PastStructure7836

That's a vinyl version

RandomTeenager3

what is that Igor album cover šŸ˜

thepenisman25

I ong thought it was mista thug isolation at first

Flaky_Sea3615

Run the Jewels Aesop Rock Company Flow Brockhampton DJ Shadow Nujabes Massive Attack Clams Casino J Dilla Radiohead Gorillaz Mogwai

CyMSM

Most of them were already on my list to listen to lol

Factorem_salis

I second Nujabes, and if you like Nujabes check out Nitsua!

Waddle_Deez_Nuts69

I hate company flow. That style of rap sucks

R0NNOC148

If you like Pink Floyd listen to In the Court of the Crimson King

Solid_Illustrator640

Very basic but all good. Big L is a rec.

garlic-boy

Love big L as a rec. Underrated imo

Solid_Illustrator640

He is also the funniest imo. I feel like itā€™s like he is beefing the entire time with everybody so he says shit like ā€œand the shower the only time you get your dick wetā€

your_local_supplier

I mean he 13 it makes sense I wouldnā€™t expect him to have deep cuts taste that comes with years of listening

CyMSM

Alr which album should I start with tho

Solid_Illustrator640

Lifestyle of the Poor and Dangerous. And Illadelph Halflife by the Roots. Also Black Moon is another group. Souls of Mischief. De La Soul. All similar vibes to like a Tribe Called Quest.

Remarkable_Term3846

My advice: Explore music for yourself. Donā€™t rely so much on recommendations from the Internet.

Civil_Contribution64

Does is seem like he doesn't?

Remarkable_Term3846

No...seems like his music taste is a carbon copy of RYM or some other corner of the Internet

Civil_Contribution64

Had never heard of RYM but if liking all the Beatles' albums makes me uncool or an internet copy, I'm fine holding that. Idk when the anti-Beatles sentiment started but I think it's wack.

Remarkable_Term3846

It's Rate Your Music. I wasn't talking about the Beatles albums. I love the Beatles actually. I was mostly talking about the hip-hop albums that have been included here.

Civil_Contribution64

Oh, that's fair. I guess I just get defensive because I see a lot of people chalk their catalogue down to good old days'ing, when it is some of my (22) favorite stuff ever.

Remarkable_Term3846

That's cool. I was listening to Magical Mystery Tour and Let It Be recently. Great albums.

Consistent-Doubt964

Radiohead Ren The Blood Brothers Blonde Redhead The Books Elliot Smith Bright Eyes / Conor Oberst Deerhoof Battles Baths Tune-Yards Beach House Bjork Grizzly Bear Sufjan Stevens

[deleted]

Tame Impala and Daft Punk.

CyMSM

Alr which albums should listen to first from them

[deleted]

Well you've already heard Daft Punk production on Yeezus (On Sight, I Am A God, Black Skinhead and Send It Up) so I would say start with Homework and then go in chronological order. Their discography is quite varied. Once you've listened to their first three albums. Alive 2007 is a must listen. Especially if you didn't like Human After All and especially if you did.

[deleted]

I reckon for Daft Punk, your favourite will be Random Access Memories. It's very grand like MBDTF and TPAB. It's a "album album" based from funk, disco, progressive pop, electronic, and a bit of progressive rock.

Warm_Employer_6851

No way you 13 šŸ˜ when I was 13 I was listening to Disney music and Taylor Swift

Secret_Wheel7309

He included the fact that he was 13 to get comments like this lol Either way, good albums

Deathcamp is definitely my top three though. I might get called insane for this, but I personally think ā€œcherry bombā€ is the best

YES. Not best but soo underrated

BroSlash2785

The bridge with the ā€œYeah, yeah, yeahā€ makes me want to jump off of a bridge

EyeBallChili

Itā€™s very eclectic. Lots of good stuff. Def recommending: The Common Men - Let It Burn

CMC773

Youā€™ve probably listened to it already, but Because The Internet definitely matches up with ur taste imo

CMC773

We have almost the exact same taste when it comes to rap it seems so I hope you like these aswell

hektic24

Nah if MF DOOM is on there weā€™re all good fr

i_Exist_73

I love MF DOOM but Iā€™m mainly a metalhead, so Iā€™ll help you get into metal. Probably start with either black sabbathā€™s paranoid or master of reality, iron maidenā€™s number of the beast, system of a downā€™s toxicity, any of Metallicaā€™s first 5 albums or slipknots self titled album. My favourite metal albums are probably master of reality, symbolic by the band death, toolā€™s Ɔnima and megadethā€™s rust in peace.

