Probably not. He probably taught the dog to get to the front seat through the front window and it's all fun and games until you want it to enter using a different behavior.
I want to judge this dude but as a dog owner of not but one but two dags I know how angry they can make me so I rather just take notes as to how he controlled his attitude. I want to be happy not miserable.
I was going to ask. Like did the dog cracked the window or something? It seem solid from the camera but it could have gotten a thin but big crack or something.
OMG - I have a yellow lab that's done this multiple times!
For context, I have a full size crew cab truck - the rear doors are about as big of an opening as you can find on any vehicle. On two different occasions, I've opened the door and she's been so excited she "missed" but she wasn't even close, she hit the door to the fuel-cap once (which is on the BED of the truck about 24" behind the door opening; the other time she hit above the rear wheel well (even further back).
On another occasion, she tried jumping in the door, but I hadn't opened the door yet! In the instant after I "paused" - I think partially because I'm amazed she can be this dumb, and I wanted to make sure she was okay - before I could open the door though, she tried jumping in again!
So seriously, if I take her away now, it takes two people - one to hold her back away from the truck, while the other opens the door and then guides her in.
We never should've named her "Dorrie" (spelled different, but sounds like the fish from Finding Nemo) because she's lived up to that name.
If you own something, saved enough money to get it, and care about it, even if it’s not something others would value highly—at the very least *you* should care about it.
The duality is funny here. I get the feel.
Our cat was being a dipshit and got his tail slammed in teh fridge door when I shut it. My first reaction was but FURIOUS with him, and I shoved his ass across the floor with my foot.
Then he kind of hunkered down and looked around, and looked at me with his standard apology meow, and I just melted and picked him up and comforted him for like 15 minutes.
But I get the same reaction with my kids. When they do something stupid that gets them hurt, I have to grab myself and remind myself "NOPE GOTTA COMFORT THEM RIGHT NOW" because my first reaction is absolute rage because someone just hurt my kid. Oh but wait my kid was the dipshit who hurt my kid, so I can't actually beat them up for it, I have to comfort them.
My dog gets stressed in the car, too, and VASTLY prefers the front seat. She wants those pets while we're going. If I'd forced her in like this dude I'm sure the problem would be even worse than this dog's by now.
My rescue is high anxiety and even in the front seat, all 50+ pounds of her tries to climb into my lap. She has a dog seatbelt in the back seat now 😂It actually helps calm her and she happily jumps in the back.
When my dog was a puppy she did this. All summer she could jump into the car whenever she wanted because it was too hot to keep the windows up. Fall rolled around and my dads getting ready to take her with him to visit my grand parents and before he could do anything she was already in the driveway running full gallop to jump into the car. SMACK, yelp, curse from my dad, head pats were given. She never did it again though, after that she’d always jump up and tap the window with her paws before deciding to jump. Fucked up my dads paint job tho
Looks like dog scratched the glass. There’s a red light that allows you to see the scratch. Once red light goes off due to inactivity you can’t see it. Red light comes one when he closes door and that’s when you see him inspecting it.
We just adopted a dog and he keeps trying to jump in my car and has left a few scratches. Luckily my car is 13 years old with other cosmetic issues so I don't care.
I love how the owner did 30 seconds of deep breathing to calm down how pissed he was that the dog scratched the car. What a good guy! And then calmly hugged the dog and put him in the back seat.
My sister’s corgi/chihuahua did this once, but she’s 13 ibs. But this is actually really wholesome how once he recovered from the shock he just snuggled the dog a bit.
I find it interesting that a lot of comments are framing this dog as stupid. The way I see it, the dog knew what they wanted and communicated it in a way they could.
My dog did that the other day but he goes in and out the back hatch. Saw me grab the handle and just sent it before anything opened. Both of us had a little wtf moment. He has also jumped the gun a few other times and smacked his head on the opening hatch.
Had a Heeler that loved car rides. She would chase me to the end of the driveway if I'd leave. One day she was getting to close to the truck. I slowed down & she took a fast leap at my window, which was closed. Didnt break it but proved how Heeler's heads are designed extra thick.
My big boy tried to jump in my front seat and just froze standing on my center console. He completely tore it up. I was mad for a about 10 seconds, and realized I love my dog way more than a fucking console. I absolutely love my dog's.
This shows how damn loyal and trusting dogs are. Dog misunderstood the command but just thought "fuck it Brian knows best" and just sends it straight into the fucking window. Good boi.he just wanted to please.
This man did exactly what should he done this in situation. He sat in disbelief, got down to the dogs level to try not to seem like a threat, gave him a slight cuddle, kissed his noggin and quietly whispered “you dumb shit” before escorting the pup into the correct area
I can relate. When we go in the garage my dog stops dead in his tracks if I open the back door. Defeats the seat protector I bought for the back specifically for him. So I had to get them for the front seats too. He will only sit in the back if he has company back there.

