I feel like it’s more likely that’s kmh otherwise they would be flying past those cars at over twice their speed vs only like 60% faster like in the video
Man tell me about it. The recent flooding has turned our local roads into Swiss cheese. I regularly see people stopped on the side with blown out tyres from potholes.
That's rough. Our council are absolutely shit at fixing them though, they blow all their money on ridiculous shit for political points meanwhile we are out there dodging the pit of Sarlacc and waiting three weeks for the bins to get collected.
It's in Ireland. The back registration plates of UK cars are yellow/orange. Irish ones are white. The cars has to circular displays showing the limit is 100kph.
Pure muppets
Almost definitely kmh, the top speed of an Audi RS6 for example is 155 mph (electronically limited). I don't recognize this car specifically, but there are only a couple Audis capable of reaching 177 mph.
Also yeah like others said, the other cars would have to be moving 120+ mph for these passing speeds to make sense.
Agree, seems to be kmh - could be possible tho, i recently tried to see the max speed of my car, which was 225kmh / 144mph
Then a rando approached from behind, drove really fucking close and honked, so i move to the side.
There is people who should not drive that have a car well capable of going over 150mph
Most modern cars do have the capability of switching between kmh and mph on the dashboard, it’s just the other factors like the speed of the other vehicles and the fact this is a European car on European roads that make it pretty evident what it’s recording the speed with.
The issue is our roads aren't really designed to go above 90mph (144kph). The only roads that are around the motorways, but the speed limit is 70mph (112kph) so doing anything above say 90 is just becoming dangerous since other drivers aren't expecting it
I've hit 160kmh in my truck a couple times (lonely little highways going out camping, nobody around and straight road) and that looks to be about right. No possible way this is mph
Pretty sure most cars have both. I'm in the US and I can switch my car to KMPH any time. Not saying they switched theirs just that saying there is no KMPH in the UK doesn't really work. It's just whatever you have it set to really.
I second that. Plus km is used pretty much anywhere outside the U.S. It is clear to me they are driving on the left side of the road so we are outside the U.S.
Man I was told that insurance rates would go down once I hit 26. I'm 37 have not had a ticket since I was 18 and my insurance goes up way surpassing inflation every six months.
Seems like you're missing something and should keep shopping around. I have a totaled car on my report, my wife and I both have full coverage live in an above average theft/accident area, we both have full coverage, and 3 months ago switched and got the cheapest/best insurance we've had in years. In fact, her and I pay less than I paid by myself for liability only about 8 years ago.
Your car insurance should not just be getting perpetually higher unless the area you live in is just absolute shit or there's things consistently getting dinged on there.
Edit: for context I'm 32. And at the age of 24 after a totaled car followed by a "lapse" because I didn't have a car and wasn't driving paid $450/mo for about 4 months for liability only. That was the cheapest insurance by over $100/mo at the time.
A couple years ago we moved to an area that caused our insurance (one full coverage vehicle, one liability) to go up $30/mo just because we switched zip codes to a higher rate of accident area. After a year, got it down $15/mo.
Now 1.5 years later have 2 full coverage vehicles for $40/mo less than that with better coverage.
Well, I'll shop around again next time.
I pay about 600 every 6 mos. My vehicle is only worth about 10k. I have the minimum coverage allowed in my state. I don't know. I think it's where we live. My girlfriend has an even better driving record than me, literally never a single traffic ticket, and she pays like 540$.
Husband and I pay just a bit more than 600 every 6 mos for a car with about 20k, and we have comprehensive coverage (windshield replacement, underinsured/uninsured motorist coverage, rental coverage, higher payouts than state min., etc.) through a company that's 'higher tier' than Progressive or Geico. We have at least one accident on our record (totaled our last car, I was at fault). We do have a few discounts, like AAA association, NSC Sage Driving Certificate, etc as well as a discount for combining with our homeowner's insurance, but I don't think that's enough to make up for totaling a car and also being two males in our 30s. We live in a VERY high theft area, and don't park in a garage. Iirc, being married saves on insurance as well, but regardless...
For a single male (I assume) driver without any accidents or moving violations on your record and a car worth 10k, you should be able to find a rate better than 600 every 6 mos.
I recommend talking to an insurance agent. Many of them don't charge a thing to find you the best insurance for your needs, and when you need to use your insurance or have any questions about coverage, they're there to help you.
Liberty mutual. We had progressive prior. Then when my wife upgraded vehicles, our insurance with them was insane. Almost 300 a month. Fortunately I found Liberty mutual after 2 months of that and now we pay ~$160 a month.
Prior to my wife's car upgrade we were with progressive paying $185 a month.
Wow thats wild. I have Liberty Mutual as well 😂 i got a "pre approved rate" from progressive in the mail for $89 and was seriously considering switching. Thanks for the warning!
I got my policy right before I was 26 I think. Transferred from a 2003 Jeep Liberty to a 2010 for fusion. I didn't have full coverage but still only pay like $400 every six months or something. I don't think it has changed in the past few years price wise.
I'm in the same boat. Cheapest insurance I ever had was when I was 24, and then then two years later rates *tripled* where I live, and then lowered til they were closer to +60%. I'm pretty sure they only tripled them to make the actual rates easier to swallow
32, been driving half my life, not one ticket, no accidents, perfectly clean driving record, but the prices keep going up
No kidding. Back when I lived in Seattle I'd be flying past people if I got up to 70. Since moving to Chicago, if I'm going 75 I'll have a line of cars behind me so close I can see food in the driver's teeth.

