i think the seat can be tilted that agressive, if youre able to keep the weight off your hands by pushing a lot of power for the most time, which pushes your torso up.
But if you see the amount of spacers on the bike, its questionable if the owner is as flexible or powerful as someone that wins big races.
I think the reason for the tilt is -> saddle is too high, rider has pain on perineum area, tries to tilt saddle forward to loosen the pain. Correct way would be just lowering seat height and keeping it more or less leveled.
Morton’s bike saddle didn’t have that much pitch. He was also using TT bars which the position changes can affect saddle position.
Lastly don’t use pros as an example of bike fit. They on a whole have bad bike fit, and can put up with much more pain than the normal rider.
Definitely wasn’t using tt bars. And I’m not advocating for copying pro fits — I just feel like it’s shortsighted to look at a bike without a person on it and diagnose a bad fit
> He was also using TT bars
He does, but not at UnBound (illegal).
His TT bars are at ~45degrees...an angle previously reserved only for old men and/or big bellies. Lachlan Morton rides for all of us!!
PS: If I see someone with a saddle that is tilted, I just ask why they did it. Usually it's a bad fix for something.
I would be so sure about that. I’ve ridden a long time and tried out every possible saddle position and spacers and frame sizes and every time I end up tilting the saddle as leveled just creates pressure to my crotch. Been doing 120km rides with tilted saddle and had no issues whatsoever. Also no slipping from saddle even if cycling upright without hands for a while just to stretch out.
Edit: I think tilting the saddle is absolutely fine with an aggressive geometry bike or aero bikes. Endurance bikes have less need to do so.

ISOspeed bolt/bearing comes loose and causes sway in seatmast assembly, can cause damage to mast and frame.
The Trek remedy is strip and clean, replace bolt and bushings where necessary, reassemble with red loctite - if it starts doing it again it's a replacement mast or frame and the bolt will probably need drilling out to remove with a jig from Trek.
Innovative yes, shit design also yes. Why they couldn't create some kind of cup and cone style locknut or something idk.
Yah definitely, or get a dealer to inspect every now and again.
I had a replacement frame due to a front hanger split, the new frame immediately had isospeed issues which they'll warranty but still needs a whole new mast assembly.
The bike is very nice, but level that saddle. If you need to tilt it that much, then there is a bike fit issue.
I think this is outdated advice — it doesn’t look that far off the bike Lachlan Morton just won unbound on

Because a saddle should be leveled, and if you feel the need to pitch it, then there is another issue going on.

I bet you have a mean anterior pelvic tilt and a sore back
Nope, just did a 300km cycling event last weekend and no issues at all. Felt amazing all throughout the race.
This subreddit really needs to learn how to face a bike the right way.
and to level a saddle
OP will be back in a few minutes to say he has his saddle that way on purpose and he got a ɓïĉè fìṭ
That’s because it’s filled with people who don’t actually care about bikes
100%! I will admit, I used to tell people do take pictures the right way and just gave up.
What is the right way? Sorry, newbie here
from the side where the chain is
* Drive-side * Big Ring and Small Cog * Valve stems at 6 o'clock * Pedals level at 3 and 9 ...and saddle level.
Well if this is wrong, it’s probably the other way… Spoiler alert - they don’t mean turn it upside down
And big ring, small cog the thing for photogenics
We just ignoring valve stems at 6 o'clock now...and pedal position?
No point in bringing those up if they can’t even face it the right way.
Sorry but the max spacers and saddle angle ruin it even before we start talking about this being a non driveside photo…
LOL! Still, a nice bike - lots of potential ;-)
This isn’t ‘that’ group, is it?!?!?
😂😂 the real thing, in the wild. Bcj will be proud 🥲
BCJ is jealous cause this comment thread is out-jerking them.
Even with those spacers, he still has a lot of saddle to bar drop
Seriously wtf mate
Yes she is 🤤
She sure is
well, i think it's beautiful but since you didn't take the picture on the drive side i can't be sure.
Learn the bike photo rules but yes, she’s a beaut, love the colour!!
How does that seatpost work
It sells like hot cakes🤣
it works for a limited time, hopefully the warranty is lifetime
But, that’s why we have this Madone, last batch of iso speed 1/2 the bikes had some f’d up seatmasts
Oh yeah? Mine has been fine (2022 SL6). What was happening with them?

Oh, wow. So I guess I should check the torque on the ISO Speed bolt regularly. 😬

Jeez. That's brutal.
My 2022 SL6 has also been perfect so far.
The SLR s
Ooohh. Who cares about those rich people? Haha. Kidding.
Its....its perfect 😍
Sick bike
What the fuck is wrong with your saddle?
OP is reposting /u/YatharthIMA's bike
Damn idk why this guy did it 🥴🥴
maybe a bot just karma farming
Yepp I posted an updated video hehe
Be sliding right off that saddle
small ring to big cog, non drive side, cranks at 12 and 6 for god sakes man learn some respect before you post such a beauty at her worst
Dang!
I'm a sucker for red!
This ain't red, it's candy apple cinnamon
The color of the frame and wall give an illusion that a chunk of the seat tube is missing. Weird how your eyes play these tricks on you.
If your seat is tilted that far down something is very wrong about your bike fit
Did you ride to the cafe on a flat in that gear? Lol
Ewww a wanker

You’re not wrong