CyMSM

Alr Iā€™ll try that out

i_Exist_73

AEnima is kinda proggy like DSOTM so that might be a good listen.

wishnotknewyourkiss

Not cooked, this is good! Listen to more of the native tongues stuffā€¦ jungle brothers, de la soul

Wolf and the 50 Cent. A lot of hip-hop albums you can only get bootlegs of for some reason. [You can buy Yeezus on Rollin Recs right now](https://rollinrecs.com/products/kanye-west-yeezus)

THE IGOR MOVIE MENTIONED??? THAT MOVIE WAS A FEVER DREAM

morph8hprom

Meh...I'm not a big fan of The Money Store. NLDW is my personal favorite with Exmilitary being a close second, then Government Plates. There's some songs on The Money Store I really like, but as a full album it just doesn't hit for me.

CyMSM

I still need to listen to their other albums, because outside of money store, Iā€™ve really only heard takyon on ex military, and Iā€™ll check them outā€¼ļøā¤ļøā¤ļøšŸ”„šŸ”„šŸ”„šŸ’Æ money store is just really experimental while being catchy and thatā€™s like my favorite thing an album can do

morph8hprom

The production on NLDW is way more raw and bass-fueled for the most part. I guess it depends on what you mean by catchy, but those songs probably aren't it. It's a lot more screaming and just overall heaviness imo. You'd probably really like Government Plates though, it's a lot more electronic driven and most of the songs are mostly hooks without a lot of lyrics lol

ImplementNo5446

Taste - On The Boards/Live at the Isle of Wright Fucking amazing irish rock band who were sadly overshadowed in the British invasion but have some manic jazz, much rawer and softly-laid folk none of the other british guys really touched with such vulnerability, beautiful songs and insane improv. Also the first band of my fav guitarist ever, Rory Gallagher. Bad Brains - Bad Brains One of my favorite albums of all time. Hard-core punk on full blast and then when you're about to shit yourself you're reeled back with reggae grooves. A powerful statement of purpose. King Crimson - Red (Any of their shit honestly) Seems like you love prog, there's something horrifying about this album, there's nothing like it. Larks Tounges in Aspic is more abstract and Groovy, and Court of The Crimson King is beautifully chaotic and erethreal. Kendrick Lamar - To Pimp a Butterfly Wasnt a big Kendrick fan but listened to this for the first time a few months back. And holy shit is it something else, this is the kinds music that really grabs you and makes sure you leave a changed person. Prince - Purple Rain Just anything this man did really. The greatest guitarist of all time, and one of the most creative bold artists of all time imo. Jimi Hendrix - Band of Gypsies/Songs for Groovy Children Imo I hate hearing about Woodstock era music but this is THE Hendrix album, listen to the quadruple album with the full show. This really shows who Hendrix is, playing with a band that really pushes him forward, further reflected in some of his greatest yet underappreciated songs. Just listen to Who Knows and Machine Gun it's muah. The Velvet Underground - White Light/White Heat I strongly recommend listening to all 4 of their albums to fully understand the band, listen to their debut before checking this one out. All of their albums are so strongly opposed to eachother yet wrap together making a beautiful story. Just recommending this as my favorite.

BradyBales

that ainā€™t Igor man

Odd_Country9791

Time - Electric Light Orchestra Currents - Tame Impala After Hours / Dawn FM - The Weeknd Random Access Memories - Daft Punk Hyperdrama - Justice When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? - Billie Eilish

hi_im_blaine

You look like you need some Prince in your Life, start with the Purple Rain, Around The World In A Day, and Christopher Tracy's Parade If you like that, Funkadelic is a must, check out Maggot Brain and Standing On The Verge Of Getting It On And in another direction, for the classic rock fan in you, I'd recommend Supertramp, Breakfast in America and Crime Of The Century are some of the greatest albums of all time

No_Atmosphere_2918

listen to bladee lil bro šŸ™

Affectionate_Table43

Early NIN, specifically his debut Pretty Hate Machine, heavily pop based structure but built around angsty techno/industrial, for comparison a combination of The Wall and Yeezus in a sense. You seem to be going down the path of many so Court of the Crimson King will most definitely appear to you somewhere along the line, itā€™s one of those albums that changed music forever (the dark side of the mood of dark side of the moon) like pet sounds to sgt peppers, really revolutionary shit. Canā€™t say much more as iā€™ve gone down the metal rabbit hole and youā€™re still diversifying, so find your sound man, chase that ear candy

[deleted]

You should check out Goblin by Tyler the Creator, Exmilitary by Death Grips, Year of the Snitch by Death Grips, Bottomless Pit by Death Grips, and No Love Deep Web by Death Grips. You'll probably like them.

