You are probably a light skinned Hispanic male, 5’3, your mother was always loving but your father never accepted your career in salsa dancing. Your stern Hispanic father’s approval is something you always long for. That is what I’m getting when I look at your watch collection.
I only paid retail on explorer and everything else was from the secondary market. I think I paid 55k in total. Still is a lot. I was lucky to have done research into AI in grad school back in the 2010s and invested early into hardware needed to run transformers. As someone that works in software, I have grown to appreciate mechanical and handcrafted artistry
it is my grail watch. I think the movement display on the back rivals any Lange. I don't wear it as much as the others only because I'm a bit over protective of it.
This is a good price for one: [https://www.chrono24.com/jaegerlecoultre/jaeger-lecoultre-master-ultra-thin-perpetual-black-steel-39mm-q1308470-176821s-leather--id33947839.htm?searchHash=dbb17cd7\_10ikB0&pos=2](https://www.chrono24.com/jaegerlecoultre/jaeger-lecoultre-master-ultra-thin-perpetual-black-steel-39mm-q1308470-176821s-leather--id33947839.htm?searchHash=dbb17cd7_10ikB0&pos=2)
Rolex Explorer, 40mm -- The Explorer is my favorite field watch. It's funny that Rolex is viewed as a luxury when it is historically the most serviceable watch brand. I love the simplicity of the black dial with arabic numerals at the corners (a common theme in my small collection). This is the only Rolex I will ever own.
JLC Master Ultra Thin Perpetual Calendar -- This is the first watch I fell in love with, and it is usually worn daily. I love the color mix of silver, black, and blue with the brown strap and the simplicity of the Kurt Klaus design to keep everything in sync. I was worried about being too concerned about not being able to go back in time and accidentally overcorrecting the date, but that only happened once.
JLC Master Ultra Thin -- This is the peak JLC ultra-thin for me, featuring corner arabic numerals and knife hour markers. It houses their thinnest production caliber, Caliber 849, which can be argued as the peak JLC watch since Jaeger and LeCoultre first partnered together when Jacques-David LeCoultre accepted a challenge by Edmond Jaeger to manufacture an ultra-thin watch he designed, the Caliber 145. The 849 at 1.38mm is the modern spiritual successor to the Caliber 145. The direct lineage involves a consistent focus on miniaturization and precision, with each new generation of calibers building upon the knowledge and techniques developed from the previous ones. This color combination is my favorite of the ultra-thin models.
JLC Duomètre Chronograph -- One thing that always frustrated me about chronographs was that the main center hand was used as the chronograph hand, and the clock seconds hand was relegated to a subdial. I love that this watch has both hands at the center. I am also fond of the fact that it is a mono-pusher. Chronographs put me off without a flyback mechanism and can never see myself ever owning a Speedmaster, Daytona, etc.
Lovely collection. It suggests that you know your watches: JLC is fabulous, and you’ve picked a few pretty good ones (though I so far have stayed with vintage ones, barring a Reverso). And the Explorer is a classic Rolex (though I prefer my 36mm, which might be sort of taste- & wrist-dependent). Nice!
I did have a Polaris automatic with black dial, but I wasn't wearing it and traded it in as part of my purchase of the duometre. It was a great watch but too similar to the explorer
I used to have four but traded in my polaris automatic black dial and master geographic when I picked up the duometre. I do love the art deco aesthetic of the reverse but round watches just speaks to me more.
That you’re a smart man with good taste. Lol, I’ve got a JLC (and my favorite brand overall) but have been lusting over an Explorer for a long time. 36mm tho 😉
This exquisite assemblage of timepieces reflects a connoisseur's palate with a discerning eye for horological elegance and complexity. The juxtaposition of a robust dive watch with the refined sophistication of a moonphase, alongside the unadorned beauty of a minimalist dial and the intricate dance of a chronograph's mechanisms, speaks to a venerable appreciation for the artistry of watchmaking. Each watch, a testament to a different facet of timekeeping, suggests a collector who not only cherishes precision but also revels in the diverse expressions of time's relentless march. This collection, in its silent eloquence, reveals an individual steeped in the appreciation of both the timeless dance of the gears and the modern statements of design.
