that's a pretty big jump in msrp. I think I paid 46500 msrp no destination or delivery etc...and they let me port delete the predator steps and bed cover. I get that it's a new model and all, but a 20k msrp jump is nuts. I'm sure it will sell just fine, but at 65-70k one starts thinking about what else you can buy for 70 thousand f-ing dollars....like a down payment on a house....
My insureds in Missouri have homes for $85-100k for a 3 bedroom 1 bath lol
I’m in SoCal where my parents 3 bed 2 bath is $700-800k and I’m paying rent with my Gf $2175
I loved my Tacoma 2016-2019 but at this point I’m buying a tundra v8 in 5 years 2021 model or a sequoia up to the 2022 model
Way more practical and cheaper by then
For $10k more, I can get a brand new gasser F250, and have a shit ton more space and towing capability.
Toyota USED to be affordable and reliable. Seems like affordable has been kicked right out the door.
It's all subjective but a new F250 on some 37s looks better than the new gen Tacomas...even if the Tacoma has aftermarket wheels. I just feel the tacoma is for IG pictures. It looks like a toy.
Also, at 70k it will have a nicer interior and panoramic moonroof. Can tow 3 times as much, more legroom, etc etc.
I feel like it's an entirely different market, though. If you need all that stuff, you shouldn't be looking at a Tacoma. For $70k, you can get a lot of different vehicles
True, I meant to reply on the looks part but got carried away since heavy duty trucks are actually a good value nowadays.
I am a big emotional buyer. Meaning I also buy on looks. I need to upgrade my 2019 Tacoma for towing but not a fan of the Silverados, F150s, Ram 1500s. Looking at skipping those and going with a new F250 or Ram 2500 megacab. From low to high 60k you can get a nicely equipped model.
I think they look cooler and are better looking than a toy looking 2024 Tacoma. But only mid trims and up with bigger tires. I know, I know "different markets" but let's face it, 90% of Tacomas are for mild truck use and no off roading. The heavy duty trucks have the same mpg and are more capable when needed.
It's truly fascinating what Toyota can sell based on image alone.
Toyota went full Murica and is now selling a lifestyle to wealthy consumers with big credit lines.
4x4 vehicles are for rich yuppies larping as outdoor adventurers. Kinda like what happened to the Van lifers.
An XLT f250 crew cab with the 7.3l gas is $55k, with the 6.7 diesel it’s $65k. For that kind of money I’d rather have a lower trim f250 than a TRD pro. Also my local dealerships have been offering discounts on trucks $6k under msrp.
$65,395 is $51,000 in 2017 dollars when the gen 3 TRD PRO came out at $40,760. Light trucks tend to increase in *real* price gen over gen, but $10k is a big bump.
Yea, it's about 3/5 of the jump, at least for the PRO. I was hoping for an OR hybrid, but I've been pushed out. The efficiency isn't there. There are full-size trucks with better fuel economy AND more power. Maybe they were banking hard on the "enthusiast market" who will pay for novelties, but I feel alienated by the utility/price proposition.
I can’t ever see myself spending more than $40k-50k on a vehicle. It’s insane. Not that I don’t want a $100k truck or car if I came into / bunch of money.
Yup, I paid exactly $46500 for a 2021 TRD Pro Lunar Rock. Insane to see the price of the new Tacomas . I kept mine for 2 years and sold it for $45k with 18k miles on it to buy a new Tundra . I needed the extra room. I also think the outgoing gen is better looking .
This. I just drove home with a loaded Pro-4X yesterday for under 40k. It was used, but only 5k miles. I planned on getting a ‘23 TRD Pro or ‘24, but I just couldn’t justify paying that much.
I love it so far. I picked it up in Tennessee and drove it home to Michigan, so I've only put about 500 miles on it.
The steering and turn radius are the major complaints that I've seen browsing r/nissanfrontier and their Facebook group, but I'm already used to it at this point. The trip was mostly highway with some city driving while we were exploring, but overall it was a very comfortable ride. The truck isn't too bad on gas either, and the V6 has some good power. It can really get up and go if you need it to. The interior has just the right amount of tech in my opinion. I feel confident that this truck will last a while.
