Just make sure you're using the right gun. I had a game once in a plat/diamond lobby where the top frag had 5% headshot rate. He was using classic phantom and judge with brimstone.
Brim is such a rat of a character, I love him. His smokes blocking vision make him insane with the shotgun, and his half way across the map molly, so many cheese kills you can get with him

Nice. But get into the habit of tapping heads or spraying at heads. Body spraying will work in lower elo, but you'll discover when you hit diamond everyone just shoots heads and it becomes harder to win gunfights if you only shoot bodies

They cant deal with it.
But its situational, but you cant rely on crouch sprays alone. You are gonna get one tapped so hard😅

He's having more fun because it works. When it will stop working, he'll have a way harder time getting used to tap headshot than he would now at lower rank
That's probably more of a positioning and peeking mistake on your end tbh. If you watch high radiant, these players aren't getting headshot instantly, their movement and peeking helps them stay alive longer. They also take gunfights differently, making their fights longer

But this wont work against a aimer.
You feel the difference in mechanical skills against a good aimer.

This might work in low ranks but it's not a sustainable way to seek improvement, taking the L early on and having less high kill games because you're playing to improve not kill will help in the long run

Smoke in general is good. Jett.. Clove now is a solo queue monster too.
These are exactly the reasons why I also like Brim. Stim + Smoke + Odin is also a good strategy. There you don't have to land headshots either.

Crosshair placement is the main thing, not so much aim.
Do you need aim, if your crosshair placement is perfect?

Im ascendant 3/immo and have like a 15% hs rate lmao. You really do not need headshots to get a high rank
15% hs means you are at least able to get headshots sometimes. If you flank and have 3 people with their back turned you need to get headshots
