s deployed bc it “gets lost in the sand”. I used to sell tool kits to the military and was told by many contracting officers to offer anything other than snapon when the prints say “or equivalent” otherwise it will get passed over for consideration.

ItsVishuss

Well yes, that’s how government acquisitions works. You can’t specifically state “snap on”, it has to describe the tool in detail. Odds are, most of those contracts are “lowest price technically acceptable”. So as long as it meets the buy American act and other laws and regulations, it won’t matter the brand. And no KO (contracting officer) is going to file a justification and approval to purchase just snap-on exclusively as that’s an easy way to get an award or solicitation protested. Edit: I’m a contracting officer for the DoD, this is the process, no need for downvotes.

GoldPotential6298

Agree with everything you said except for one clarification. Socom KO’s almost always file the sole source J&A to justify the name brand (snapon, etc) when requested by their customers because sometimes the “or equivalent” just isn’t up to terms of quality when buying LPTA.

ItsVishuss

Oh man, SOCOM is a whole different can of worms and have their own regulations governing what they can do. I’ve never been close to that world but I would love to break into it one day. They’ve got things simplified and are the masters at “this is what I need and I need it NOW.”

SaboLeorioShikamaru

As much as I know military people and civilians working for the military exist (as I am one of those)... I'll always do a double take seeing my work lingo outside of work. Like, it's very inconsequential, but just seeing "nsn" in a non-work setting makes me feel like when you'd see your elementary school teacher at the grocery store as a kid

455HRSPRS

I’m not an auto tech, i’m a fabricator by trade. Worth keeping around or selling, you think?

whyugettingthat

Man keep it. I’d keep it even if i used it once a year only. This whole kit at 120$ is absolutely a trophy

DopeRidge

Hell yeah keep it! You couldn’t even get the same set at Harbor Freight for $120.

sageofwinds0

Just a 5 stage cart, air impact driver, set of sockets for 1/2" and 3/8ths, pliers and screwdrivers, a master funnel cost me 466 from Harbour freight. And I still feel like I'm just barely scrapping by where tools are concerned. Matco ran me my first week for a digital psi Guage, tread depth Guage, brake depth guage, filter clamp, and pen light for relatively the same price. All in all avoid the tool trucks if you can. That case full of all that for 120 is a great find, those tools will last longer than you and I. Better to have and not need than to need and not have. Trust me

Cixin97

He could sell it for way more though and buy stuff he needs or even buy the same tools different brand for 1/4 the price.

FlekZebel

My rule of thumb for items that I consider selling: If I can sell this for (let's say) $1000. Would I pay $1000 to buy this (if I didn't already have it)? If the answer is "no", sell it. If the answer is "yes", keep it.

owlthegamer

If you will use it, keep it

-E-Cross

If you need money and don't need tools. Sure. But these are tools you can keep for life and get replaced.

st3vo5662

I’ve been lurking these kits for years since I’m a mobile tech. Ngl, I wish I was you and snagged that for the price you did. I’d probably ride the high of happiness on that for a good while. I see them on eBay regularly asking 2-4k ish usually with varying tools included. Very nice fuckin score OP, I’m jealous

desexmachina

I'd never get rid of it. I've had one for years, easy to transport in a trailer or the back of the truck and you have a little bit of everything you need. I used to bring mine in the race trailer.

TheFingeringLakes

Ain't worth keeping. Sure they are nice tools with a lifetime warranty, but you will get 80% quality for 20% of the price. Sell it and be happy that you made the best flip of your life. Buy some decent quality tools as you need them and you will come out ahead by thousands Where was this auction?

shittysmirk

See that’s what I would do, then bitch about letting them go in 10 years

Man-e-questions

Actually kind of surprised they didn’t have a massive up charge since military. I remember hearing about ashtrays on military planes costing $10k etc

steik

Yeah but those ash trays are custom fab for that plane alone. I'm not certain but I don't think any of these tools are special order and it's just a special kit of existing mass manufactured tools?