I just got a used pro 4x as well. Check out my post on nissanfrontier. Love this thing and couldn't justify the asking prices on all of the Toyota Tacoma
There’s some by me locally for $40,000. So a casual $25,000 less.
You could buy a Frontier Pro 4X and a used lower trim 3rd trim Tacoma for the price of a 4th gen TRD Pro.
Just don't see it. They just don't have the appeal of the other brands. Time will tell but since the 2022 has come out, they're sales numbers have not exactly been overwhelming.
the frontier was the 2nd best selling midsize Q1 of this year. The frontier has always sold alright, Titan on the other hand is being killed off because those do not move.
In my area 2024 Rangers and Tacomas are pretty even in price, at least outside of the top-end models (which I don't believe move the sales needle that much). A Ranger XLT is around $46K and Tacoma TRD Sport is around $48K.
I’ve had pretty good luck with fords. Not as good as Toyota of course, but when you can get the transmission rebuilt twice and still cost less than the Toyota you gotta ask yourself if the Toyota tax is really worth it.
Not a ford fan, but have you not seen all the issues with the '22 Tundra? Toyota is pretty much Ford these days, but charging a premium
Also I sat in a non TRD Pro the other day. The 4wd selector felt super flimsy. And the way to stow the rear seats up is a joke... who uses snap buttons in vehicles these days? Seems super rushed from the engineering side of things.
205K miles on a 3.5L ecoboost with no major issues 🤷
I think part of the problem is that the average person buys into the lie of 10,000 mile oil change intervals being acceptable because they're too lazy to change their own oil and it costs them $100 for that extra change a year instead of $30 with an OEM filter and good synthetic if you just do it yourself.
It's more expensive than a ZR2 bison which has a front locker, 35s, steel bumpers and likely more skid plates.
Toyota is getting out of their minds with pricing, and their shitty allocation system isn't helping.
I was trying to buy a Tundra, and am just about fed up. Looking at Tremors really hard rn cause I can order exactly WTF I want instead of playing Toyota's shitty "allocation" game
I'm betting they throw an additional $20-25k on top for the TRD Pro trim level. Toyota of Orange too. I think they were the ones that had that $85k TRD Pro 4Runner like 4-5 years ago that everyone thought was crazy priced but sold in like 2 weeks.
Yep. My 22 had a $5k when I bought it, shortly after every Pro I saw was minimum $10k markup. So if you want a 24 pro, be ready to pay upwards of $75k which is exactly what I figured it would be.
Yeah I don’t get it, personally. When Toyota was comparable to other brands on price it made sense. But now I can buy a new Ford or Chevy, get the transmission rebuilt twice, and it still costs significantly less than even a used comparable Toyota lol.
Toyota used to be the brand for ruggedness and reliability, but now it’s a luxury brand for rich people who are allergic to regular maintenance.
For real. Paying for the maintenance on any other vehicle is cheaper than paying the toyota tax at this point. Toyota has definitely earned a premium. But they haven’t earned this kind of premium. It’s not worth it anymore
I'm thinking about jumping over to the new Frontier King Cab now that Toyota got rid of the Access Cab. Plus you get tried and true V6 engine.
Way cheaper too!
People say that they want a forever Tacoma, but I’m curious how many on here buy a Tacoma for the long haul (say 20 years owning the same one), versus those who turn them over quick (say, buying a replacement every 5 or 6 years).
I sometimes wonder if it’s the perception of durability and quality versus the experience. If you plan to keep it for so short a period, is it more resale you care about? Perhaps a cheaper alternative, in the short haul, might be a better option for some.
Bought brand new and still have 2003 4Runner V8, 2009 Tacoma V6 4.0 TRD OR, 2005 Camry.
I just come here for the laughs and popcorn event watching readers lust after these more $ for less value products.
I have a 2007 Taco Sport, white, 100k miles, only non-stock changes are a set of Wildpeaks A/T3W 265/70R17 - best truck I've ever had.
I badly want to like the new model, I really do, but every time I see a photo of it, it reminds me of those celebrities that were at one point beautiful and then decided to make all this unnecessary surgeries and now they look like clowns, puffed-up clowns..
I think I’m in an abusive relationship with Toyota. I’ve owned them off and on for about 15 years. Out of 4 Toyotas, I think one came off the lot and didn’t immediately have problems.
