I call every time now because incompetent restaurants are pretty slimy and will tell the 2nd driver that you took the food.
Call Uber and tell them what's happening and that you're leaving without the food with audio and video evidence as proof if needed.

It’s not fair that restaurants don’t receive the same penalizations we do.
- a restaurant can refuse to make an order which causes multiple driver to cancel and slow the system down. but we receive a penalty if we cancel the order (unless we call support and waste time letting them cancel it for us)
- restaurants will be closed and leave the tablet on bringing many drivers to the restaurant just to find out that the store isn’t even open. wasting the time of so many people with no penalty.
it’s just so annoying

Yes you can contact uber support, they will pass it on the the restaurant operations team. But many people need to do this for anything to happen.
