Illustrious_Camp_521

I see a painful surgery and rehab in his very close future.

firebrandarsecake

That's life changing stuff right there.

HelloAttila

worked in this industry for years.. watching this i shouted fuck.... the stupid shit people do at the gym keeps healthcare workers busy, the sad thing is this stuff is easy to prevent. When exercising, don't get into positions you would NEVER get into naturally...

Illustrious_Camp_521

Such a simple rule some people can't seem to grasp.

bitpartmozart13

Fingers crossed he is not in America.

HikARuLsi

Fingers are crossable, legs not anymore

Zomb_TroPiX

fingers were crossed, legs were lost

HikARuLsi

Still attached, but dead weight

Admirable-Common-176

Akshually he can make his legs like a twist tie.

RolexandDickies

Why is that?

SimonROG

You have to pay for healthcare in the US.

RolexandDickies

Stop it! 😂

madhatter275

lol. Oh no, would he have access to some of the best and most advanced medical care in the world? He goes to the gym, he probably has health insurance too.

DunceMemes

Wow, the best and most advanced medical care in the world, with only a 50% chance of bankruptcy!

bitpartmozart13

Jokes, this guy gets none. Murica number 1!

BarnyardCoral

LOL hopefully he IS in America. That way he won't have to wait for healthcare. The hope is that he has insurance. The ignorance about American healthcare is staggering.

TapDaniel

Is that exercise called the knee exploder?

bitpartmozart13

Kneecapitator.

HikARuLsi

Kneecapital punishment

DivineScotch

kneecap destroyer

Stealthy-J

He knee-ds some milk!

HelloAttila

orthopedic surgeons love this exercise...

factor3x

Kneeding Surgery

HayakuEon

How is that thing even supposed to be used for?

BlackViperMWG

[Like this.](https://i0.wp.com/betterbodysports.com/wp-content/uploads/Copy-of-Copy-of-Body-Solid-Power-Rack-Comparison-Guide-1.jpg?fit=2240%2C1260&ssl=1) But people overestimate the amount of force your tendons can take and don't rest enough.

Da_Plague22

It's not a good exercise to begin with. It puts so much strain on the bones and tendons.

SprungMS

That’s what it looks like… a lot of risk for very little gain

pepelepew69

No pain, no gain?

UseComfortable1193

Too much pain, opposite gain 😂

flying_carabao

Lil gain, lotta pain

addandsubtract

~~Go big or go home~~ Pop lig and go home

KetoKilvo

It's for people who need to strengthen knee muscles. I have to do this for my physiotherapy.

TinnedCarrots

Should he have adjusted the height of the bar by any chance so that the bar rests in his knee armpit?

KetoKilvo

No, that's all good. He should be doing a squat movement, not leaning back like that. He's loading way too much weight on his knee.

ManufacturerNo9364

Kneepit

RixirF

What? No. It should be legpit. Unless you also call it elbowpit.

borkthegee

Wait, the elbow pit and armpit are different. The armpit is up where the arm connects to torso. The elbowpit... I suppose yeah, I would call it elbowpit? I certainly wouldn't call it a second armpit lol

RixirF

Now I'm confused and you may be right. The armpit would be the groin, since that's what links to the torso, aka the legpit. The opposite side of the elbow has no name that I know of, so that means the opposite side of the knee also has no name.

TinnedCarrots

Of course. How did I not see that!

CunnilingusCrab

His head and chest should be perpendicular to the ground. He decided to lay down like he was prepping for the operating table instead.

Serafim91

Hmm - you don't say.

CunnilingusCrab

So do leg extensions, but they’re both fine exercises. Just don’t plank out like a goober.

jackofwind

It’s for sissy squats, it’s absolutely not supposed to be used the way he’s doing it. You lock your lower legs in and isolate your quads in a squat motion. Thats it. You don’t do whatever the fuck this idiot is doing.

iekiko89

Yeah, you're very wrong. It's not supposed to be used like this at all

Optimal_Fuel6568

I know nothing about sport or biology but that seems like all the force is applied to that one muscle in the knee How is the part called that failed?

aberdisco

All that force is being applied to ligaments rather than muscle, there's only so far they'll go. His ACL just popped, and who knows which other knee ligaments too. He'd be far better off doing weighted planks for his core.

Optimal_Fuel6568

I just had to think of that weird Internet trend people did where plank means to just lay on a random object Like am i supposed to do that planking thin? It took me a second to (open google and then) realise what you actually meant

AnotherBoredAHole

If you train your core hard enough, you can just plank on the air and be like the internet funnies!

xxEmkay

Probably an ACL and/or meniscus.

Octopus_vagina

ACL rupture

Roo_Methed_Up

To shreds, you say?

GloomyUmpire2146

Popped like a Dollar Store garden hose

Reddit_2_you

Your body isn’t meant to be parallel to the floor…

PrinceAhmed1

Today I learned these are called sissy squats

KeepItTidyZA

AFAIK it's NOT like that at all. it's made for squatting. People find creative ways to injur themselves

Nehfk

That's correct

sully_88

This makes sense. Looks like it would aid in proper form for a squat

No_Self_Eye

yeah I think it is called a sissy squat machine. I tried using it once and damn near had the same result

Kallabanana

Torture.