Mr_cyanman

JPEGMAFIA/Devon Hendryx or Bjork

TheLoyalPotato

Since youā€™re a fan of Pink Floyd, I highly recommend you give The Alan Parsons Project a listen. I say start with I Robot and Eye in the Sky and see how you like it before moving on to their other albums, but the sound is so iconic throughout their discography. Their work seems to be overlooked, despite Alan engineering both Abbey Road and Dark Side.

AdhesivenessSecret50

you gotta get some indie in there man, you already listen to the beatles which is goated. Listen to The Strokes, their debut album, Is This It is literally no skips, one of the best albums oat imo. Work your way from there, their entire discography is great, if you like their stuff maybe check out Interpol, Yea Yea Yea's and The Killers. Sick taste tho, wish I was into that ammount of good music at 13 lol

Honestly more than anything listen to some women lmao. Not even trying to be a ā€œwokeā€ guy or whatever and these are all amazing records you have here, but listening to some women will be great for both just musical diversity and also maybe open your eyes to some different kinds of life experiences. Just off the top of my head some records you might like: Sleater Kinney: The Woods Lauryn Hill: Miseducationā€¦. Cocteau Twins: Heaven or Las Vegas Kero Kero Bonito: honestly the whole discography 100 Gecs: 1000 Gecs Bjork: honestly yeah whole discography here too. None of these are super niche or underground, chances are you have heard some of these if not all, but anything you havenā€™t heard I would definitely give a chance.

Very hard and ā€œloudā€ hiphop. His music ranges from rap, r&b, trap, cloud rap. I think you should listen to LP! (OFFLINE!). It is Cloud Rap. Very laid back chill songs but also with some hard beat and like head hopping hip hop. Really a good listen.

Mate I was listening to most of these albums at his age, if ur into music from a young age, heā€™ll probably understand how good they are. Itā€™s the same with movies and TV shows, just because heā€™s young and has good taste doesnā€™t mean heā€™s just saying he likes them for attention

SootSpriteStreet

I listened to some of this stuff too, but mostly because I was trying to impress somebody. I didnā€™t understand or actually like death grips until I was probably 21 Itā€™s like saying your favorite movie at 13 is the seventh seal or Casablanca or something. Or your favorite novelist is Dostoyevsky or Kierkegaard. What are you connecting to at 13 there. Like dude, itā€™s ok to say you like the avengers.

CMC773

Ok, I understand like Death Grips or smth, but almost all of these albums arenā€™t acquired taste and loved by almost everyone šŸ˜‚

SootSpriteStreet

Yeah I was just editing my comment when you replied. I believe that he listens to a lot of these but thereā€™s a couple thrown in there that imo require so much context to understand why theyā€™re great. Kanye I get at 13. Tyler too.

CMC773

I understand that, 90% in the original comment was crazy, I can maybe understand like 3 of these or smth but Iā€™ve never listened to Death Grips so I canā€™t really speak on that

SootSpriteStreet

Fair enough. Iā€™d say thereā€™s like 11 albums here that seem off to me

CMC773

What ones? I see Death Grips and Danny but tbh I canā€™t say Danny since I was listening to him at his age

SootSpriteStreet

Mostly the MF DOOM, the midnight marauders, lllmatic, Mos Def, Elton John (a 13 year old listening and understanding i think Iā€™m gonna kill myself?) the money store, and animals/the wall(extremely overrated albums imo wish syd didnā€™t go nuts). Iā€™d also say TPAB has a lot of contextual historical race & oppression based poetry in there that I canā€™t imagine a 13 year old understanding or truly loving unless they got on rateyourmusic or wherever. Thereā€™s only a few truly catchy kinda pop songs in there. But, whatever. I kinda want to delete my comments bc I donā€™t know why I decided to shit on an actual child. Loser behavior on my part.

CMC773

I understand what you mean but I listened to DOOM, midnight marauders, Illmatic when I was young, I didnā€™t think about the brilliant lyricism, but the beats are still incredible and thereā€™s great rapping

saltyc_man

Damn you need to listen to good music.

CyMSM

what does that even mean dude

saltyc_man

Like actual good music
