Brilliant deal for £35!

zambezisa

Great deal and looks in excellent condition, done well there.

barrybreslau

Better to only spend £35 on something you will get to use twice a year.

20DefMan

Happy days then cheers!

jonsey_j

This is pretty much the only BBQ you will ever need. Of course it doesn't hurt to have more than 1 or 2 or 3 or .... Happy cooking

Background_Hurry9381

This chap knows his stuff 👍

NeilDeWheel

£35, with a cover, you have there what’s called a bargain.

Ok_Profile9400

Totally and it looks like it’s been used exactly 3 times

20DefMan

The couple I brought it from insisted they've had it for years. In all fairness that doesn't necessarily equate to extensive use but I'm very happy with the condition of it. Thanks a lot!

Ok_Profile9400

Well they’ve looked after it, looks nothing like mine but then again I use mine multiple times a week all year round

Eggsfortea88

You mean bought it’s from?

International-Bat777

You totally overpaid, buyer saw you coming. Honestly can't believe how much you paid for that piece of shit BBQ. I'll take it off your hands for £35.

20DefMan

Buggar, if I've messed up that badly the best I will do is £25, delivery included.

hashmanuk

And then you turn up to deliver it and he says sorry mate I've only got a twenty will that do.....

glennyboy961

You got a webber for £35? Where from? Either you got a great deal or you're messing with us...

Old_Muggins

Yeah that’s what I was thinking 🤨

20DefMan

Not at all messing with anyone, travelled an hour into the sticks and picked it up off a couple that lived in a rather nice looking farmhouse, FB marketplace. I can't find the ad for it but here's the conversation I had with the lady. https://preview.redd.it/mwsfin37su9d1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0d4551ec1b6c78ab09ee1faf4897e4324dd75454

KingD88

You got an absolute bargain! Best thing with these is looking into coal arrangements, when they get hot they can burn through a lot of lump wood as they are not insulated or very thick, I would arrange some briquettes in a ring around the middle with lump wood in the middle to give you some areas cooler you can make sure things are cooked through Also, despite what some people will tell you they are designed to have the lid on 99% of the time while cooking Recommendations to get along with it is a starter chimney and a descent temperature sensor and food thermometer

Nedonomicon

I had this one before , pretty decent , just grabbed the next model up for £90 and extremely happy so far

Adihd72

They’re a good starter bbq, should see you through a few seasons before you fancy a change :)

20DefMan

Thank you! I'm just looking at getting started up, think I'll go and buy a chimney starter off of Amazon and some tools to start and see how I get on from there!

SorryIGotBadNews

Chimney starter is a must! Seeing as you got such a bargain on the BBQ, do yourself a favour and buy a Weber one - usually available in a package deal with some decent coal for around £30, and will last you a lot longer than the £10-£15 options you’ll see on Amazon (rust issues)

mcl3007

Can confirm Weber chimney is quality. Mines approximately 7 years into abuse and it's only got small blemishes. It's been used a lot and left outside in the rain quite a bit too. I've also cooked ontop of it with a skillet.

SorryIGotBadNews

Oh that’s a great idea! What did you do in the skillet

mcl3007

Steaks, sliced potatoes etc... anything you can do in a pan, but especially if it's messy!

20DefMan

Much appreciated I was going to ask if the cheap ones were silly, I'll get the Weber one.

kaizoku7

https://amzn.eu/d/067vQN32. The Weber chimney is a bargain £17 on Amazon right now, just had it delivered yday, quality

newfor2023

I've got the same bbq and chimney. Does work well.

International-Bat777

Bargain

EnragedGibbon

Exact one i have! Paid 75 brand new, good bargain! im not a BBQ expert but its really good! Only down side for a noob like me is no thermometer on there, im looking to buy one that clips on the grill, but regardless its great for just cooking over fire, ive tried a few snake methods with varying results (using a meat probe only) still learning!

thelastwilson

£35 is an absolute steel even second hand. I've always had cheap supermarket BBQs and upgraded to a Weber master touch kettle last year. It's a huge difference, and if you ever do need to or just fancy getting a replacement grill you won't have a problem getting one the right size. I never wanted a kettle but I listened to what people said and do not regret buying one except for the fact I paid a lot more than you. Now I highly recommend looking at the rotisserie attachment. Most amazing chicken I've ever eaten. Search this sub and you should find a few posts.