F-21

> Yeah but those ash trays are custom fab for that plane alone. Still needs to be a really massive piece of carbon fibre or custom milled aluminium to cost $10k. I wonder what the real reason is because custom fabrication is nowhere near *that* expensive.

dawiyo

The ash tray doesn’t cost $10k. The government contractor with people who are cleared to look at plans for said aircraft, and the manufacturers that are cleared, and the suppliers that are cleared, that whole process is $10k. Cleared civilian personnel don’t come cheap. I’ll give you an example. One day, the lock broke to the secure room we worked out of. We all had to stay behind to safeguard the room. The locksmith charged $4k to come and replace the lock. Obviously, the lock didn’t cost $4k, but his top secret clearance did.

LiqvidNyquist

Some poor schmuck is still making payments on that

roccoccoSafredi

Yeah, and that poor schmuck is us.

ifxor

Oh no, some poor schmuck E-3 lost that somehow and is paying the govt back outta every paycheck 😭

Kuriente

We've had stuff like this stolen by airline baggage handlers when our mechanics fly commercial. It's a whole process getting the airline to reimburse the military. Non-zero chance this kit was stolen.

wetblanket68iou1

This is it. Fuggin dude lost his hand receipt and supply fucked him.

JeebusCrunk

My coworker's SnapOn box cost more than I paid for my BMW. But he did get pretty sweet ***"free"*** hat with it..

[deleted]

This has real “fell off the truck” vibes

ribrickulous

What kind of auction? Government surplus? Always curious how people find these.

jake55555

[govplanet is one place. Some of the stuff is decent if you’re close, but a lot of it is bulk orders or verge large items](https://www.govplanet.com/)

LahngJahn69420

Website legit, I used to work for them. Saw everything come through from toolkits like above to medical chairs to 1500 grenade pouches to 5 winter shirts to 3 diesel generators

pinche_avocado

Is everything they sell in working condition or as is?

003402inco

Everything is sold as is. It’ll usually have the condition of the item in the description. They usually do pretty good job of describing the item and what’s wrong with it.

breen_bean

Can anybody buy or do you need to a govt employee? Some serious arbitrage opportunity on there

Gratefuldeadguy

Is that website legit?

jake55555

As far as I am aware it is. I know a guy in my unit used to buy pallets full of pelican cases from there.

n3w4cc01_1nt

is the guy swimming in a vault of resale profits like scrooge mcduck?

Rat_King1972

During Covid I used to buy lost/abandoned/tsa confiscated items and resell them. Sunglasses, knives, bicycles. Stopped when I realized I’d have to pay taxes if I made anymore money

Gaybuttchug

How

Rat_King1972

Gov planet. Government surplus auction site. They had certain confiscated items for auction. TSA knives sold by the pound

Gaybuttchug

Wow thank you

clark_kent88

A coworker turned me on to govplanet and govdeals. He bought from both. I have bought from govdeals.

RetMech

It's as legit as you can get. It's all milsurp and DRMO. Most of the yards where you pick up are close to military bases. Be warned, if you buy something out of state, it can be pretty expensive to arrange for shipping.

Mrlin705

Lol why is there a 2016 camero for $3k?

fourtyonexx

You wanna buy a used camaro that was hooned on by some boots?

AdamBlaster007

Honestly? Sure. But seeing as there is no response from the engine means it could be anything from a dead battery all the way to a busted engine. They claim they visually inspected it, but I wonder if they even remove the engine cover...

Sonarsup1934

I buy stuff all the time from govplanet. Individual locations are hit and miss. Chambersburg and Nevada are the most organized and easiest to deal with. Have picked up at about 8 locations.

ModernT1mes

I just found a general mechanics kit that looks really similar to what OP posted starting bid at $5 around me. Doesn't look like snap-on though.

Denim_briefs

How come no one else at the auction could figure out it’s worth 50x that.