There are lots of reason that this crash could have happened. Being on a straight road means nothing. Calling them mongs for crashing on a straight road is stupid. They are morons for going fast. Not crashing on a straight road.
"Be curious, not judgemental." - Walt Whitman
If it's where I think it is, they are going downhill after the bridge and we don't see the road after that. At the bottom, it starts to go uphill again and turn right. Suspension may have bottomed out, driver panicked and overturned for the slight right turn?

Hate to say it but it didn’t sound like a crash, or look like the camera motion physics of a crash. There’s something that looks like an airbag but no noticeable bang of them deploying.
Oh look endangering other people's life's for fun. Honestly hope the crash killed them, imagine if they went into the back of a family car carrying children... these pure spastic inbreds aren't worth the spunk it took to make them.
That annoyed me more than the actual speed. I have been tailgated and flashed by several inconsiderate assholes. I use strict lane discipline when I drive. I'm never in the fast lane if I'm not overtaking someone. If I'm in your way, you did something stupid.
I know this is a joke but for those who are interested:
Cars can reach those speeds because they were made to have a long life expectancy (not in this case). And to underwork a powerful engine is better than to overwork a small engine.
It’s not that hard to install a limiter though. I was on a fleet which was hard limited to 58mph, and head office would have known if you pulled the appropriate fuse. So my question, why not have the whole lot limited?
Like, car lot? At a dealership? Idk probs budget problems and most ppl would find ways to remove them so even more waste of money. Plus the highway goes above 58 and in addition, people travel and when they do they go well above 58. It really depends on where you live and the people in the area.
Not “lot” as in stuff on sale, “lot” as in the whole shebang. And not limited to 58, but case by case so artics and trucks are hard limited to 60, cars to 70 (UK here).
Make it the same deal as undeclared modifications, over here if a spot check reveals things that aren’t declared or are positively illegal (NOx kits for example) then there’s a good chance you’re walking home.
Hell, I’ve driven cars with sensors on reading the speed limit boards, if you’re in cruise control or limit it changes up and down by itself anyway.
The UK is a nightmare for stuff like this. We measure everything in metric, apart from the distance we drive or horse races. We buy our fuel in litres but measure economy with miles per gallon. Milk and beer is still measured in pints, even though everything else is metric.
The UK uses miles. That is what the UK uses and what UK speedometers will show as default
It does not and has never used kilometres
Speed limits and distances on roads are required to be in miles
A speed sign in the UK will be in miles
You clearly do not know what is used in the UK.
Am I condoning this behaviour? Absolutely not. We should never do this. Would I be lying by saying I've never wanted to go this speed? Yes. Yes I would be.
If UK laws are simlar to Canada , that guy isn't worries about repairing his car as much as paying for a lawyer because police will charge him with reckless driving at the very least.
For those saying it's 177 kph, the car was in 6th at almost 6000 rpm. For any modern Audi, the revs are far too high for only 177 kph, let alone an S/RS.
I stand corrected, but they’re driving a car that is meant for 81% of the world, so it’d still be kph with visually how fast they’re going, it definitely wasn’t the speed OP indicated.
Honestly, 177 kph isn't that fast in Germany. In my in-laws little Peugeot we average somewhere between 160-180. I've personally driven as fast as 235 kph and been in the car of someone going 266 kph (this was actually pretty scary). Maybe it is fast and I'm just desensitized? I feel like 180 is super common on the Autobahn.
That's not 180mph, more kmh
A p normal speed for me, I drive that speed a lot, he's being timid with his Audi. But then again it's illegal for him to drive that fast

