It’s three teams that were extremely mid in conjunction with the best team in the region. Unlucky, really.
is everyone so sure that NRG clears immediately? their coach and core were known for taking a minute to warm up and they are putting a roster together that has 3 separate parts (Marved, Vic/Crashies, Demon1/Ethan). Yeah pre-existing synergy between the OpTic guys but its been over a year since they last played together. Also while I don't doubt Ethan IGL capabilities, its not obvious if he's gonna hit the ground running. Especially when yall saw them scrim records which iirc weren't the hottest. I just feel like NRG will have to fight tooth and nail.

To be fair,Sen and Lev were mid last year. If you look at this from last season's perspective then it's way better. Americas teams made a LOT of moves in the off season.
I mean so was LEV, they had the same record as SEN AND 100T, only difference being the won 1 or 2 more maps so they got into the playoffs where they were dead last
Still isn't much difference, considering the potential clout match ups.. Aspas returning to Loud, 100T vs SEN, Cryo vs Zekken etc you'd think from a purely business standpoint it would have been logical to swap the match ups in Group B
The fact that one of Sen, Loud, and Lev are GUARANTEED not to make it out of groups and qual is insane. Those are probably 3 of the top 5 teams on most peoples NA rankings atm. Also rip 100T, not a good way to get the confidence rolling

The craziest part about these awful groups is that if the #1 seed had the "core 3" rules then LOUD would be in group C and EG in group B. It solves everything.
A lot of people complaining about Riot but it's not their fault that Sen look massively better than last year and Lev had an insane roster rehaul. On paper Group B seems super mid looking at last year. It's just that you can't seed groups based on hype. Unless you let Riot have complete control over groups which I think would be worse.
Thats why fns was so pissed about the year starting with a seeded tournament. Most sports go for new year -> clean slate. Especially considering we had a 6 month off season

Did they use last years seeding for pools? I checked the article posted on valorantesports.com, and they say they used pools to allocate teams, but it doesn't go into how teams were sorted into pools

EG auto gets a bye for being top team at Champs
Pool 1 is other teams that made Champs: NRG LOUD
Pool 2 is LCQ winners and top performers: KRU LEV C9
Pool 3 are the mid LCQ teams: FURIA 100T SEN
Pool 4 is ascension team and last place team of LCQ: G2 MIBR
My 2 cents for whos gonna get out of groups.
Group A: NRG and Furia, yes I'm Brazilian, and NRG and Sen are the only teams in NA I can get myself to believe in.
Group B: it's hard, but my heart says Loud and Leviatan, besides 100losses, either team that gets out of groups will have a net positive Brazilian player, kinda a win win scenario.
Group C: obviously G2 and my d20 toss said that Kru will be the other team to make out. Even though I dislike keznit, can't deny he was damn good end of last year
