On paper the almost 50mm lug to lug should have been a giveaway but when I tried it on I couldn’t believe how well it fit. May just need some more getting used to.
I've been there (small wrist gang ✊😔), and to be honest I don't think you ever get used to a watch a little too big. You try to convince yourself but eventually you accept that it will always bother you and move on. My experience anyway.
I stand out here and say; Go for it if you like it!
Sure, it migt be on the edge, but not over the top, and a diver should be big.
It's a tool watch, not a dresser.
I wear a bit to big Breitling SOH with the excuse that a bling Breitling should be a bit over the top.
I’m in the “if you have to ask, then yes” school of thought.
That watch wears big just by design (colour, gold, bezel etc) and it’s also too large for me and we have the same size wrist. I put my max as 48-49mm lug to lug and about 39-40mm diameter depending on design.
If you like it, wear it, it’s not ridiculously large but for so much money I’d personally wear something that fit me perfectly.
Don’t get me wrong, I prefer subtlety especially when it comes to expensive watches. It’s a fine watch and you have good taste, and if you’re a “I’m here kind of a guy” go for it.
Agree. This is how it looks on my wrist in pics, but looks fine in real life. 42mm dial width/48-50mm lug to lug is the largest size I can reasonably pull off.
Thanks! I’m wearing it now and on the wrist it doesn’t feel huge, but when I look at pics it just seems so big. Maybe I need to improve my watch photography skills.
UPDATE: Had a few requests for a mirror pic, so here’s an incredibly awkward one I took this morning. Appreciate the lively debate and perspectives. Seems like the overall consensus is 50/50 currently

It doesn’t look bad in this photo at all! But if you want to make it look better, maybe start training your arms.
Next step: buy a hand gripper off amazon rn and bust your forearms
Funny enough, I was at the omega boutique at South Coast Plaza a few weeks ago and the sales associate, a petite woman, was wearing this watch on rubber. It looked pretty good on her! So in short - If you like it, wear it!
As an individual with a fairly flat 6.25” wrist who has tried the seamaster 300 on, it was too big for me personally. I’m more comfortable around the 38-40mm case size range. All depends on how much you like it. Sounds like you’re on the fence, maybe go try on a 38mm aqua terra, see how it feels!
Beautiful watch! Fellow small wrist gang member here with a green one. I think it looks fine, and if you love it, wear it, don't give a F what anyone else thinks!
That said, if the green teak 38mm AT was out when I made my purchase I probably would have snagged it over the 300m.
I had an SMP300 and I convinced myself it wasn't too big until I realized it was and sold it
Unfortunately Omega designed their movements to fit larger cases hopefully they'll make a 40mm SMP in the near future
IMO a dive watch with a rotating bezel is fine to wear slightly big, same with a pilots watch. The 38 AT would look good the 41 AT would look bigger than this because most of it is all dial.
Agreed. If the lugs aren't protruding from the sides of the wrist and it feels comfortable, then it's (for the most part) fine.
Also, this can differ a bit based on how high/low you're wearing the watch. Generally, I like to wear watches a bit low during autumn and winter so I can more easily check the time while wearing a jacket-- even though this comes at the cost of some wrist flexibility. On the other hand, there can be a need to wear it high while wearing riding or hiking gloves.
Ideally, you should buy something that can be worn in any necessary style, but if you're someone who finds themselves wearing full-size gloves and want a particular watch that is too large to be worn in the common position, then there is a circumstantial workaround for you to consider.
Some size is ok for a sport watch. I don’t think this fit looks bad for you at all. And I’m jealous though…my wrist is too big for all the cool 36-40 mm watches out there lol
It looks a bit big yeah, honestly even the 41 AT might work for you, this just also wears big as well with that bezel.

Small wrist gang unite! 🫡

Same wrist size. I owned the SMP300 and the AT41. Get the AT38, fam. 😭
Good looking out cuzzo 👍

Love your perspective. Thanks for sharing!

It’s big, but it’s not too big, besides, black and is flashy and the size works for that. And this angle always shows it big so I think it’ll be fine

Straight down shots like that also skew perspective to the larger side.
Looks giant on a sub-7" wrist like that. Just what I see though.
Probably doesn’t look as big in person. A mirror pic would’ve helped. Either way, this watch is sick.
I’ll see if I can take a good one. Thanks!
It's too big for me. It's nice. But it is big!
Not too big at all, its a sports watch
Looks perfect on the rubber strap. Maybe if it was on a bracelet it wouldn’t work. no need to overthink it
Agreed, the rubber strap really is a perfect fit. I think I’d want something smaller if it was on a stainless steel bracelet.
Absolutely! My weird rule is you can go a bit larger if its on a strap, but too large on a bracelet is a no go
Those are some good words to live by! Adding it to my rulebook now haha
Take a photo of yourself with your arms on your side and in front of the mirror
Just posted an update.
I hate to say that looks a bit too big because damn that’s a beautiful watch.

Looks good, OP.
It is, get the 38. If you're asking the question, you already know the answer.
Have you tried typing with it or doing some of your normal everyday tasks? It looks quite heavy on your wrist I feel like the 38 would suit you better
Yes, sorry. But wear what you like. I cant wear much over a 40mm. Everyone says 40s are small, but they fit. Sorry i dont have fat swollen wrist.
That’s the new 42mm size right? Maybe hunt for the previous 41mm version? Or AT 38.5mm
Funny enough, I was at the omega boutique at South Coast Plaza a few weeks ago and the sales associate, a petite woman, was wearing this watch on rubber. It looked pretty good on her! So in short - If you like it, wear it!
Too big. I have the same wrist size and my diver is a SKX013.

I’m itching to try on the new 38mm green teak dial AT. It might be the answer to all my problems!
I have 6.5 inch wrists and after wearing a 37mm watch, which fits absolutely perfect I find it hard to wear my 40mm sub.
No. Looks fine.

Well said! Love the green teak dial. Especially the matching date window.
It’s too big. Not only does it overhang, but it’s a very thick watch.
A smidge big. But still viable.
Looks fine to me, amazing looking watch
Thanks!

40mm would be such a sweet spot for the SMP
yes it would! would rebuy one in a heartbeat if and when they do release it
It's a reasonable fit.
I think it looks great, especially on the rubber. On the bracelet would maybe be pretty large, but I think this looks great.
Yes.

Looks fine, especially if you took a close up with your phone camera. In day to day wear, it will probably look better overall.
Yes
The lugs should not hang over the edge of wrist
I wouldn't wear a watch nearly that big, even on a 7" wrist.
Too big. But you knew that already. Avoid 50+mm lug-to-lug
Look kids, Big Ben.
Yeah. You need a 7 inch wrist or larger to have this watch sit right. With that wrist, you shouldn’t wear watches with a lug to lug over 48mm
I have 6" wrists, and I try not to go above 46 - 47mm, and even that looks huge. So I'd be hesitant to go with a 50mm l2l.
Too big.
I wear mine on my 6.5 ... too big, yeah, but I don't care... i love it and make it work
Too small
Maybe I need a planet ocean next 😂

Borderline. I'd get a smaller size if I were you but that doesn't look bad at all. I'm sure it looks smaller in real life.
Nope!
Way too big.
Fuckin gorgeous watch.
damn thats ugly! this looks like a busted attempt at cloning a Tudor.