Fr, at 180 mph your are gonna fucking fly past everything and everyone.
I doubt most British roads could even handle 180mph
Most British roads can't handle 80mph. Source: disappointed Brit.
There’s a few near me that are sketchy even at 30!
Man tell me about it. The recent flooding has turned our local roads into Swiss cheese. I regularly see people stopped on the side with blown out tyres from potholes.
Friend of mine blew through three tires in a few months last year. He drives a lot to be fair, but that’s still taking the piss a bit.
That's rough. Our council are absolutely shit at fixing them though, they blow all their money on ridiculous shit for political points meanwhile we are out there dodging the pit of Sarlacc and waiting three weeks for the bins to get collected.
How do you drive 2.65252859812e+32? Can you teach me?
Best bet is to have zero mass and to be a photon. Unfortunately, you’d experience the entire history of the universe in a single instance.
Correct mate you'd hit a pothole within 5 seconds and that'd be the end of you! 🤣
Most American roads can’t handle that either. Not safely anyway
I'm not sure about there, but a lot of cars here are governed to not go past a speed. Had a crapalier that topped out at 113 mph.
I hit 90 in a classic Mini once. Bits fell off. 10/10 awesome experience.
Plenty of them can be it in a car or on the bike.
What NASCARs go 220. My speedometer only goes up to like one thirty or something. Edit: Nm just check its 180 average yeah. Thats not mph.
And that crash would have happened alot faster.
It's in Ireland. The back registration plates of UK cars are yellow/orange. Irish ones are white. The cars has to circular displays showing the limit is 100kph. Pure muppets
Also the logo that appears bottom left towards the end of the video is in the colours of the Irish flag.

Even old cars show mph and kph for driving across Europe.
Yup and it's even more embarrassing.
Yeah, 180kph is comfy cruising speed in an Audi. What happened there? Source: am German
That's what I was thinking lol. Probably the driver is inexperienced and/or a hazard suddenly appeared.
I think i did around 170 in my driving lessons once (germany) so yeah, fucking brits
The issue is our roads aren't really designed to go above 90mph (144kph). The only roads that are around the motorways, but the speed limit is 70mph (112kph) so doing anything above say 90 is just becoming dangerous since other drivers aren't expecting it

Yeah, it's 110mph
109.98 MPH for those of us who don’t use the metric system. Which makes sense. A lot of vehicles are now computer limited to that speed
I agree but theres no kmh in UK. So this ireland maybe, thats EU and the flag is Irish colours right
I see, I didn’t know that or seemed to have forgotten that.
Pretty sure most cars have both. I'm in the US and I can switch my car to KMPH any time. Not saying they switched theirs just that saying there is no KMPH in the UK doesn't really work. It's just whatever you have it set to really.
The right hand drive gives it away.
I don't use MPH and I don't even know how much would that be, but I know it would be too much myself. Still dangerous at 177 km/h.
Pretty sure brit cars don't show mph too
They do The UK uses miles
I second that. Plus km is used pretty much anywhere outside the U.S. It is clear to me they are driving on the left side of the road so we are outside the U.S.
driving up the insurance for all of us
Man I was told that insurance rates would go down once I hit 26. I'm 37 have not had a ticket since I was 18 and my insurance goes up way surpassing inflation every six months.
Dude you have to check for better offers twice a year.
I do. I get a "gold level" discount for being with my company for so long. It keeps going up, but it keeps being the cheapest.

🤣
Yep, that crap music can really scar.
Nah... I don't feel sorry for idiots who risk their lives for nothing.
why?
Music is ass
r/killthecameraman If he didn't do that himself that is.
177 kph = 110 mph
baby speed
20 mph over the average left lane speed in Chicago
No kidding. Back when I lived in Seattle I'd be flying past people if I got up to 70. Since moving to Chicago, if I'm going 75 I'll have a line of cars behind me so close I can see food in the driver's teeth.
I've had someone in Chicago pass me by using the sidewalk. The drivers there are insane.
Damn lol
lmao same here in boston on the way home i literally chuckled
Fellow americans. It's km/h. Thanks
Yeah. Kilo per hour doesn't mean shit.
I drive faster than that in my Kia Soul when transiting Wyoming or other rural states 😅
110 in a car shaped like a fucking toaster?!?
Nothing to be proud of.
I’m not being prideful just saying this accident is due to idiocy, not exceptionally high speed
Yeah quite. Poor driving skills.
Presuming they survived considering the upload

The Spanish inquisition always gave 48 hours notice. Everybody expected them.

That's an interesting take. Not a lot to refute that, except the music and screams cutting off all of a sudden.
You mean things which are both in control? Turn off the music and close your mouth?
Hate to say it but it didn’t sound like a crash, or look like the camera motion physics of a crash. There’s something that looks like an airbag but no noticeable bang of them deploying.
You can see the wind screen get smashed in.
Unfortunetly you can hear the tires screech followed by seeing the cracked windshield and grass. Sadly is not fake.
as someone who has diven at a max of like 120+ , that is not 177 mph.
thats 177kmh...
Ah, barely a light stroll then.
Exactly. Middle lane in Germany, for trucks
Actually had hard time getting to merge into left lane just yesterday when doing 150 kph because everyone was going way faster. Stuttgart area.
KPH lol
Not MPH lol
Rest in peace boys. Was it worth it?
![gif](giphy|qcKnA89YDid5DvIROl)