Have a doberman. I guarantee he's not mad because stuff like this happens all the time. After I'd say $2k of damage that dog did as puppy (we're totaling around 3.5-4k now at age 3) whenever something bad happens I've taken it at face value and don't yell anymore. It's just the price I pay for having a 90lb puppy who's too smart and dumb for his own good. Lots of deep breathing exercises and a moment like that guy did.
I've done that hug too. That hug was a reminder, "I love you you're a dog, my dog, it's not your fault. I FUCKING LOVE YOU SO MUCH I'm not going to get mad" \*\*grits teeth\*\* Kisses to make it hurt less for the both of us\*\*
There’s a color red on the broken window. I hope the dog’s fine and didn’t get wounded. Props to his owner also for keeping his cool. Windows can be replaced, dog’s love is much more valuable.
I went to open my car door for the dog, didnt realise the door was still lock so my fingers just strummed the handle and my hand came away from the door. It was to late thou, my 25kg lab was already hurling through the unopened door. Poor pup.

I think he did well. Gathered himself, then approached the dog. I think the dog knew he screwed up.
"This is for my tail"
This dog...is dumb.
Probably not. He probably taught the dog to get to the front seat through the front window and it's all fun and games until you want it to enter using a different behavior.
Thats not a bright doggo :o
" do I look like a back seat dog to you?"
I wouldn't have been able to not beat him
He did something, you can hear the dog whine.
Listen closely. Its that dude wheezing while hugging dog
Hope you're right. I listened closer and it still sounds like a dog whining, not a dude wheezing to me though.
Me neither
than you should not have pets
5th smartest breed???... except this one.
This is why you always use a leash for this cases.
Car looks mostly unharmed... This is so hilarious
I can't be angry with you!
well, i am happy he loves his dog at least
Did he call the dog a bitch when she jumped on the car?
I heard "no backseat" just fast
He doesnt know how to drive. Or does he?
I want to judge this dude but as a dog owner of not but one but two dags I know how angry they can make me so I rather just take notes as to how he controlled his attitude. I want to be happy not miserable.
I can’t tell if he’s laughing or crying at the end
I think thats wheezing first and then laughing by how stupid that was
Nothing even happened to the window though.
I was going to ask. Like did the dog cracked the window or something? It seem solid from the camera but it could have gotten a thin but big crack or something.
Dog: “nah son.”
Cheers to this guy for not scolding his dog for just being a dog
And he didn’t scream at or hit his dog like a lot of people would I like this video
And I know I screamed for a second but he didn’t start screaming shit at the dog like a lot of people would
Nice and wholesome haha
I feel this on such a level
Just let the dog in the front
The dog knows something we dont
It's unbelievable how dumb some dogs are.
I don’t feel bad when dumb things happen to dog owners who don’t leash their dogs
Most likely his own fault, he's been teaching the dog to jump through the open window
This
Watch me barkour off this door.
Lol, underrated comment
Honestly coming back 2 months later. Shit I didn't even remember writing this
I thought he was going to freak out on the dog. But it ended up being pretty wholesome.
break the window?
Scratch and dent the car.
I recommend having a sit and stay command before going through most doors. It gets them to focus on a task before letting the zoomies take over.
Awesome display of patience from this young man. I guarantee I wouldn't have reacted that way and makes me wish I was more like this...
Front seat or I ain’t goin
Haha, that “I love you but you’re killing me” hug
The dog has a terminal case of the dumb.

“You poor, beautiful, BEAUTIFUL idiot”
Why is he acting like that’s a nice car? 😂
Don’t be obtuse. It’s his property that he cares for and will have to pay to get it fixed. Besides it looks pretty new!
If you own something, saved enough money to get it, and care about it, even if it’s not something others would value highly—at the very least *you* should care about it.
What happened did he break the mirror

This is a weird reaction to me. Why the hands in the head? Is he disappointed? Just laugh and move on.
He can’t believe that his dog jumped into a closed door, damaging the car, and possibly hurting himself.
The dog probably scratched the shit out of the door
I mean, maybe… Even so, shit will buff out. Dudes way overreacting.
I dont think so, looks more like a "theres no way you actually just did that" than an actual freak out
Even the dog was standing around wondering what the fuck.
Human grabs head dog " hmmmm what happened, what you see there did someone pass Gas in there I mean I sniffed u I know u didn't do it?"
Why's he making it out to be a big deal tho
.
“Hello vet, yeah i need to get another one put down like asap”
My dog gets stressed in the car, too, and VASTLY prefers the front seat. She wants those pets while we're going. If I'd forced her in like this dude I'm sure the problem would be even worse than this dog's by now.