Benphyre

Sometimes the cure for stupidity is a very painful lesson

halapeno-popper

More than likely this only cures one of many stupid acts.

TheLostTexan87

I mean... It cures most/all of them related to walking, jogging, or running. Anything dependent on mobility, including being able to escape the consequences of their actions.

halapeno-popper

So you think they will never be able to use his legs again? Just a slight setback. He will be back at it in no time.

TheLostTexan87

Not never, but if he just destroyed major tendons he's looking at 6-12 months or more of rehab, and likely never back to full strength. Likely to think twice about dumb shit in the future.

Olibirus

No pain??

Bigram03

There will be.

LucasCBs

He probably ripped his Patella Tendon. When I did it, It was weirdly enough relatively painless by itself. The whole thing still sucked a lot though. I ripped it on one leg and needed two surgeries and had to use crutches for half a year. What I’m left with is a bit ass scar over my knee that makes kneeling pretty painful

leonbeer3

Adrenaline is a hell of a drug

TrekStarWars

No gain

laurieislaurie

If you have a complete tendon or ligament tear there's typically no pain after the immediate fact, because it's no longer attached, so the tissue is just hanging out. You'll actually have way more pain with a partial tear. That goes for the pre surgery, that is. Post-surgery there will be a lot of pain during the healing process. Whereas with the painful partial tears, you can avoid surgery 95% of the time.

Victorino95

Yet

jdoe3351

Only pain and setbacks

lifeofabombtech

Tore my ACL in a motorcycle accident; my first thought wasn’t any potential injuries but rather, “I need to get out of the road!” Didn’t even feel the pain until I jumped up to my feet and my knee immediately buckled.

Direct_Ad_8341

That’s an ACL tearing

Sandstorm52

Would an ACL tear from strain along that axis? I’d sooner guess a patellar tendon.

JoshYx

I like your funny words magic man

daniperezz

I broke my patellar tendon (not doing this, btw) on march last year, and let me tell you that the little move that he makes at the end would be impossible without patellar tendon. Plus, the kneecap seems to be on its place. You should have seen mine hahahaha, it was way up to the quad. Nasty injury, I'm still half fucked with the muscle loss.

Direct_Ad_8341

I saw this on YouTube - https://youtube.com/shorts/ZO9f1Q6IWbE?si=LTxOSMfBb7bDY68I Also this is very similar to what a Lachman’s test involves

kuehnchen7962

I'd preferred a paddling, if I were him.

aemseeker

*opens video* NOPE! *closes video*

cornylamygilbert

god I wish I hadn’t watched it 🤮

Capable_Category_225

I had forgotten this video, my knees hurt from just thinking about it

122_Hours_Of_Fear

That looked expensive

jinxykatte

Only in the backwards parts of the world like America.

We-Want-The-Umph

Where we annually spend 900 billion on our military, but drop you off insurance when they don't feel like honoring your cancer diagnosis. Fuck yeah! Comin' again to save the motherfuckin' day, yeah!

Hamgloshes

Freedumb!!!

Raging-Badger

The U.S. feds also spent 600 billion giving medical benefits to 1/3rd of Americans who were underinsured, disabled, or aged. And that’s just federal budgets, whereas much of Medicaid’s funding comes from the states as they decide the granularity of who receives it. The U.S. only spends 2% of its GDP on the military, though they could spend less if they weren’t beholden to their NATO agreements

122_Hours_Of_Fear

![gif](giphy|xT9IgHCTfp8CRshfQk)

MrThoughtPolice

It’s okay, I got an upgraded rear view mirror so I can navigate quite well. Maybe one day I’ll get auto-dimming. I’ll be living the high life then.

CharmainKB

> Maybe one day I’ll get auto-dimming. Is...is that a real thing?! Please tell me it is!

alyosha_pls

It's real

CharmainKB

Omg that's actually life changing LOL The LED lights shining in my rearview mirror at night are blinding. I'm gonna look this up

A1rh3ad

I mean, you can fix that with the lever that is already attached to the mirror

CharmainKB

Yes, that's true. But auto dimming would be easier so I don't have to worry about it lol My husband has a habit of flipping the lever if he drives my car at night and forgetting to put it back into the "normal" way after. I just want to enjoy this LOL

A1rh3ad

I've had to tell a lot of people what that does. Wasn't sure if you were going to be one of them.

CharmainKB

Really? Lol I figured it was common knowledge? Kind of a bit sad about that too, though. Like, they never thought to see what that little lever did?

ZlatanKabuto

in most European countries you'd pay a grand total of €0.00

aces613

After waiting up to (checks notes) [650 days](https://www.oecd-ilibrary.org/sites/63a6ed75-en/index.html?itemId=/content/component/63a6ed75-en) once you see a specialist… and god knows how long it takes to see one.

LeetChocolate

ur cherrypicking estonia specifically.