No fr. That and people that drink and drive. Unfortunately too many of them survive but end up killing other people.
Sounded like Stick Death at the end.
If they crashed they deserve it, mf should atleast shoot better so that we can watch them crash, i believe they faking it and just dropped the phone.
I’d say r/killthecameraman but the driver already tried
idiots
Really annoys me when people are hammering it and they start flashing to get you to move.
That annoyed me more than the actual speed. I have been tailgated and flashed by several inconsiderate assholes. I use strict lane discipline when I drive. I'm never in the fast lane if I'm not overtaking someone. If I'm in your way, you did something stupid.
I'd want to crash with that music playing.
I’m now convinced it’s the shit rap that is causing all these high speed accidents.
All that for 25 likes
I need to know what happened, as in casualties, number of passengers, what the car looked like after the fact.
retarded music? check. too strong car? check. no driving skill? that's a big check.
Play stupid games win stupid prizes 🤦♂️🤷♂️
At least it got rid of that music.
Why do they even allow cats to go this fast?
I don't. I'm constantly telling my cats to slow down or they'll hurt themselves falling down the stairs or something, can't be having more vet bills.
Look here you...xD

Sods could've died to some, idk, *not* fucking trash music..
Nobs
Ex lads
I thought this the speciality of us Saudis crashing my high speeds? Anyway I hope they survived and learned a lesson.
how do you know its in the uk and still assume its mph lmao
The UK does use miles
every car has kph and mph, and i assume because their speed signs are all in kph it would be smartest to use that
UK speed signs are in MPH
My whole life has been a lie

The UK is a nightmare for stuff like this. We measure everything in metric, apart from the distance we drive or horse races. We buy our fuel in litres but measure economy with miles per gallon. Milk and beer is still measured in pints, even though everything else is metric.
The UK uses miles. That is what the UK uses and what UK speedometers will show as default It does not and has never used kilometres Speed limits and distances on roads are required to be in miles A speed sign in the UK will be in miles You clearly do not know what is used in the UK.
Your living privileges have been revoked.
Am I condoning this behaviour? Absolutely not. We should never do this. Would I be lying by saying I've never wanted to go this speed? Yes. Yes I would be.
Maravilloso
Playing with buttons while doing 177mph. Yikes!
What is that? Like 45 MPH?
I don’t think it’s in freedom unit
I guess they died?
177 kmh = 109 mph
Kill the camera...oh wait, nevermind
Alexa says it's 284.8 kmh
Km not mph
I’ve done 170mph and it’s much faster
No way that’s mph. They would be mist.
Uh oh OP doesn’t know about kilometers

Do stupid things, win stupid prizes... I hope their insurance refuses to pay.
Owners manual..." Do not exceed 176 KPH "
r/killthecameraman
This is 177 kph which is around 110 mph. Going 177 mph is just a blur (or at least it is on a crotch rocket)
I don’t think that’s an Audi gauge screen.
More like 105mph maybe
If he was listening to eurobeat he wouldn't have crashed, amateur
If UK laws are simlar to Canada , that guy isn't worries about repairing his car as much as paying for a lawyer because police will charge him with reckless driving at the very least.
Finally and answer to the question, the radio does in fact stop.
Well hello Mr. Walker! Late for a Fund raiser again?
That shit box can’t go 140 let alone 170mph lol
Wouldn’t be able to drive with that kind of crappy music either…
Man, the after footage of the accident scene is so fucked up
only on instagram reels
Pretty sure it’s kph
For those saying it's 177 kph, the car was in 6th at almost 6000 rpm. For any modern Audi, the revs are far too high for only 177 kph, let alone an S/RS.
Don't think and drive!
Smashing 180 in a suby legacy often enough on NZ roads. These muppets lol
You ever noticed when you see videos like this it's always the same dog shit 'music'
To all of you who is playing it down that it “only” 177km/h and not miles. I bet you never crashed at all. This is beyond deadly speed.
I don't think there is enough room in the UK to go 180mph
I can assure you there is
speed limit exist for a reason
Not surprised I see another accident caused by shitty music
177kph = 110mph
If this is in the UK, then it’s not in miles but kilometers. They’re going about 109mph.
The UK uses miles though
Peterd is correct. UK uses miles, by law.
I stand corrected, but they’re driving a car that is meant for 81% of the world, so it’d still be kph with visually how fast they’re going, it definitely wasn’t the speed OP indicated.
I've figured it out. This happened in Ireland. Right hand drive car, British looking roads, but KPH. Definitely Ireland.
Fools
That's not 180mph, more kmh A p normal speed for me, I drive that speed a lot, he's being timid with his Audi. But then again it's illegal for him to drive that fast
How the fuck do you see with all that loud music
Am I the only one that thinks the centre dash looks like Kitt…
