I guess English language sphere is behind times. Madyar's batallionn has been expanded to a separate regiment. It is now one and only separate uav regiment in the known universe. And it needs thousands of people to staff it. He posted an informative 20 min video about it. As far danger to pilots. It's severe. They are the most sought after target on the line of contact.
Apparently, from what I have read, this will be a newly formed battalion. I do not know how many battalions he controls, or how many other drone companies or drone battalions are out there. Maybe someone from the AFU could comment, without giving up OPSEC information.
They were a battalion, now upgrading to a regiment. Most brigades used to have an attack drone company (RUBpAK), but a lot of them have been upgraded to unmanned systems battalions (BBS) recently. E.g. Strike Drone Company (47 OMBr), Raroh (24 OMBr), Nebesna Mara (43 OMBr), Bulava (72 OMBr)

Reality is, at least for the very many small drones, they're not far behind the lines and well within artillery range.
