Like, dude, if a listed part of your job is to take photos, you're at least partially a professional photographer. I'm sorry that the mirrorless camera required *some semblance of talent/skill*.
It was plenty happy to take some nice photos in auto, and you could switch to an intelligent auto where it would define its own scenes (for those tough "low light vs macro" situations).
The kit lens zoom motor died first, so we slapped a prime macro lens on. And he just whinged louder.
Another engineer took it home and said "I'm just going to not use the flash [which has become in appearance and sound a taser]".
Today he said there's a drop-in replacement so he's going to test that.
