Hey there, a similar timeline for me as well. I thought it was dude to the COVID Moderna vaccine. However, someone took the time to help me debunk that here on Reddit.
There are several things you can do to combat acceleration. However, it should all start at the dermatologist’s office. They can provide you Opzelura (if you’re in the USA) and light therapy.
I’m about 4 months into using it and I’m starting to see my spots go away. I have it on the inside of my right arm. All the best.
Both regular infections and vaccines can trigger autoimmune diseases. That's no surprise since a vaccine was made to mimic an immune response like from an actual infection.
I'm very curious how anyone can prove vaccines can't trigger autoimmune diseases, because they can. They already did so before covid.

Just few, there are many more. Those vaccines can cause a huge list of side effects.
Hey do you mind sharing what debunked the Moderna connection for you? I’m pretty convinced that’s what triggered mine (mid 30s with very rapid onset and spread), and my doctor and dermatologist are exploring that with me currently as all my blood work is fine. Would love to know what changed your view if you feel that’s ok to share. I’m in no way anti-vax, just the timing was uncanny!
I am feeling stupid for getting my kid vaccinated (we did it because her grandparents are high risk), but I am starting to think it gave her vitiligo...
Maybe she was destined to get it, but this flared it? I have seen peer reviewed papers documenting that it is 100% possible.
Hey yeah mine started from just Covid then I got sunburnt real bad then it slowly changed my hair from regular to white now but it hasn’t spread and it’s been like 2 years now. But yeah I just got the opzelura to try it out but I haven’t done any light therapy before. I was told by the dermatologist wasn’t much I could do about my hair 🤷🏻♂️ so idk I’ve just always thought it was weird
Same exact thing happened to me. Covid started. I golf a lot. Had a little too much sun on my face and eyebrow and eyelash turned white without the skin affected. It took 2 years for my skin to start turning
Best of luck! Friendly reminder: just in case your dermatologist didn’t mention it, but after applying it, be sure to wash your fingers (unless it’s an affected area.)
I have been sick with covid
in 2021 and 2022,
in 2023 my vitiligo started to noticeably progress,
there are new spots on the hands ...
ps I have vitiligo for 10 years
I am 50 and got Vitiligo after Covid, I am also vaccinated, I wish I had never done that! ….my dermatologist was shocked to see someone my age. It’s all over my body and on my face which really sucks.
Vitiligo started for me in 2011 at age 46. Slowly progressed mainly on hands and feet and around mouth until 2021. I had Covid that year and then received Moderna vaccine. Vitiligo started spreading rapidly after the vaccine. Legs, arms, neck and face are now over half de-pigmented.
I got mine after my flu shot. There's going to be something that kick starts your immune system is what my doctor said. Could be a cold, a burn, infection or even a vaccine. Same with other immune disorders such as type 1 diabetes
Why couldn't they? They can cause a long list of side effects.

People already come here scared at times and looking for support and nasty people like you come here just to spread lies and conspiracy theories. Honestly shame on you people doing malicious things like this just to spread fear for laughs.
I give you the facts. Both infections as well as vaccines can trigger autoimmune diseases. You should be ashamed trying to lie about this. People come here for honest information, not fairy tales. Please educate yourself and stop selling people fake news.
if knowledge scares you then you shouldn't be on the Internet in the first place.
My mother is a nurse and she said the same thing, since vaccines do trigger the immune system, when a person has a predisposition (and many other factors that i dont even know about), it can trigger the onset of some diseases.
My whole family has been vaccinated since forever, and guess what, I'm the only one with an autoimmune disease. My vitiligo started after the the first covid vaccine shot. Its not hard to do 2+2=4.
I'm not telling this to "scare" people (as u said), but its good to hear that someone else's, more or less, has gone through the same experience and the same doubts about it.
Shit happens in life and you have to deal with it. Being scared of knowledge won't help you for sure.
this was my experience and the experience of many other. You can think whatever you want but this is what happened to me and I'm quite sure it's correlated. I have talked with doctors and they agreed with me, it's not sure but mostly likely.
I'm not saying that people shouldn't get vaccines. I'm just saying that my vitiligo was most likely triggered by covid vaccine.

Yes, my boyfriend got vitiligo in a very similar way post COVID. I am on this forum for him. :/ If you google it there are a lot of cases with similar new vitiligo stories after the vaccine.
Try to read something instead of spreading misinformation.

It’s not fake news. You said it yourself, the vaccine can trigger side effects. This particular time, my boyfriend and OP suffered with a side effect of vitiligo. What about that sounds fake to you?
I agree with you of course. I'm replying to someone else who thinks I shouldn't say all this because it scares people. Well I'd rather be properly informed. I got vitiligo too, and eosinophilic esophagitis.
I got vitiligo after Covid too! I’m 30
My boyfriend was 37 when he got it.

Mine actually turned the one side of my hair white! Has yours spread any? Mine hasn’t since but super weird
Are you using light therapy or Opzelura?
I just started using opzelura this week
Best of luck! Friendly reminder: just in case your dermatologist didn’t mention it, but after applying it, be sure to wash your fingers (unless it’s an affected area.)
I’m using Opzelura. I haven’t used the light therapy as of yet.
How was Opzelura worked for you? I just started a few days ago.
Vitiligo after a sunburn seems pretty common. No matter what, you were predisposed to get it.
I’ve had vitiligo since I was 2, but I noticed a massive spread of mine after having Covid in January 2021.

Did you get vitiligo after Covid or the vaccination? What treatments are you doing if any? Thanks in advance.

Stop lying vaccines don’t cause vitiligo. Go spread your garbage fake conspiracy crap elsewhere.
Okay first.. Chill. It's an event that triggers an immune system response.. Ask your doctor before jumping to conclusions