Now THAT'S a truck. Those things are bad ass. I saw one at work the other day and it was really nice looking. Until I got up close and saw that the side had different routes on almost every wheel. Lol. Same size just different model and type. I like to think he just bought it from an auction and put on whatever tires he could just to get it out of there. Lol.
It’s insane. The payload and towing capacity is ridiculous. Can’t even feel the dump trailer or skid steer behind it. Also has leather seats, heated and cooling, apply CarPlay with nice sized screen. I would love a Tacoma one day but with those prices they just don’t even make sense. My other truck is a 2009 beater ford ranger with rolling windows and full sized bed I got for 7k. I’ll keep that in the mean time 😎
They've priced me out.
If the ford maverick ages even moderately well I think that's going to be my next truck. Or I'll just go back to a clapped out station wagon. My $40k tacoma was honestly too expensive for me. Payment hell is no fun. My salary is not growing at the rate these prices are. And no Mr. Dealer, I am not extending the loan to 9 years to make the payment work.
Bay Area tech bros will line up for this so they can do that trip to Yosemite once a year to eat dribbly food in Curry Village and drive the loop road.
I’m in Canada and quick math says a $65 usd taco will be close to $80 here in Canada.
For another $10, i can walk into my dealership and get a new tundra TRD pro.
Oh boy.
Update.
Extra throttle house just posted Tacoma updates.
Msrp on trd pro is $63,900 usd and $76,900 cdn
FML
It’s a gross price but I get it.
I wanted to downsize from my dodge 3/4t diesel to a Tacoma. Now my downsize could be to a Tundra.
Plus then in a Tundra could carry an adult passenger…..
You get it!? This pricing is just because they can, it doesn’t reflect any superior quality what so ever. Toyota makes quality cars but they are not on a different level than any other automaker, they’re just another brand but they’re really good at convincing their fanboys
YUP. I've sat in all three.
GM has rear seat HVAC vents for passengers and better legroom (not even counting those ridiculous seats in the Pro).
Ranger has better legroom than all of them. And the best interior (at the higher trims, I haven't been in the lower trims yet).
I had some hopes that the 4Runner would be moved slightly downmarket because of the Landcruiser hitting in the mid 50s and up...But now? Hell no. 4Runner in ORP trim is going to be well over 60 grand instead of high 40s-low 50s.
I'm done. I'm not paying the The Toyota tax with this shit. I can tolerate a LOT of non-Toyota shit for that 10-15 thousand dollar difference.
Hell, you can buy a *Silverado* ZR2, with lockers, and a 6.2 V8 or a diesel, for 65k-ish right now.
Been saying this for awhile, the ZR2 is much better value than any Tacoma offering. I'm on my third Tacoma but if I were in the market for a new midsize it would be the ZR2.
Not sure what’s going on with these manufacturers lately. I was originally going for a gladiator then their prices went insane, then I was gonna go for the 4Runner trd pro which obviously will be priced around the same.
Pushing 100,000$ CAD for a truck you’re likely to get rid of in 7ish year is absolutely unhinged. Looks like I’ll be looking into canyons and rangers.
Welp - I guess it’s a no from me. Pretty much everything has priced me out now. I’m not just gonna throw my hard earned money at it just because it’s a Toyota.
All Toyota has to do is post the price and wait.
Month 1: Buyers “This is ridiculously high for a midsize truck”
Toyota: “Launch cool videos on YouTube with professional drivers doing things 99% of our customers will never do”
Month 3: Buyers “Bro check out this video!! Idk man, it’s kinda pricey”
Toyota: “Green screen a TRD at the top of Denali with a city tech bro doing his software engineer job remotely in a $6k jacket and then he pans to his right to see a beautiful smiling model admiring him from a freshly made up glamping style tent….. As our buyers imagine themselves from their studio apt because they bought an overpriced 2020 Tacoma and can barely afford the gas”
Month 6: Buyer “Broo!! I got a great deal on this new TRD!! 84k out the door after some awesome dealer installed things like wiper fluid!! …Bro, cheap af! *and you only had to finance for 120 months!?!?….Bro You know these run till 400k miles!”
Month 9: Toyota “The new 2025 Toyota Tacoma Pro Costs $85,395!!”