Crcex86

Op drowned them all in the bathroom sink

Available_Gains

"Auction"

DaveAndJojo

Bro walked up to someone pick up truck and made a silent bid

JustEatinScabs

Because that's how auctions work. Op got lucky and none of the people bidding were that excited about tools to jack up the price. Happens all the time. I've gotten great deals at auctions just because the crowd was old or has very specific interests and didn't give a shit about what I was bidding on.

lordaddament

I need to find some auctions. I thought it was like eBay where it was basically impossible to get a good deal

qning

Drive around back roads in the US. Look for broke-down signs that say things like: Flea Market Sunday Square Dance Friday Auction Saturday And go there on Saturday

chibbly_

And miss the square dance?

StrangelyGrimm

I'm going to give OP the benefit of the doubt and assume that the bidders couldn't check inside the case and thus were taking a gamble as to whether or not it still had all (if any) tools still in it.

SnooCupcakes9745

This is one of those, "you're f\*\*\*ing with us, right?" posts. If I came across this for $120 at a garage sale, I'd feel way too guilty and would have to at least double it. At an auction? I'd be giddy every time I used (or even looked at) them for years.

HereForTools

All the years…

BadBoyJH

I was thinking (admittedly in AUD not USD) that it was probably a fair price. Then I scrolled to the other photos, and saw it wasn't just the case.

InjuriousPurpose

>Then I scrolled to the other photos, and saw it wasn't just the case. Unappreciated pun there.

ringdingdong67

Definitely seems like something a widow would sell at a garage sale having no clue what it’s worth.

DRlFTW00D

As an auctioneer for a federal agency, this is an everyday occurrence. Last week I was selling Oshkosh aircraft refueling trucks for $200 a pop. The 12 valve Cummins in each truck was worth $5k lol

OperatorJo_

You have $3k to $5k there. Literal borderline theft at that price and that's not even an old kit.

HearingNo4103

wow....Impressive I wonder who that kit was designed for. Random guess assuming it's all Snap on.... $3-5k. There's alot here. Even the foam inserts have value. You'd make more parting it out, sheet by sheet.

Alakarr

It's a General Mechanics Tool kit. Would be issued to any of the Army 63 series MOS's - Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic, Heavy Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic, etc., as well as any other MOS doing vehicle maintenance.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Alakarr

I'm old. It was 63 series in the 90's. I was a 45B, which is now 91F. Don't know why they changed them all, but they did.

RetMech

I don't remember exactly when it happened, but I'm pretty sure they went from the 63 series to 91 sometime between 2008 and 2010. I remember they condensed the Sierras and Bravos together into all wheel vehicle mechanics instead of light and heavy. My guess is a full bird put together an elaborate power point presentation that would last several days on changing things up so he could get his star.

iHateMyUserName2

I enlisted in ‘09 and they told me it had just been changed. Not 100% sure, but some of my paperwork had 63B on it and the rest had 91B. So maybe ‘08 at the earliest?

DjNormal

Dang, I was a 67T/15T, my toolkit was a skimpy little thing compared to that. Well, skimpy until I had to drag that, my kit bag, my 240H, 400-1000rds of ammo, my ALSE gear, and the log book (laptop/case) to the aircraft by myself.

Alakarr

This made me laugh thinking back to deploying to the Gulf in 1990. Had my tool box, two foot lockers full of spare parts, my duffle, ruck, lbe, flack vest, helmet, protective mask, rifle, an M2 barrel and four sets of night vision googles. Was able to put the tools, spares parts and my duffle on a pallet, but everything else I had to keep with me. Climbing the ladder on a C5 up to the passenger compartment with that shit was a nightmare. Then sitting in a seat designed for a toddler for 12 hours with all that stuff made it the worst flight of my life. On top of that, the plane was loaded front to back with munitions; mostly small arms and land mines. If we had crashed the whole plane would have just been vaporized. Was with the 101st ABN, 2nd BCT advanced party. I had just PCS'd into the unit a week before. Nothing like getting settled into a new unit by deploying by myself. The rest of the battalion (and my shop) didn't show up for another three weeks.