I would imagine that you first got the Rolex Explorer because you wanted something nice but not too flashy and eventually that is what got you into watches. Then at some point you found out about JLC and it then became your go-to watch brand.
funny, I did have a 2021 Master Geographic but I trading it in as part of the purchase for the duometre. I loved the complication of the geographic and was great when I travel but the silver hands on white dial was too hard to see. I love jlc's designs but that watch was only readable in specific lighting conditions. I can't justify keeping a watch that is not clearly legible.
It says “at one point in time you had the opportunity, and means, to purchase these watches, and you had all four of them together for an unspecified amount of time.”
Umm, that’s about it I suppose. Was I supposed to learn something deeper about you?
(Very nice collection though)
I see you driving a 8 year old, fully loaded Mercedes E class with beige interior and wood trim. You bought it new and will keep it for a few more years. You are smart with your money and have impeccable taste
Ha! there are a couple I have looked at but Im now in my one watch in one watch out collecting phase and can't find any reversos that beat these four. The reverse chronograph was close but I was disappointed it didn't come with a flyback mechanism.
You are probably a light skinned Hispanic male, 5’3, your mother was always loving but your father never accepted your career in salsa dancing. Your stern Hispanic father’s approval is something you always long for. That is what I’m getting when I look at your watch collection.
Yeah this was pretty much my impression as well.
Obviously
The explorer ia a dead giveaway
That and the obvious tubed pre-amp below.
Yeah, but that looks like a piece of Schiit, which is why he’s still missing that acceptance.
Le dije a mijo que se ponga las pilas pero se puso relojes.
This guy Sherlocks
You 100% beat me to it.
Is this… Chayanne?
Are you in a room with a big mirror?
that you have more money than me
Or at least had, until they converted all that money into watches.
100k in CC debt.
I only paid retail on explorer and everything else was from the secondary market. I think I paid 55k in total. Still is a lot. The JLC perpetual calendar is so stunning 😍

Lol that's cool 😂
You own a horse but don’t play polo.
It says that you have a great taste for watches and a healthy disposable income. Beautiful watches!
It says you work in finance.
You have a type. But also down with a side chick.
You wear a lot of button ups and probably in his 40s.
Couldnt describe him any better. Was going to write the exact post.
60s
The Duometre is a rare sight indeed and looks amazing. How do you like it? Does it get a lot of wrist time?
it is my grail watch. I think the movement display on the back rivals any Lange. I don't wear it as much as the others only because I'm a bit over protective of it.
Duomete FTW!
Makes sense. Wear it in good health, I'd love to own one in the future
Preppy/classy. That JLC perpetual is my grail watch😩

I'd like to know more about that watch stand, please!
I got it off Amazon. I checked my order and the product is no longer available on the site and the brand is listed as “generic”
Exquisite. Perfect watches that complement each other well!

Damn that you gots some money in your pocket. Great collection
You have far more money than most of us - or at least more invested in watches.
Everybody makes ONE mistake
I did have a Polaris automatic with black dial, but I wasn't wearing it and traded it in as part of my purchase of the duometre. It was a great watch but too similar to the explorer
It says “I went to prep school”
This is one of the best SOTC posts I’ve seen. You have fantastic taste ⭐️
Can't fault anything perfection personified
That you don’t have any toddlers or babies to worry about 😅 lovely collection
Best concise collection I have seen in a while. Really like the JLCs for dressy occasions
Owning 3 JLCs without a reverso is gotta be some kind of record
I used to have four but traded in my polaris automatic black dial and master geographic when I picked up the duometre. I do love the art deco aesthetic of the reverse but round watches just speaks to me more.
Duometre 😍
It's says you're rich and you're 46 years old
You don’t mind scratching your pieces 😳
I got all expect the explorer off the secondary market. They came with some scratches and I’ll probably add some more
I mean the bare wooden stand, exposed to air also
That you are a relentlessly self-improving boulanger owner from Belgium with low grade narcolepsy and a penchant for buggery...
I see schiit there.
It says: I need assurance from others.
Confident enough to buy nice gear but not enough to stop giving a shit what the internet thinks.
the correct answer
That you’re a smart man with good taste. Lol, I’ve got a JLC (and my favorite brand overall) but have been lusting over an Explorer for a long time. 36mm tho 😉
It says you have soft hands..

Great taste and a big JLC fan
Super tasteful. Nice collection!
