The quality of the build on this camera and the photos has blown me away. While this isn’t that old (from 2010 I believe) it still has that CCD sensor that gives me the vibe I was looking for and takes fabulous photos so far.
Going on a trip through California and Disneyland for 3 weeks and I find that I really dislike any photos I take on my phone and last vacation I went on I found myself taking so few photos. I’m new to photography and have a DSLR but don’t want to lug that around. Maybe I’m crazy but I just find photos with my iPhone 11 Pro Max can be nice but lack so much depth and colors feels washed out and I hate the experience of taking phones on the phone and trying to get my phone out of my backpack. Maybe I’m crazy.
Will share photos as I experiment and as soon as I get a card reader lol.
That’s exactly what I was going for! I plan on getting another that’s older and lower megapixels but I didn’t want to jump too far and have just bag photos for my vacation. So this felt like a good middle ground.
Not bad deal at the end you having fun and using it fro documenting...for 20 it's great ..where I live someone would be bold to charge me at least 500 bucks
Very cool style on that little cam, for sure. Can't wait to see some photos. Does it have built in effects? I like to try BW mode and the highest ISO the camera can muster. I often get some amazing "grainy" photos that l really like when I push the camera that way.
Have a good trip!
you assume i am good at taking photos lol.
but also i wanted an actually good quality "older" camera (again this isnt that old really compared to other digital cams). i do plan on getting lower megapixel cams but this is my first one and for this trip i do want the photos to look nice.
i have been messing around with it and while the photos are clear, they absolutely have a different feel or depth or something to them that i have been unable to replicate on my phone. im new to photography so i dont know all the terms.
It's not about the megapixels. Perhaps the sensor or built in effects will give OP the aesthetic they're looking for. the lens also plays a part. We'll see when we get some shots in four weeks!
here are some shots from this cam i posted here

way to necro just to be a weirdo bro. its over 10 years old, plus i have over 40 cams now. this was my first one, hence the title of "reintroduction to digicams"
maybe when someone is new to a hobby or interest, instead of shitting on people say something like "wow cool first find! you should check out \*cool other camera that fits your definition of vintage\*" and encourage someone to explore their excitment about a new hobby.

seems like an ideal camera for vacation! solid quality/resolution on par with phones, and easily pocketable.

It seems to have a lot of modes and options and ways to manually mess with the ISO and other things which will be fun to explore!
14 megapixels is a lot tbh. The pics might just look like normal good quality pictures.