Bro…
I think Toyota though the Ford Ranger Raptor would be priced higher and priced their truck accordingly.
Now that price has been announced those on the verge between a Ranger Raptor and a TRD Pro must be running to ford dealers.
Told my dealer yesterday I'll wait for a Pro instead of an off road. The off road I'd be getting is $54k (premium pack and a few other options). I'm slightly ok with this. But $10k more for a TRD pro and the gimmick seats is absurd. Also waiting on a ranger raptor allocation which is an absolutely steal for $57k.
Toyota is insane with this generation's pricing all around.
That's fucked. It seems to be a great truck but goddamn that's full truck size price.
I still want one but for 76k CDN that's a steep price, trailhunter is 83k, both are without tax and where I live people will pay an extra 15%.
Might have to wait a couple years for one or auto market realizes their prices aren't sustainable.
actually that is the cost of the Trailhunter...
The upcharge for the Tacoma's hybrid option is $3700, with the entry point being the $47,795 TRD Sport model. However, the pricey Trailhunter and TRD Pro—which start at $64,395 and $65,395, respectively—cost more than even the 35-inch-tired Colorado ZR2 Bison ($60,540) and the 405-hp [Ford Ranger Raptor](https://www.caranddriver.com/ford/ranger-raptor) ($57,065).
For that price I’m buying a slightly used raptor or just an f150. I can also buy a significantly nicer f150 with a v8 and make it 10x better at off roading for less than this. Insane
I really appreciate Toyota for hearing complaints from tall drivers and giving them the option to buy a truck with the premium package and no sunroof by making it available in the Trailhunter for a mere $65000.
I will say this shouldn’t be a shock. Toyota saw people paying dealer markups of 5-15k plus. That money goes to the dealer not to Toyota. Now that they raised prices dealers most likely won’t be able to justify a markup (or only a very small one). Toyota keeps that extra money from the people who need to be first and have money to burn. Then I think once some of the hype dies down from it being the new generation in a year or so I bet we see prices below msrp. I believe I saw a video with a few 2024 I force tacomas already 2k ish off msrp and I’ve seen tundras at 5-8k off msrp. So I think Toyota is just doing what most of the American truck companies do now where they know only a few sell at msrp but during truck month or whatever sale season you can easily go get 5k+ off a lot of new trucks …
At this point they should just cut the shot and make them an even $100k I’m
Sure they’d still sell plenty. I’ll keep my 2019 until the wheels fall off.
Toyota has lost their damn mind. Can get ranger raptor or zr2 cheaper and they both have better interiors to boot even with ford's goofy looking "earmuff" vents near the screen.
Looking forward to see how this bolds for sales on all trims but is a damn good looking truck imo
80k 👀 with dealership fees and shipping for Canada. Interest rates need to go down or I'm canceling my pro order. 100k + truck after add-ons and tax and interest.
I just bought a 2024 TRD sport 4wd with 6 speed manual for 44k - no amount of bells and whistles is gonna make me pay 20k more. This truck is good enough...
If the new truck doesn’t come equipped with $15k cash in the glove box, it’s really pricing Tacoma lovers out. Most of us can afford it but it’s hard to justify in my mind, that’s 2 used Tacomas worth of money they want.
Am I the only one that see 100k and thinks these are home prices. No wonder no one can afford anything these days. Houses are unattainable and trucks cost the price of a home. Wild!!

You can live in a car but you can’t race a house /s
My rv with a 454 says otherwise /s
Man I’ve been saying that since the late 90’s lol
Yea, 65k is nuts. I bought a 2017 Tundra TRD Pro for like $45k back in the day
My dad paid $3500 for a brand new Volkswagen beetle in 1972….jesh the TRD pro is way out of bed;-) lmao
I paid the same for a 1972 Maverick Grabber. Ford 302 V8 engine. LOL things are way out of control.
For $10k more, I can get a brand new gasser F250, and have a shit ton more space and towing capability. Toyota USED to be affordable and reliable. Seems like affordable has been kicked right out the door.
For $10k less, you can have cooler, better looking truck
Point was a less than 1/2 ton truck shouldn’t cost as much as a 3/4 ton truck, but I get what you’re saying lol.
