This was actually pretty expected for me. I’ve seen videos similar to this and there’s only two outcomes.
Sink full of dirty dishes, or something, naughty (like anal)spelled on the bedsheets with rose petals
My favorite was the one where the guy found some evidence his gf was cheating on him. He did all the candles and flowers stuff just to have her read a poem that ends with something like "Who the hell is \[Name of affair partner\]" and while she's still shocked he just leaves.
Yeah it's misogynistic if the joke is about preparing your female partner for a wonderful, thoughtful surprise and then intentionally hurting her for laughs by making a misogynistic joke at her expense.
It’s specifically misogynistic because of sociocultural contexts. Historically (and in modern day), women are expected to engage in domestic labour. There is a massive bias in the amount of domestic labour women engage in compared to their men counterparts, to this day, women still do more despite employment rates levelling out within those two genders. It’s simply seen as ‘woman’s job’, because of sexism, and that bias permeates into people’s minds.
With that context, leading your partner — who’s a woman — to a sink fully of dirty dishes, purposing tricking her by making it seem like a romantic gesture at first, is driven by gender. This person, whether they think it’s ‘just a joke’ or not, is purposely mocking their partner with sexist overtones for laughs online. It’s gross and misogynistic, with no respect for their partner or their feelings.
I'm actually quite capable of discerning the difference between "mean" and "misogynistic" and this particularly shitty little act was both mean *and* misogynistic. Since I *have* explained why, and others have explained why, I have no reason to believe you do not understand why the shitty little mean act was also misogynistic.

Almost every post in this sub is expected
Maybe we're all just jaded.
The real issue is we are on r/unexpected, so we expect the unexpected.

I thought you were referring to the Monty Python gif for a second there. We almost had words.
The only things unexpected were the friends we made along the way...
Same, as soon as I saw the roses I knew.

how about anal spelled out in dirty dishes?
Would have only worked with dirty dishes spelling anal
It's Germany. We are years behind with Internet, so it's only natural that we start posting things like this 5 years late.
So it's an either or situation, then...?
I thought it was gonna be that she needed to start dinner but still wasn't surprised.
I saw one where the boyfriend and the guy she was cheating on him with teamed up and the surprise was that he was in the house.
Yup, did see it coming. Dishes or pile of laundry.
Both expected and never funny
every day we drift closer to r/expected
We didn't drift with this one. We teleported straight there.
But THAT was unexpected... right?
Just another lame remake.

Completely expected there are thousands of this video and the idea is really old
This was very expected since it's been done exactly like this before and you should feel bad.
OP is a newly created repot bot trying to get it's foot in the door of repost. Downvote and don't comment if you hate this shit.
Fuck your background music!
So f in old
This may be more fitting for r/watchpeopledieinside
Very expected.
He will be posting in Incel communities next about how women are dumb
They aren't ?
This skit has been done so many times that this was the immediate expectation

Imagine upsetting your lady for a video because that's more important to you than her
The only unexpected part is that he was smart enough to take the scissors out of her hands.
Unfunny, mysoginistic, and sad.

Well, it's not funny. What is even the joke? I'm a male, I don't get it, I wouldn't do that to my SO. It's misogynistic.

What after that!? Someone please
Sexist humour really gets the incels hard.

Why did she let the kitchen get such a mess in the first place? She knew she had work around the house to do. 😆
Expected. In fact, it's been done countless times. Same premise.
She had one job 😂😂😂😂😂
He bought new dishwasher

She's probably wondering if he's worth her time
I would divorce him.
Tbh he probably wouldn't marry you to begin with. ![gif](giphy|SAHGcjT1jNvDB6oxI8|downsized)
