He does try to minimize the amount left. I've heard that other surgeons will sometimes deliberately leave erectile tissue in the labia, so it might be the best we can get.
Assuming penile inversion, they can’t self-lube enough for penetration unless you get insanely lucky, but they usually produce a little bit. If you’re on HRT right now, then whatever amount of stuff that comes out right now is the same amount that will lubricate post-op.