I was pricing f250s the other day for about 55k. Bought a tundra today for about the same price

Not a decent spec F250 gasser you can't, if we are going to compare apples to apples here. Those break through the $100k mark easily.
An XLT f250 crew cab with the 7.3l gas is $55k, with the 6.7 diesel it’s $65k. For that kind of money I’d rather have a lower trim f250 than a TRD pro. Also my local dealerships have been offering discounts on trucks $6k under msrp.

I know right? At a certain point its like, what exactly am I getting out of this that I couldn't get with a cheaper vehicle?
At current interest rates its about 90k for a trd sport premium.
Don’t forget dealer mark ups
Yup, I paid exactly $46500 for a 2021 TRD Pro Lunar Rock. Insane to see the price of the new Tacomas . I kept mine for 2 years and sold it for $45k with 18k miles on it to buy a new Tundra . I needed the extra room. I also think the outgoing gen is better looking .
I’m Pretty sure someone will call Dave Ramsey saying he owes $70k on this truck and broke!
Vintage Short wheelbase 911... fully restored LS swapped Cameo... 2-3 2021 TRDs... 7-10 years of mortgage payments on average priced home
10k more than the base ranger raptor MSRP. God damn
With these prices I think Ford is about to have the best selling midsize truck.
Could end up like what happened in Australia, Ranger has been selling better than Hilux since the new generation came out.
Nissan I think will close the gap.
What does Nissan have in the pipeline?
I think the frontier Pro 4x is going to steal a lot of the “holy shit the Tacoma’s are expensive now” business over the American brands.
This. I just drove home with a loaded Pro-4X yesterday for under 40k. It was used, but only 5k miles. I planned on getting a ‘23 TRD Pro or ‘24, but I just couldn’t justify paying that much.

I was just looking at Pro4x’s to replace my 2021 OR lease that’s expiring. If rates weren’t so bad I’d easily lease a Nissan.

Yeah maybe ten years ago but getting a tranny replaced in 2024 is expensive as hell
At 60000 miles, everything starts going to shit
My work F-150 dropped oil pressure at 66k and required a $13,000 engine rebuild

Yeah but does the zr2 bison get sweet shocks in their seats?
Ranger Raptor actually gets long travel suspension also. the TRD Pro just gets lower offset wheels to make it look wider and cheesy shock seats.
I own a Tacoma but I’d much rather have the raptor, especially if I were in the market to spend that much money.
Crazy. Also means just like the Bronco Raptor in its first year, the Ranger MSRP will likely be 10k more in a year.
You are on crack if you pay that price.
i pray to God this trim under sells. im praying to Brahman, Zeus, Horus, whoever else
I've seen content creators on YT mention that the Tundra isn't selling as fast as they hoped. Idk how true but the high trim models are near 100k too.
Won't be surprised when we see $10-15k dealer markup on these too.
Toyota of Huntington Beach is drooling right now
I'm betting they throw an additional $20-25k on top for the TRD Pro trim level. Toyota of Orange too. I think they were the ones that had that $85k TRD Pro 4Runner like 4-5 years ago that everyone thought was crazy priced but sold in like 2 weeks.

People are buying the new GX for 75k OTD. Lol. What a ridiculous price for a Tacoma.
But the back door, though! /s
[удалено]
Idk. The GX and TRD seem geared pretty heavily towards Broverlanders.
Toyota has lost their way, embarrassing.
I knew they were gonna be in that 70k range
That’s’a spicy meatball!
Bada bing bada boom!
Base f150 raptor is 76k
Fuuuuuuuuuck that
I’m out
Most of yall in this sub will still insist ToYoTa KwAliTee is worth this kind of premium
I just come here for the laughs and popcorn event watching readers lust after these more $ for less value products.
a very good point
My Old Toyota has been a $$$ pit. Cant buy anything like it new sadly so I keep it but its way overhyped for reliability.
yeah ive been looking at the gmc canyon, but i’ve been reading the software has a few bugs in it
And it's not even made in Japan. Lol.
I paid $67k for a 2021 gmc 3500 HD AT4 immaculate condition…this is absolutely absurd for a Tacoma
I’ll keep that in the mean time 😎
65k msrp but 80k after dealer markups.
then after financing at 9.5% for 72 months... 100k truck lmao
Yeah I will keep my second gen and just try to upgrade it as I go.