Is the jlc on right broken?
Nope the gold hands on the right show the time. The blue hands show the chronograph time elapsed
That's crazy, how the hell did they do that?
Nevermind, found it on Youtube, very fine & impressive timepiece.
Pimpmaster 5000
Is it as cool as it seems being loaded?
This is a super classy collection. Love it
You’re a JLC fan and a rolex owner. 😉😁
Daddy
it says you like JLC. nice lineup. cheers
Fantastic collection! What’s the model of the golden JLC on the far right?
Duometre chronograph. Here is a great video review of the watch https://youtu.be/0KO4Qi_ZzAU?si=ONqcPYvL8ncwLW_c
That you are classy and probably run your family business or you are a senior PE partner
tasteful
Your watch collection tells me you are not padi certified and that doesnt bother you
You make a lot of money
Why no reverso love
Amazing collection!
….that you are a man after my own heart! What a collection! Superb. 👌🏼
You are in slightly better shape than Donal Trump.
🕺🕺🕺🕺🕺🕺🕺 tcha tcha tcha!
You got the Rolex then watched Dr. Strange for the first time. Proceeded to rewatch 10 more times to support JLC.
You have money
That you'll end up on circlejerk
I would imagine that you first got the Rolex Explorer because you wanted something nice but not too flashy and eventually that is what got you into watches. Then at some point you found out about JLC and it then became your go-to watch brand.
JLC bigfan is here, cheer man
Exquisite taste. Wear them all in good health.
“Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice… you can’t fool me twice”
Get rid of that Explorer and get a JLC Master control dual time
funny, I did have a 2021 Master Geographic but I trading it in as part of the purchase for the duometre. I loved the complication of the geographic and was great when I travel but the silver hands on white dial was too hard to see. I love jlc's designs but that watch was only readable in specific lighting conditions. I can't justify keeping a watch that is not clearly legible.
La gaydo collection
Nothing. They're just watches.
That you’re quite wealthy…
Large wrists
You are Swiss
I love JLC and I have that one Rolex.
That you have excellent taste and understand value for money in higher end watches.
You like JLC a lot
Nothing! You are still a mystery.
That you’re really fucking hot and have incredible taste
I say you're a classy guy with great taste in watches. That JLC in the middle is a thing of beauty 😍
It says you absolutely love JLC and have the money to spend on pieces that you want 😂 What a classy collection; hard to beat!
You seem like a nice person with a well rounded aesthetic and like classy things, maybe I am admiring the wood works and how well it looks too.
It says that you like (nice) watches!
Man of culture 🤌 You prefer dressy watches over sport or casual. In a good place financially. You enjoy status symbols.
You’ve got disposable income and wear a lot of dress clothes. Also… probably medium to small wrists.
The Schiit amp shows that you have good taste.
It says you have a woodshop, access to local walnut lumber, excellent taste and less money than you used to. I'm jealous!!!
It says “at one point in time you had the opportunity, and means, to purchase these watches, and you had all four of them together for an unspecified amount of time.” Umm, that’s about it I suppose. Was I supposed to learn something deeper about you? (Very nice collection though)
The JLC is amazing Which one? Yes.
You have good taste
I see you driving a 8 year old, fully loaded Mercedes E class with beige interior and wood trim. You bought it new and will keep it for a few more years. You are smart with your money and have impeccable taste
That you appreciate a great brand, and everyone should have a Rolex, so you purchased the correct one.
I would have gotten the 36, but I haven't seen your wrists.
20 cm so 36 is a bit small for me.
That you like really expensive watches that don’t look like really expensive watches.
3 JLCs and no reverso? Do you even JLC bro?
Ha! there are a couple I have looked at but Im now in my one watch in one watch out collecting phase and can't find any reversos that beat these four. The reverse chronograph was close but I was disappointed it didn't come with a flyback mechanism.
You are inclined to Easthetic! You wish to acquire a patek sooner or later. You are also inclined to foreign cars, maybe an Italian car.
I do love the Patek weekly calendar, the 5226G Calatrava, the 5224R 24 hour, but Pateks are way over priced for me, hopefully someday
Intimewatches.com
That you like JLC but tacitly admit that they don't make a daily wear piece that keeps up with the most basic Rolex sports model.
