It is, I see it all the time newbie cyclists get squeezed out by cars and buses. They don't signal properly or take the lane leading to scary situations.
I came across it last year and was taken by complete surprise. It was so scary! And a bus was coming up behind me too.
There must be some warning signs that the bike lane ends but I don’t remember seeing any :(
You have to stay aware of all the car traffic going by and get into the lane when it's clear or the next car is really far away.
I take that bike lane to get into Overlea where I have to take the lane. I like to follow buses because drivers don't like following buses so they change lanes instead of trying to push me.
They never covered this maneuver in driving school. looks efficient, Ill have to start giving this a try. XD

I'd probably just shit myself and walk on the sidewalk at that point. Normal biking on the side is scary enough.