So, damn close to the used 23' cost right now I actually have seen some in the 60's lately
Damn. I paid $52,800 for my 2023 trd pro brand new fully loaded
Aren't they all fully loaded?
Yes
'Dealers are smoking crack with those prices.
I don’t think this is the dealers call. This is MSRP. Now the dealer is just going to add another $20k on top of the $70k.
That’s the MSRP (set by Toyota, not the dealers), dealers are likely charging way more.
This is the msrp not deal price. But yes, once we see the 15k markup dealers will be smoking all the crack and so will the customers that buy them.
Which one of you regards is paying this price?
Bay Area tech bros will line up for this so they can do that trip to Yosemite once a year to eat dribbly food in Curry Village and drive the loop road.
Nah, they all bought rivians for their once a year Tahoe trip.
This is Canadian dollars right?! /s
I’m in Canada and quick math says a $65 usd taco will be close to $80 here in Canada. For another $10, i can walk into my dealership and get a new tundra TRD pro. Oh boy. Update. Extra throttle house just posted Tacoma updates. Msrp on trd pro is $63,900 usd and $76,900 cdn FML
Add in your sales tax and it’s pushing 100k LOL
It’s a gross price but I get it. I wanted to downsize from my dodge 3/4t diesel to a Tacoma. Now my downsize could be to a Tundra. Plus then in a Tundra could carry an adult passenger…..
You get it!? This pricing is just because they can, it doesn’t reflect any superior quality what so ever. Toyota makes quality cars but they are not on a different level than any other automaker, they’re just another brand but they’re really good at convincing their fanboys
I love the Pro, but a ZR2 has front and rear lockers and can be had for under 50.
Ranger Raptor also has 2 lockers and is cheaper.
I'm on my third Tacoma but if I were in the market for a new midsize it would be the ZR2.
thats a lot of money to drive something to the grocery store
Not sure what’s going on with these manufacturers lately. I was originally going for a gladiator then their prices went insane, then I was gonna go for the 4Runner trd pro which obviously will be priced around the same. Pushing 100,000$ CAD for a truck you’re likely to get rid of in 7ish year is absolutely unhinged. Looks like I’ll be looking into canyons and rangers.
Pass.
What the fuck. You can get the Colorado ZR2 or Ranger Raptor for less than that and they both easily outperform the TRD Pro in any off road scenario.
This is fucking disgusting
Welp - I guess it’s a no from me. Pretty much everything has priced me out now. I’m not just gonna throw my hard earned money at it just because it’s a Toyota.
10k more than the Ranger raptor? Lol. Toyota getting a little carried away with their price gouging.
Ranger raptor and Colorado ZR2 licking their lips rn
The SR5 is offered in hybrid? I thought the TRD Sport was the minimum trim for that.
All Toyota has to do is post the price and wait. Month 1: Buyers “This is ridiculously high for a midsize truck” Toyota: “Launch cool videos on YouTube with professional drivers doing things 99% of our customers will never do” Month 3: Buyers “Bro check out this video!! Idk man, it’s kinda pricey” Toyota: “Green screen a TRD at the top of Denali with a city tech bro doing his software engineer job remotely in a $6k jacket and then he pans to his right to see a beautiful smiling model admiring him from a freshly made up glamping style tent….. As our buyers imagine themselves from their studio apt because they bought an overpriced 2020 Tacoma and can barely afford the gas” Month 6: Buyer “Broo!! I got a great deal on this new TRD!! 84k out the door after some awesome dealer installed things like wiper fluid!! …Bro, cheap af! *and you only had to finance for 120 months!?!?….Bro You know these run till 400k miles!” Month 9: Toyota “The new 2025 Toyota Tacoma Pro Costs $85,395!!” Bro…
About what I expected
Yeah, about the same as a Colorado ZR2 Bison and a Canyon AT4x AEV.
People are going to buy them too lol
I’ll buy an actual truck for $70k then. Coming from a multiple Tacoma owner.
I think Toyota though the Ford Ranger Raptor would be priced higher and priced their truck accordingly. Now that price has been announced those on the verge between a Ranger Raptor and a TRD Pro must be running to ford dealers.
Idk who can realistically afford these things. That’s more expensive than a loaded IS500.
