Let the specialist who does your demo know you’re starting a small business and they can open an apple business account for you! Will be very helpful down the line as your business grows
I’m going to start by getting an order of 250 enamel pins of one of my photos and try and sell them locally at bars just hanging out in the smoking garden and trying to get enough out to afford the cost
After that I want to start an apparel brand but I know nothing about actually becoming a business or how that works
Could you explain a little?
Hey OP, let the specialist that gives your demo know about what you have planned, Apple has a business team in every retail location dedicated to help small business or even people that have an idea of a business. They can assist you with marketing/advertising and invite you to networking events too. Apple Business is one of the lesser known things that they offer but arguably one of the coolest.
Can you please share more? I run a small business with close to $1M in revenue. I've never even considered opening Apple Business Account since I saw no value in it, I figured we're to small to get anything out of it.
Sorry for the late reply, Apple’s business team doesn’t care about the size of you company it could be several thousand employees or just yourself selling things in your community. It doesn’t cost anything and it’s pretty cool cause you’ll get a direct line of contact to one of the business specialists that work in the store. If you have any needs you can contact them. One of the cooler things done recently in my local store, they allowed a bunch of business owners into the store before opening to demo Apple Vision Pro and showcased things that could specifically support business!
No that’s not what culture is lol I’m a big Apple fan, I use exclusively Apple products, but in the end they’re a company that makes tools for people to use.
It’s like saying Milwaukee tools are your biggest passion.
I think I wasn’t clear. It’s about marketing. I suggest you a book called “This is Marketing” by Seth Godin.
It’s a short great book about exactly this.
People say marvel is their passion too and marvel is a corporation too. People love aviation and in the end that's also about knowing about what products Boeing and Airbus, two huge corporations, make. People love basketball and collect cards made by Panini and the NBA. People love video games made by Nintendo. People collect sneakers made by Nike. People are fans of Studio Ghibli and A24 two companies. And so on. Corporations are part of our culture
Marvel isn't a corporation its a Publisher of american comics. But either way, I cannot understand why someone would make a company their passion. I can understand the hobby of reading comics, or playing video games, watching anime, collecting collectables. Sure those things you do for fun. Building computers, or creating software I get it. But loving a company is...well. They don't love you back.
I already explained this to you, you weirdly are leaving my other examples out of the conversation as if i haven't mentioned them. I will edit my original comment to make you stop being so stupid about it.
Here: "People say they love airplanes and in the end that's also about knowing about what products Boeing and Airbus, two huge corporations, make. People collect sneakers made by Nike, they're fans of specific car brands like Ferrari, Tesla, or BMW, following their latest models, technological advancements. Watch enthusiasts follow brands like Rolex appreciating their craftsmanship. And so on. Corporations are part of our culture."
There you go, please stop mentioning Marvel pretend i never said it because you and your lack of understanding of how someone might love engineering make you cling to Marvel like it's the only thing i mentioned.
Art is not only pretty colors on a canvas, it's much wider than that.
And Marvel IS a corporation, what makes you think it isn't?
I believe you are confusing me with another commenters.
But i agree with all your statements. I have no problem with people like airplanes, or cars and the companies that make them.
My issue was if you just love the company that makes them. The difference is do you like headphones? Or do you like airpods (because apple makes them).
Do you love movies? Or do you only like apple tv because apple makes it.
My issue is its a company. No need to glaze apple. Unless you own the company or have stock.
I question the cult-like love of a specific figure or group.
Everything you just described is art or entertainment. That’s why I made the distinction I made and used the example I used. These are, fundamentally, tools for people to use. That can’t be said for any one of your example cases, and I think they’re distinctly different.
Engineering and design and those type of things are also a form of art and people can be passionate about it. Boeing is definitely also making tools (planes) not art for the sake of art. Shoes are also tools, not art. Not sure what you mean. Do you have any sort of cognitive or mental hindrance that makes you forget shoes are protection that goes on your feet? You can love the craft, in the same way one can collect china dishes or spoons you can love the way Apple designs and crafts their devices or you can be a developer and like their platforms and frameworks
I would also make the same assumptions about anyone claiming that Boeing (who you’ve really latched onto) or Nike was a “passion” of theirs. Those people seem like idiots to me unless they work in those industries.
I agree that the tech/art intersection exists, but what you’re describing is cult behavior in consumerism. It’s gross.
No I think it’s a pretty popular opinion that having a consumer obsession as a primary personality trait is lame as hell. It’s like guys whose main identity is the truck they drive.
A “Boeing” enthusiast is likely just an aviation enthusiast. If they corrected that to say “no my passion is only for Boeing products” yes I would assume they have something wrong with them.
This is not good advice to someone who said that they cannot afford something. If they cannot afford to lose $3,000 from their account, they should not take on the debt even if it is spread out across several payments. It is not a necessity and an extra $300 out of their account each month will only put more stress on their financial situation.
True but $300 extra a month isn’t that much more and it’s interest free I was just giving them an option I know it’s not always a good idea to go into debt to buy something.

thanks!
Set up an etsy shop and I'd be happy to buy a pin to help you save up!
Same boat! Starting a business and hopefully putting Vision Pro as a business expense
If money is tight and you don’t have a clear and present use case for this that you’re sure it can live up to, I recommend sitting it out.
Apple is your…. Biggest passion..?
Exactly.. how can a corporation be anyone’s passion? Do they have some cool tricks, yeah. But passion?
That’s called culture. Apple is culture.

So you feel superior to people because of this?

Congrats! What’s your company?
I want to be a designer/artist
I also want to talk to the Apple employees about the IT certifications to have a career while I learn more about art and design
I’ll sell you mine. I love it, but I can’t afford it either.
What’s the size?
Selling mine for $2900.00, 512 GB if you’re interested
If you get an Apple Card you can finance it for like $300 a month that what I’m doing rn

Starting a business when you can't even afford a $4k expense is a recipe for disaster. Sorry to be the one to tell you that.
I’m selling pins to afford a Vision Pro, not anything serious
Ah, well that's just called a fundraiser. Good luck with it.
