I think if you go in expecting it to be less Lord of the Rings and more an actual derpy D&D campaign you’d have with your friends then yes. My only real Forgotten Realms knowledge is the first 10 or so Drizzt books so I didn’t personally know much about some of the locations they go to, but it was still a fun time and if you do know more then you’ll probably have fun with all the references.
Meanwhile I lost my shit over a blink and you’ll miss it reference to the old Saturday morning D&D cartoon.

Yes, he was never given a name before being sent to a cruel orphanage on a Hell planet to be raised as a soldier, where his jailer/caretaker/boot camp instructor (whose name, I shit you not, is *Granny Goodness*) gave him that mocking nickname after he got hurt trying to escape several times. Then he just took that as his actual name when he finally escaped and got to Earth.
Ironically i think he was suppose to be a peace offering, the leaders of both planets traded their children and while Orion was treated with love despite being the son of Darkseid, Scott was thrown in the worst orphanage in Apocolisp to be use as a weapon and later just to torture him, at least in his suffering he meet Barda, a girl that was brutally trained to be one of Darkseid's elite warriors, they both felt in love, escaped Apocolips and have a happy life, Scott even became friends with Orion, the baby that he was traded for
His superhero name is Mister Miracle, with the ability to escape from anything.

Both inhabitants of the planets are a species called “New Gods” and the planets exist outside the multiverse- traveling to other places and dimensions using devices called Mother Boxes to create portals known as Boom Tubes.
Due to the endless war two leaders decided to trade biological sons as a peace offering and treat them as they would treat their own, with Scott being the biological son of Highfather but raised by Darkseid. Scott was trained with the act of escaping, but he had a theatric personality and managed to be *too* good at escaping for Granny. One day he met up with one of the Female Furies, Big Barda, and the two fell in love- eventually being one of the few to manage to escape Apokolips to try and live a normal life together, with Scott becoming a stage magician as an escape artist performer.

One thing I really like about this series is that Ichikawa has slowly been catching up to her in height. It’s a small detail but it shows progression in more ways than just personality

I think it's pretty fun. It's got the accidental adventure energy you go in expecting from DnD.

The immortal guy with his goddess wife was the worst. She can alter her body at will, but i believe that once they officially got together, she decided to remain (or perhaps at his request) in a child-like form. So fukin weird.