Vanilla_EveryTime

Jammy. Did the cover come with it? I paid £28 just for the cover for mine. Weber has a good name. I just got my first one too and have tried it out once when the sun appeared for a day. If summer ever comes, it’ll be well used. Food turned out well but I felt it just tasted the same as if cooked in the kitchen. I was expecting some sort of magic chargrill taste. Have bought the wood chips for the next time. I fully expect that to be spectacular!

twonaq

Bargain well done

Theknottyfox

Yeah that been used twice, I clean mine with a steam gun and it never looks that good. Learn the two zone cooking method, and get a starter chimney and a thermo pen, can be the cheep lolly pop one. Learn to cook to temp.

hallsy98

Loving your username - osrs and bbq’ing are two top tier hobbies.

snorkrat

Weber are top quality, and the kettle's are so versatile. Enjoy!

J_ClydeBeck

Weber! Good choice.

TruthSeeker890

Absolutely brilliant. A fantastic BBQ

javahart

Very good find. I’ve had a Webber for 10 years and it’s so good. Only do around 10 BBQ’s a year but always use a chimney to get coals started.

2Nothraki2Ded

It's a classic.

Iwantedalbino

I got mine mispriced at a garden centre for £55. It’s an absolute tank at taking abuse and keeping on trucking. 10 years on

Similar_Quiet

I paid more than that for a lower model about a decade ago and had to buy a cover separately. My BBQ is holding up great ten years later. The only blemish is a huge scratch on the kid where it blew over in high winds once

SaddleBishopJoint

I have one of these. With cover. Paid a lot more than £35. Used it many times, never let me down. You've got a great deal and a great tool. Enjoy!

El_Wij

I've got one, they are awesome. They run really hot though and cook really fast.

OkArcher5827

£35 nice one normally a lot more than that

st_jim

Great deal! The only thing it’s missing is a temperature dial. But otherwise you have a cracking bit of kit. (It’s not that necessary unless you do long cooks slow and low - think 6hr pulled pork @110c, then you need to regulate your temperatures. You can add them aftermarket - I did on my portable Webber, just buy the temperature gauge and carefully drill a hole in the lid with an appropriately sized metal drill bit.)

AgentLawless

Had this bbq for many years and it is a beast. Paid more for it too I believe it was £50 when I had it from Argos about a decade ago. More than paid itself back what a monster. Enjoy.

BeginningConnect600

I have the same one, which was my dads before me..he probably had it 15 years..so should last you a while. Enjoy the last few days of summer

Dcj91

£35 for a Weber? Absolute bargain.

maddie673

Great bbq, we’ve got one. Make sure you get one of the chimney starter things and you will be cooking in 10mins.

ArgumentativeNutter

Use the cover and it will last ages, leave it in the rain without and it’ll be ruined in a year. Get a chimney to light it, way better than using fire starters. One sheet of newspaper and proper lumpwood and you’re good to go.

PopTrogdor

I would, if you haven't already, get a chimney and some char baskets https://www.weber.com/GB/en/accessories/accessories-by-barbecue-type/charcoal-barbecue-accessories/char-baskets/7403.html https://www.weber.com/GB/en/accessories/accessories-by-barbecue-type/charcoal-barbecue-accessories/7416.html There are cheaper ones out there, but this gives you an idea. The char baskets are the best as you get to move the coals about, depending on where you have food etc. AND the chimney is good as it gets the brickettes fired up quicker

Toffeemade

I got exactly the same one as. a cast off as my mate found it missing the lower grill - I bought a replacement grill for about £7 of AliExpress. I am no bbq expert! 1) I find laying 3 small fire lighters next to the lower vent hioles over a a perforated newspaper fan and a handfull of balled newspapers in the base will light the charcoal on the lower rack reliably with one match. You'll be cooking in 20 - 40 minutes depending on the wind conditions. 2). It runs hot and I use a raised grill that sits 2 inches above the top grill to cook more slowly. 3) The fittings appear to be AF so disassembly may require careful use of an adjustable - I am resigned to just leaving mine up. Good luck.

duckfelloutofthebag

That's a bbq alright

Nescient_Jones

I suggest using only 100% natural wood charcoal and not briquettes. They burn cleaner. Have fun!