We have a seatbelt, too, my dog does not like it.
He’s standing the same way I did when the dog I was bringing inside tried to jump directly into a closed kennel
I’m glad I’m not the only who has to attack my dog with love when he does shit like this
When my dog was a puppy she did this. All summer she could jump into the car whenever she wanted because it was too hot to keep the windows up. Fall rolled around and my dads getting ready to take her with him to visit my grand parents and before he could do anything she was already in the driveway running full gallop to jump into the car. My dog did this & ironically the same breed too….
Nice human. You can just see him counting to 10.
My sister’s corgi/chihuahua did this once, but she’s 13 ibs. But this is actually really wholesome how once he recovered from the shock he just snuggled the dog a bit.
Quick question about the title, what does it says -Not OverPower- ?
Could tell, did damage happen to the car? I’m assuming so.
Bruh stop giving your doge adderall
I just want to be this healthy in my reactions. Damn.
Looks like someone’s taking a trip to the farm
Get a pug
~~Your~~ This Dad is a good person. I had to check it wasn’t on r\mademesmile after he hugged the doggy
He loves that dog so much.
Had one of those back in the day. Oh boy. Dude was nutssss.
And I thought my reactions were overdramatic
Isn't it just possible that the dog has poor vision?
Glass looks cracked. That’s not a very bright Doberman.
I'm looking for this overly dramatic reaction people keep whining about. Is there a link to a longer video showing that happening?
I want to marry him.
This dude just gave a lesson in anger management!
I don't RIDE in the back fool!
I find it interesting that a lot of comments are framing this dog as stupid. The way I see it, the dog knew what they wanted and communicated it in a way they could.
"No, YOU BITCH !!!" 🤣🤣🤣
If he's anything like me he's saying "I love you but why are you so dumb" when he leans to hug the doggy. My guy hears that's lot 🤣
I have had this feeling, I remember how mad I was when he did it and how much I miss him now when I see the scratch.
Bless their heart.
Dog quickly realized he fucked up lol
My dog did that the other day but he goes in and out the back hatch. Saw me grab the handle and just sent it before anything opened. Both of us had a little wtf moment. He has also jumped the gun a few other times and smacked his head on the opening hatch.
You can't have nice things when you have beloved doggos!

Dogs are dumb
Does insurances covers that?
“The door is open man” its nice to see even after an accident like this he finds a reason to laugh
Yup that's how my dog is... Fucking stupid with no clue how anything else. 😭
All pets owners have been there, gotta collect yourself before reacting😂😂😂
Respect the shotgun rules!!
That “human” looks and sounds like the character from Ozark on Netflix named Wyatt Langmore
He wanted to sit up front with his bestie. ♥️
Dogs of Hazard
I don’t see any difference in the car, can someone point it out for me so I feel like less of an idiot.
The window was closed
Ok so no damage to the car just an injured pride for the dog
It may be scratched, hard to see.
Looks like a black and tan coonhound. They are very stubborn.
I would not react like that and that not makes me a bad person ok!!!
This shows how damn loyal and trusting dogs are. Dog misunderstood the command but just thought "fuck it Brian knows best" and just sends it straight into the fucking window. Good boi.he just wanted to please.
is the car ok? So much cuteness attack
My dog managed to put the biggest crack in my windshield i've ever seen from bumping it with her head. She was perfectly fine tho.
This man did exactly what should he done this in situation. He sat in disbelief, got down to the dogs level to try not to seem like a threat, gave him a slight cuddle, kissed his noggin and quietly whispered “you dumb shit” before escorting the pup into the correct area
Dog might think it called shotgun, doesn't realise the guy is just thinking of getting a shotgun and going behind the shed...
I feel like I react the exact same way like twice a week to my psychotic kitten
Took him to the vet to be put down
I love my dog, and I dont think I get more angry with anyone in the world than my dog. She's just so fucking stupid.
Poor dog, got his tail cut :(
I can relate. When we go in the garage my dog stops dead in his tracks if I open the back door. Defeats the seat protector I bought for the back specifically for him. So I had to get them for the front seats too. He will only sit in the back if he has company back there.

I though that he wanted to ride shotgun!?
Poor pup. Hope he is okay.
This is how dogs are selected to make hotdogs..
Dog was like nah I fuvked up I don’t wanna go in cause I ain’t going to no damn pound.
Not a single brain cell
Pupper earned a trip back to the shelter 🫰🫰🫰

I don’t get the title. What does this have to do with a shotgun
Lol, when someone calls “shotgun”’ it means they’re claiming front passenger seat!
Aha!Thanks
r/DogsAreFuckingStupid
There’s a color red on the broken window. I hope the dog’s fine and didn’t get wounded. Props to his owner also for keeping his cool. Windows can be replaced, dog’s love is much more valuable.
That's some Einstein of a dog
The dog was yelling “shotgun” in his mind, you just happened to open the wrong door.
Why is it relevant that your dad send you this and that it was in a family group chat?
Dog’s mind: >Outside: check >Going into the car: check >Door opening sound: check Alright let’s jump into my usual spot!
Ohh no!!! My car is more important then you… my loyal four legged …
The way he gathered himself and then hugged the doggo is so cute
I went to open my car door for the dog, didnt realise the door was still lock so my fingers just strummed the handle and my hand came away from the door. It was to late thou, my 25kg lab was already hurling through the unopened door. Poor pup.
Bit of a overreaction.
"Who's a stupid boy, hm?"
