>*There’s more STDs out there than just what prep protects.*
**... and ALL of them cured with a short couse of anti-biotics.**
Of ALL the unprotected sex I had - pre-HIV - I never caught a ONE
So with PrEP I can return to those halcyon days.
Against a small threat of catching one of these 'inconveniences' I'm going with PrEP over going back to condoms.
Unless you plan on spending the rest of your life with this guy or plan on being fwb and not really fuck anyone else, never go bare. It's just a dumbass thing to do.
I’m on prep and take doxycycline PEP for the other STIs so I never use condoms. I also got the bexsero vaccine to help prevent gonorrhea. So far haven’t gotten any STIs since I started doxy and I’ve had quite a few hookups. Even before doxy I would rarely use condoms but would still get minor STIs from time to time which was a bit annoying.
There are ongoing clinical trials to determine just how much it actually helps with gonorrhea, but early results are promising and it’s a safe, established vaccine so we might as well get it!
Personally I don’t use condoms, doesn’t feel as good and no condom is so much better. That said however I’m on PrEP and I don’t do “random” hookups just regular fuck biddies / FWBs. Condoms turn me off.
But you gotta do what you are comfortable with.
I get that, I have occasionally hooked up in the past, but for me I’d rather keep it to oral sex and fooling around other ways, in that case. Save the anal for when I can do it raw lol but I get you want to protect yourself on hookups. Why I like regulars better lol
Ask an expert. Not guys on Reddit. Almost the entire point of an education is to stop living where your feelings run your life. This is not like making a choice over ice cream flavors. It's more like which train can get you to Paris. STDs rates are the highest in my lifetime. You are not choosing which shoes to dance in.
I’m on prep and bareback in most situations unless the guy really wants to use a condom. Never caught anything, but I have friends who have. Granted, I keep my standards high and have sex with much less sketchy characters than they do.
It’s a controversial topic but a personal decision you have to make; just have to weigh out the pros and cons and see where you land;
- HIV was a scourge in the LGBT community but with advances in modern medicine it can be kept in check or prevent transmission outright.
- Lots of STIs can be treated with a dose of antibiotics.
- But there are strains that are becoming antibiotic resistant as well.
- Condoms do not prevent/protect against every types of STIs.
And that’s just part of the picture - there may be social or cultural complications where taking extra precautions may not hurt.
If you’ve never gone bare on the initial contact, why change course? Is this a one time deal or do you see yourself meeting him again? Are you or he seeing others at the same time?
That's a personal decision based on what your risk level is at. You don't mention whether you're on prep, regularly tested and are up to date on your immunisations. If the answer is no to any of those, then I'd stick with the condoms. I'd go raw for a hookup because I take every other precaution (prep, shots, STI checks) to reduce my risk.
Seconded! I told my sex clinic this and they hooked me up with free Hep A Hep B and HPV immunisation and PrEP ^^ I still might keep my raw skin to those i know well and have a negative STI test
Tremendous. I'm also scheduled to get my 2nd monkeypox shot in a couple of weeks too. Apparently it's immunisation for life so I won't need to do it again.
Its never as good as without a condom. But with that being said, you can get used to using them and once you do it ain't all that bad. The feeling of relief in the days after of knowing that you were safe and probably haven't caught anything far out weighs the lingering thought of having caught an sti, at least in my opinion. That and usually guys last longer. If that's what ur looking for.
Fun fact: Gonorrhea has developed resistance to nearly all the antibiotics used for its treatment and we are currently down to one last recommended and effective class of antibiotics, cephalosporins, to treat this infection.
So... maybe use a fucking condom.
Condoms literally don’t change any “sensation” other than the mental “sensation” and getting hiv from some dude who will never talk to you again anyway is a far worse mental sensation
Unpopular opinion here but people worry to much about STIs. I’m lucky to live where prep is widely available and free. All other STIs are easily preventable/diagnosed/treatable. People die more from the flu than any other STI. Literally no one dies from them
Also, condoms are not that effective.
It’s just the stigma associated with them that’s the problem
I love bareback, would never advice raw fucking w random hookups though.
Try getting to know people w similar kinks, that's where the best fwb usually are, after that it's down to each own and each other.
I have a regular FB who I let go bare, hookups I'm going to play safe. I've received some great advice and I don't think there's any point risking it for a chocolate biscuit.
ALWAYS use a condom and test regularly when having non-monogamous sex. There’s more STDs out there than just what prep protects.

How much raw sex did you have?

OK thanks your right I do go bare with a more regular fuck buddy

Oh wow didn't know that was available amazing what modern medicine can do
I didn’t know about bexsero helping with gono. Running to get mine!

No comdom is definitely my preference but I'm looking at hooking up more

I'm an old dad and man,. I'm still alive because I was monogamous for 30 years. But before that I was Always careful. CONDOMS!!!!!
Going bare with a regular fuc buddy is okay, if You are his Only fuck friend!¡!!!!

use condoms for new hookups.

Depends on the bottom

Saying that I'm going to look into prep
Best decision to make imo. If you have it available, get it!
It is available to me and I've ordered it
I just ask myself ... "What would the Pope do ?"
The pope definitely takes it bare
[удалено]
I don't know whether testing is possible before are meet we're meeting Friday
[удалено]
I know I'm listening I think I'm going to do comdoms Friday and suggest both getting tested
I swore off condoms 20 years ago. In fact, I committed to not using condoms. Best decision I've ever made
Don't you worry about catching anything
I don't
Even before prep? And never caught anything?
