You know what, you're right. I was immediately annoyed cause I knew it was gonna be another Snoop Lion situation in order to promote some kind of smoke-less product, but he got my *mom* to talk about it. If that ain't just good marketing then what even is.

For someone who doesn't follow anything Snoop Dogg related I totally fell for that.

Yeah I just thought he was switching to edibles or something, I remember seeing a couple studies recently about smoking weed potentially having some real long-term heart risks.

I mean, that's just common sense, inhaling smoke is bad for your lungs no matter what's in the smoke, but it's nice to hear there's hard science behind it.

Are edibles completely safe or at least *less harmful* than smoking joints? I know next to nothing about these things but IIRC putting *anything* other than air in the lungs cause damage.

The risk comes in the psychoactivity, but that's like, all the THC sources and is usually very low. It's something to consider if you have a condition like schizophrenia as I understand it. Speaking personally I find edibles get my anxiety going worse, actually so I have to be very, very light with them if I do them at all.

edibles will give you less lung cancer specifically but you really ought to watch out for your stomach while on them. seems to work decent against acid reflux though, which is fucking wild.

Was gonna make a joke but I’m shocked to learn Keith Richards apparently quit smoking for good over the pandemic.

The more I learn about Keith Richards the more its apparent that a lot of his mythos is just that. Like, he lets people talk him up but he's not really been much of a wildman for a long, long time. That's not a knock on him either. He gets the benefit of being a rocker god without having to keep ripping himself to bits over it. Iggy Pop's the same way nowadays. Just sort of a retired dude who hangs out on the beech and puts out a record now and again.