DjNormal

I went from Basic to AIT to Germany to Iraq. Got there in January 2004, so I missed most of the deployment, but then got hit with the extension. I reenlisted to GTFO of Ft. Drum. I got Ft. Lewis, but they were also mid-deployment. I barely got my HHG in storage before my boots were back on the ground. Fortunately for me, all I had was two duffels, and a bugout bag. Aviation had its perks. The only time I got to ride along in strat air was for training. The Air Force politely told my unit they would not loan us C-17s to fly to JRTC. I may have mentioned to my XO that the Russians were leasing AN-124s… Lo and behold, that actually happened. 5 Blackhawks and half the tool room in each. The passenger compartment in those things was insanely cold. I had winter gear on and a blanket and it was too cold to sleep. 🥶

aco319sig

C-141 was like that too. Did a training mission in Russia back in ‘94. The plane ride there was the coldest I’d ever been.

455HRSPRS

I tried to see if the foam was removable but it looks like it’s glued in. How would the foam be worth something?

chillingwithyourmoms

That's laser cut foam to keep track of your tools, so nothing goes missing. I would not remove it since it has function and value. Very expensive to buy or to get done custom

AetyZixd

I designed the diagrams for these. A lot of the cost is in the design and engineering to get all of those tools to fit securely in one box. I would love to have one toolbox with a place for everything and everything in its place. They were definitely over $5k new, but they run about 10% of that used. You can find them new on eBay between $3500 and $7000. This guy was trying to sell some for $3850 recently: https://www.reddit.com/r/Tools/s/6y25oWBRcz

DALESR4EVER124

A lot. Like a LOT.

FistfulDeDolares

I’ll give you $125 for it

WildBill198

Don't listen to this guy, he is trying to scam you. I'll give $150 for it.

Schnoor

I’m wildly upset at your fortune, but that’s just my pure jealousy

Important-Specific96

You got the deal of the century.

constantlycarsick

These are absurdly expensive. Those modular kits sell for 5k-10k when new depending on whats in them. You got the deal of a lifetime

AcrobaticLong2958

since it's military we will never know

Oscaruit

Government contracts are usually considered open records. Just need to contact the acquisition activity and submit a request on the contract number. Contract number is on all mil std id plates. This one is from 2018 W56HZV-18-D-0079 This was procured on a , checks note, 56 million dollar contract.

prbrr

You can see the procurement order for this. The Army bought 2447 sets for $3,956,921.35 which means each one cost $1,617.05. https://www.highergov.com/document/08-17-22-w56hzv18d0079-do-w56hzv22f0418-pdf-aa5cc3/

BadBoyJH

Cost vs Value. We can know how much the government paid for it, but that doesn't mean it's worth that.

aco319sig

Well, the supply sergeant will know what the taxpayers paid, but otherwise, yeah. “We” won’t ever know.

whyugettingthat

Holy shit this is a steal and a half

Newfie-Decker

That's an AOG box! If you put it up for $600 I doubt it would last 6 hours

Asoza00

Wow I haven’t seen one of those in forever. I was a 1341 Diesel Mechanic in the USMC and I always wanted to snag one of those. We had them in schooling in Missouri.

jam-unam

Shut the fuck up really?almost makes me sick lol . I bought one from a guy for 2700. He told me he bought them in an auction also. He had multiple but idk what he paid

lilelvis81

$2300 was in charge of supply and signed for 13 of them. You got a great deal or DOD will be knocking on your door soon.

thorntron3030

Beautiful.

Shoddy_Seaweed_1102

Oh yeah, those are pretty worthless honestly. It’s best to just mail it to me. I’ll take care of it

Useful-Hat9157

No idea how much it's worth, buy you STOLE that at $120.

Pitiful_Speech2645

Since it has a NSN that kit is easily $8500

mondrager

I’ll give your $175 and not a penny more. Congrats.

If you piece the sets out on eBay you should be able to make over a grand I'd think. I've sold several wrench and socket sets and each one goes for $150-$200. The ratcheting wrench sets should pull $300 each easy. Dunno about the screwdrivers and adjustables and all that but there's no way I'd let this box go for $500-800. I'd buy it for that!
