Yes. He’ll get signed for the rest of the season and next. I’m expecting a lot of moves in the summer so I think he could be in line for 20mpg off the bench.

The way he's been playing absolutely. You can never have too much ballhandling and he's a really good defender. The thing with him has always been consistency and health. 5 games coming in late in the season is not enough to tell if he's a better player or if he's just playing his ass off because he's healthy and wants a contract. He seems to have worked a lot on his shot, though. That's huge.

Probably to back up Scoot :)

I don't think so. I think for the rest of this year yes, and he may be signed as a 3rd stringer next year, but I think we do a few moves that will move him out of the rotation even if he is signed for next year.

total_sith_show

Agreed. I’ve been impressed by Dunn, but if he’s getting major rotation minutes next year then we probably didn’t have a great offseason.

JoeIngles

Exactly. We have the cap space and the capital to go after who we want and trade for anybody we want, so if he is getting 15-20 mpg next year it'll be very disappointing. I've loved what Dunn has done, but there's a reason he was cut from teams and is only on a 10-day. He doesn't fit our timeline, and shouldn't be getting minutes on a real contending team that I think we can be next year if we move some pieces

UtahJazz420

It just doesn't make sense to pick him up long term. I don't know why people are pretending he is some missing key to our rebuild.

JoeIngles

100%. He’s a 3rd stringer who is given this bigger opportunity due to injuries and a tanking team. If we have a good off-season, he has no role on our team besides a third string PG who we would play very situationally

Zestyclose_Dirt935

i hope so, he’s been preforming really well off the bench

Thamor81

I voted Yes, but so many teams have given up on him so there is things that we don't see outside games as fans. My hope is he will get to continue here, but at the same time there must be reasons for him not making it in NBA. Easiest thing has been that his shot isn't falling that many teams gave up on him and injuries cost him too.

How far in the future? It’s like asking a few years ago about Georges Niang. Keep him? Yes. Let him go in a year or so? Probably.
