I’ve honestly only heard their two big records and American Head, tried Mystics but wasn’t feeling it as much. Besides Embryonic, which ones would you recommend?
Transmissions from the satellite heart, clouds taste metallic, and at war with the mystics are all 3 great albums. If you didn’t like mystics as much, the first two are quite different.
The new abnormal - the strokes
Their debut 'Is this it' was huge when it released in 2001 and they have continued to make amazing music, in 2020 they released the new abnormal which is considered to be their best album (its my fav at least) one of my favorite albums of all time and is the definition of what this post is asking for

Johnny Cash American IV: The Man Comes Around
ooo This one is a good answer
The Strokes - The New Abnormal Yes I know it doesn’t technically qualify, still a great return to form and an excellent album even ignoring that
The Modern Age EP came out in 2000 so it should still qualify
Modern age ep came out in 2001
Slowdive - Slowdive
American Head by the Flaming Lips was quite good
Embryonic also qualifies for this, and imo, is miles better

Shame. I thought as much. I don't love their 90s/00s output as much.
Discipline is one of my favs by King Crimson (Elephant talk is probably a top 5 King Crimson song for me). Too bad it can’t make it on the list