Jesus.
Nah I’m cool with my 3 gen 😎
Me too grabbed a 2023 trd pro
Hard pass. I’ll run my Gen2 into the grave, thanks.
No way!! You can buy a brand new S4 for that!! I don't care what the new tacoma drives like, I'm not paying that for a midsized toyota truck.
lol holy shit , it’s the seats!
Before Dealership mark up:)

Who on gods green earth would buy this over a ranger raptor?
Fuck that. Makes more sense to get a Nissan Frontier pro4x and save 20k
Damn that's high... sad thing is, there will be people lined up and more than happy to pay that MSRP, some people never learn.
Ouch. Makes the GX550 look like a bargain!
Ranger Raptor here I come.
If you could afford a 65k truck why the fuck are you buying a Tacoma? Lmfao
So it’s $89k out the door
actually that is the cost of the Trailhunter... The upcharge for the Tacoma's hybrid option is $3700, with the entry point being the $47,795 TRD Sport model. However, the pricey Trailhunter and TRD Pro—which start at $64,395 and $65,395, respectively—cost more than even the 35-inch-tired Colorado ZR2 Bison ($60,540) and the 405-hp [Ford Ranger Raptor](https://www.caranddriver.com/ford/ranger-raptor) ($57,065).
> actually that is the cost of the Trailhunter... It sounds like you're disagreeing, but the rest of your comment matches the post title and link.
Absolutely not, you are correct.
Didn't slap the tundra 3.5 in it? Psh
Gonna be a no for me.
Ridiculous. ...and with these interest rates, Toyota is shooting themselves in the foot.
For that price I’m buying a slightly used raptor or just an f150. I can also buy a significantly nicer f150 with a v8 and make it 10x better at off roading for less than this. Insane
I’m happy with my fully loaded Highlander for $49k lmfao
lol dumb rich people will buy this truck. No way is a Tacoma work that tag.
I really appreciate Toyota for hearing complaints from tall drivers and giving them the option to buy a truck with the premium package and no sunroof by making it available in the Trailhunter for a mere $65000.
Freaking rediculous
Don’t forget all the warranties
The jump in the cost of the midsize truck market is insane. Gonna get a used 2500/3500 instead
😂🖕🏼Toyota!
I’m never going to be able to buy a Tacoma
Welp, I guess my Taco is going to have to run forever, because... nope.
At this point they should just cut the shot and make them an even $100k I’m Sure they’d still sell plenty. I’ll keep my 2019 until the wheels fall off.
Goddamit. I was so excited for the TRD Pro. Now I hate it.
Someone has to be on 10 different types of drugs to take this over a Ranger Raptor. Toyota has gone beyond mental at this point.
With 50% dealer mark up it should be affordable in 3 to 5 years
Toyota has lost their damn mind. Can get ranger raptor or zr2 cheaper and they both have better interiors to boot even with ford's goofy looking "earmuff" vents near the screen. Looking forward to see how this bolds for sales on all trims but is a damn good looking truck imo
What the fuck
What the fuck is a tundra going to cost??? That’s crazy talk
This is insane.. and exactly why I got a Supra instead and kept my gen 2.. if I’m paying 60k for a Toyota I’d rather it be fast and be a bmw. 😬🤣
65k That is what I paid for my trd off road limited iforce max tundra less than 2 years ago.
I wonder if Monopoly money might actually be worth more than USD at this point. /s
It’s a Tacoma for Pete sake
10k more and you can get a base Raptor
80k 👀 with dealership fees and shipping for Canada. Interest rates need to go down or I'm canceling my pro order. 100k + truck after add-ons and tax and interest.
Just checked the MPG for the hybrids: 22/24! Wow. That’s garbage for a hybrid
I just bought a 2024 TRD sport 4wd with 6 speed manual for 44k - no amount of bells and whistles is gonna make me pay 20k more. This truck is good enough...
Wtf…no just no and I’ve loved every taco I’ve owned and there have been several through the years. But no 65k for a Tacoma…🖕🖕🖕
Wild!!
I couldn't justify the price of a new tacoma, so I picked up a 2019 because I could afford it.
My mom is buying the base model trd sport 2 wheel drive with zero added packages for $46k out the door. Its a lot
