My crack theory that I’m sure is wrong is that she’s only Marika’s daughter, and she was made using the GEQ’s Remembrance. She used it like how we do but instead of making a cool sword or a spell she made a baby, and that’s why Melina is curious about people who are born in the way normal way.
My theory is this:
-Renna was the Gloam Eyed Queen
-Renna created the doll and put her soul in it to escape destruction by Maliketh
-Renna encounters young Ranni and teaches her about the Dark Moon, death, and the eternal cities, turning her against the Golden Order and Two Fingers
-Renna guides Ranni to the rune of death and helps her steal the fragments for the Night of Black Knives
-Ranni burns and discards her flesh after Godwyn is killed, completing the ritual of the centipede. Her soul joins Renna’s inside the doll. The doll contains the souls of both Renna and Ranni inside it
-The original body of Renna aka Gloam Eyed Queen was burned by Maliketh with death. Marika restored it to life and replaced Renna’s vacated soul with a new one named ‘Melina’ - a fire kindling maiden daughter of Marika inhabiting Renna’s discarded flesh (which explains the burns on Melina’s hands and her gloam eye in the lord of chaos ending).

They'll probably modify Malenia so that you can get an item like... I dunno, "Blind Swordswoman's Rotflower". And if you have the item on you when you talk to Miquella, he'll have a few lines that explain how the actual fuck Mohg snuck past Malenia.

If you started NG+1 then its not actually that bad, you should be able to fly through all the early critical bosses. You can also do [White Mask Varre's questline](https://eldenring.wiki.fextralife.com/White+Mask+Varre) to get to Mohg quicker too.
