I worry about telling my pediatrician about my eldest daughter cause I don't know how she would react. I have long understood that doctors are people just like everyone else
I hate that it has to be this way, but outside of my regular PCP who I saw this morning, I always bring someone with me. Even outside of trans related healthcare, the amount of gaslighting and shit doctors do to so many people - intentional or not - about their health is insane. Having a second person in the room completely changes the tone of the whole appt.
Today I was supposed to put on my lucky socks and drive 1.5 hours to take an FSA exam, then come home celebrate my kid's birthday and then go to six flags tomorrow.
Now I'm in limbo because the exam center is closed, it's only offered today so it can't just be rescheduled easily, and I have to call the Society of Actuaries, and they're not picking up the damn phone!
And depending on what they say, I might have to take it tomorrow and miss Six Flags :(

So back in 2011, there was a show called *Wonderland* that was a modern re-imagining of *Alice in Wonderland* that premiered on Broadway. The show was an absolute flop, lasting only a month before closing. But the cast recording of the music from the show gained a cult following because the music is legit *so good,* what sunk the show was that the script was absolutely horrible and made no goddamn sense.
Usually when a show is on Broadway and then closes, the rights to the show can be bought by local theaters and schools to put on productions, but this one never got released for that, so there were no performances of the show anywhere after it closed on Broadway. The lore is that the composer of the show was pissed off that the script was so bad and that it flopped despite how good the music was that he opposed releasing it.
The school district that my husband and I live in, though, was one of 2 schools that got the rights this year to put on a "pilot production" of the show at their high school, in which the music was unchanged but the script of the show was reworked, the idea being that the show is being workshopped to be put on professionally again.
And in contrast to the last time I talked about going to a show with kids performing, *holy shit these kids were so fucking good.* Like they had so many kids who could act well and the singing was completely on point the whole time. The script to the show still made no goddamn sense, but that was absolutely not the kids' fault at all lol, they put on a great show!

ive been driving around lately using my car's assisted cruise control feature and it's so funny how dumb some drivers are. for those familiar, I usually set it to 80 mph and stick to the left lane during my commute. obviously I can only go as fast as the cars in front of me, but still people will grow impatient that my car is leaving a gap and will merge right to try to pass me I guess? Or they feel it's faster in that lane? but invariably they will fall way behind because the left lane is still way faster normally.

shiiiiiit that’s a tough one well first off my comfort book is craig ferguson’s memoir, american on purpose. always five starts until the end of time I love that guy if I had to choose one favorite it would probs be east of Eden by Steinbeck, but I have a good amt of five star reads that I loved

the very same!! that was from his stint as host of the late late show - I adored that show so much. he’s been sober since like 1992ish so yeah when all that Britney Spears stuff was going down, he was not into making jokes about it and that monologue was born
I feel real bad for Britney, she's clearly got her demons and her family do not help her one bit :(