ZlatanKabuto

it's not always like that at all and remember that health insurances are way cheaper than in US. That said, covid has messed up the situation a bit.

Raging-Badger

1/3rd of Americans don’t even have true insurance premiums, instead paying a % deduction on their wages. This is because 1/3rd of Americans are recipients of Medicaid/medicare as a result of being underinsured, disabled, or aged. Another 48.7% of Americans [receive insurance through work](https://www.ehealthinsurance.com/resources/small-business/how-many-americans-get-health-insurance-from-their-employer) paying an average annual premium of 8.4K for a individual and 24k for a family. Another final 15% of the population are recipients of the ACA, receiving healthcare insurance for as low as $10/month. The requirement for this is or be at or below 250% of the federal poverty level. This averages to 75k/year for a family. TL:DR - 97% of Americans have health coverage that *aren’t* paying open marketplace prices, many aren’t even paying at all

ZlatanKabuto

Nice attempt, unfortunately you forgot all the clauses, limitations, deductibles. Yet, your federal spending for the healthcare is way higher than in Europe. 🤦

Raging-Badger

I didn’t realize European insurance didn’t have deductibles or anything else in their contracts In that case yes European insurance is vastly superior How does European insurance work actually?

ZlatanKabuto

they do have but are way cheaper and the deductibles are lower (few hundreds of euros usually) and you're covered by the national health systems anyway

Raging-Badger

The average deductible for someone on Medicare/medicaid is $0 The average for ACA recipients is $3000 or €2790, though the lowest available deductible is $90 The average deductible for employer health coverage varies by employer though. I have a $1500 deductible personally. The largest deductibles in the U.S. are limited to 9100k a year for individuals and 17k for families, so I won’t deny that there are certainly folks with ridiculous deductibles. Those are reserved for the lowest premium plans though, essentially people who only want to pay ahead for preventative care and don’t anticipate any medical emergencies. These plans are opt-in and not the only available plans.

DaveAstator2020

Shotgun knees

Bambuskus505

I dont think that's how knees are supposed to work

Rodmap

NSFW jfc

Moominsean

I want to see what happens when he stands up.

undermind84

I'm so glad I stopped this video. As soon as I saw what this guy was up to, I noped the fuck out.

kriegmonster

It's just an odd pop in the knee and collapse to the floor. Video ends before the pain hits.

fuck_you_lookin_at

NSFL

DGUsername

As someone who has had knee surgery, I noped out of that video as soon as it started 😬😳

smrtfxelc

Yeah I ain't watching that, but I would like to know what part of his leg breaks if anyone would care to tell me.

kriegmonster

Something pops inside the knee and he loses tension and back falls to the floor. The video ends as he is trying to get out of the rig, but he doesn't express any pain. I suspect a tendon detached.

moonman2090

NSFWorking out!

HorrorPhone3601

Watching that hurt my leg

MrThoughtPolice

Was it the working out part?

HorrorPhone3601

Lol

CorianderIsBad

It's so easy to stuff your knees and shoulders up. It's ridiculous. Also, the neck, back, elbow. The body is a pretty shoddy machine.

txivotv

It's almost like knees are not meant to handle that kind of exercise and strain, right? A mistery, indeed!

CorianderIsBad

I'm perplexed too. Hmmmm.... You're on to something....

Npr31

Wrists, don’t forget those fuckers too

shellsterxxx

I have hyper mobile knees and this made them scream bloody murder.

greenaether

No pain no gain. Walk it off

PrysmX

That's going to be expensive if he is from America and uninsured.

hand13

might get into a drive by and die if he‘s in america, so his knees arent a problem really 🤣

drvic59

Dumbass

Adkit

Nsfw pleeeease

MysteriousPark3806

This dude is too dumb to gym.

kuehnchen7962

Oh dear. When he started moving I was like 'damn, I know where this is going. Shut down the video you fool!' But seeing how this is quite a long thought to think in that situation it was too late by the time my brain was finished. I regret talking to myself in long, elaborate sentences now.

Mackheath1

First time in a long time a video made me sing soprano and hold the note.

Beneficial-Nimitz68

He thought he could do a friggin' Matrix move... stupid.. he wants to rip his knees apart.. go for it.

bigSTUdazz

Kneecaptain A tearinya

PrinceAhmed1

New fear unlocked ![gif](giphy|J4yF0FV16mSjwlGunf)

Danillofp

That's why I don't go to the gym

I_Am_Zava

Because some people misuse equipment and get themselves hurt, you want to be unfit which puts you at higher risk of injury in everyday life? Ok buddy

EnRandomNiklas

I think it was a joke, buddy

hand13

he cant understand jokes. too busy going to the gym to be healthy

stemi67

I see these workouts all the time and wonder why they are practicing for the Matrix.. just take the red pill

JayAndViolentMob

Freddy four-knees is in for a fright.

Optimal_Fuel6568

That would be a cool medieval torture machine

I'd love to see the last 15 seconds

Seems like a bad exercise with no extra weight. Just asking for trouble.

When did this sub become all about people getting injured, usually quite badly?
