Get them to complete the arching quest and the fortuna mission atleast. Try not to use all weapons you get from the story or make up some lie🤷

i think they only have to play through vors prize alone my advise is play the game with them not for them. Use "simple" equipment, standart variants... you dont have to forma / potatoe the gear anyway.. you have knowledge and will perform better than he does.. with the same equipment

KnightofDis

Just play something like Wisp or Rhino. Use whatever, let them play and just help when they need it. GUIDE THEM THROUGH MODDING PLEASE! Modding is a kill screen for a lot of players.

Assuming they're doing to classic intro and not Duviri, it takes about an hour to play through to the point where you can join a squad - maybe a little faster if you're helping them over voicechat or something, maybe a little longer if they want to read all their codices and explore their ship and stuff. As for helping them to get started, my best advice would be - just take off all of your mods. You're going to be fighting level 3 Grineer, so you won't be at risk, and then when your friend starts to pick up a few decent mods you can start adding yours back in again until you're playing evenly.

Most of us have frames that we never use and haven't leveled up. the same for weapons. Use those and follow their lead. If they want to explore areas that you know is a waste of time, let them explore. No nuking, and don't buff them too much, because they will feel like trash if your speed motes, free energy or invulerability are not available when you aren't tagging along. You probably have frames in your foundry that can be built and used on your playthrough with them. How far along are you in the game? You want to play together while sharing knowledge, but not information overload.

I’m MR22, kind of around a netracell/SP clearing/incarnons phase. Atm I’m thinking maybe just mod down umbra, skin him as base excal, buy back the Mk1 weapons for creds?

Jimiwas

you probably have a base frame in your inventory or go to the clan dojo and get one of those frames and some basic weapons. you will have better mod capacity, so maybe talk thru your modding process so they can understand what is happening, maybe start with the empty mods instead of your maxed ones. what you want to do is level up your gear with them, you can explain the entire process in real time. i would not take level 30 stuff and definitely not forma'ed stuff. Just what I would do, I wish I could get someone to start over with. Good luck.

Gimping yourself to nothing is a wild recommendation. Just toss on a semi auto rifle/bow, take off the multishot and have fun being a new player again. Give a prime set or two, dont give mods(with the occasional exception). Call it a day.