Drunken_Begger88

12 quid and you get much the same outa Poundland only difference is no wheels but I don't tend to take my BBQ for a walk and also no cover. But it does look cool.

LimitUnable

Very good. You can grill and smoke pretty much anything on that. Good buy

JSHU16

You've done great to get a Weber in good condition at that price. They're a good style of BBQ for quick cooks like burgers etc and it'll last you a good few years. If you end up really getting into BBQ for longer cooks, joints of meat etc then look into something like a Kamado as a treat in the future. Should last you a lifetime.

blackhaz2

OMG you'll have one of the best burgers you've ever had.

-Its-420-somewhere-

BIFL

jacks2224

I once picked one of these up from the side of the road, I never realised how popular they are, I thought I just got a standard unwanted bbq lol I ended up giving it to the scrap man because I wanted a different one.

Radiant-Teach-5264

In South Africa they braai everything and the Weber is generally considered to be the best kit available

sveferr1s

Am I the only one who was ready to dash to Tesco to pick up a Weber for 35 notes?

blademansw

Absolute gift at that price. Get a four channel inkbird off Amazon, decent chimney starter and if you can stretch to it a Thermapen One, there’s also a handy magnetic temp chart on their website. If you want to try smoking get your wood from Goulden woods.

Adventurous-Sale9469

Those are the best. So a spatchcock chicken. Baste the chicken and also put a tray of water with some lemon under the grill… you can do your Sunday roast that way… they are the best.

oodjamaflip

I got the same a couple of years ago. Fabulous piece of kit, well done

esspowell

Cannot go wrong with a weber kettle and that price is a steal too. As you can see it's in great nick even after years of probably sitting outside. Many cheaper bbqs would have rusted and fallen apart even with minimal use in that time. Tons of good BBQ guidance on YouTube, attend a BBQ class if you get into it (great experience and you'll learn a lot - look for 'the smokin elk' and 'country wood smoke', there's others like Highgrange in Devon as well). Decent charcoal is arguably as important as your ingredients. Find a nice local (as local as you can find) charcoal maker and support them. My mate Ryan makes charcoal and his is some of the best I've used - big chunks that burn super hot for a long time. Always use lumpwood for grilling. If you move toward doing very long smoke-style cooks then briquettes will be a necessity (and you'll need to learn how to set up the kettle for a long cook, indirect heat) but I'd start off grilling and then move on to that.

Background_Hurry9381

There isn't much you cant cook on a kettle, I got a 57cm one at Christmas and have been bbqing atleast once a week since. There isn't much I haven't tried on it, smoked racks of ribs, pulled pork, smash burgers, hot dogs, beef ribs, steaks, whole chickens and I even did a 22hour full brisket. They are so versatile!

sweaty_middle

Should be fine, it's just a shame that the UK summer is now over. You have had your 5 days of sun, now it's back to our usual overcast skies.

DustyTalAntiQ

Keep it covered mate. That model rusts REAL easy

Spannerfyvie9705

One of the best Barbies ever made. You got a bargain there mate.

dust_of_the_cosmic

Had one of these that lasted years, I neglected it and was surprised it lasted as long as it did

Gc1981

I paid the same for the same. Great little kettle. Buy the little charcoal baskets. I only really use it now for searing things I've slow cooked on something else.

Sedalin

They're great. I have one for a good few years now and it sits outside without the cover constantly through all the seasons. Safe to say they'll probably survive nuclear warfare without as much as a scratch. Fantastic deal for this price.

Purple_Quantity_7392

It’s the best BBQ IMO. Very good price too. There’s plenty you can do with it, that you can’t with other brands. Even done our Christmas Turkey on it. Suggest you get a good Weber Cookbook.

SingleDebt2797

Perfect! Cheap, cheerful and will work perfectly! Nice find

Renegade9582

Now all you need is the summer weather. Oh wait! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Eggsfortea88

145 quid with a cover. Jealous

Constant_Depth_9707

A good purchase indeed!

Fair_Tangerine1790

Absolute bargain. Looks in great condition. Here’s to enjoying many years of BBQ food.

nuggybaby

Charcoal is expensive
