I think it’s southeast kitchen for sure. That place is amazing . But you could try Kids Shellens They have a pretty big menu of quality food. Opa opa is pretty popular. I like India Grill up on Naamans if you want some Indian food. Oh and the new Ramen place Yokai ramen is solid get the scallion pancakes and of course a bowl of Ramen.
I am so frustrated that they make you stand outside, won't text you when you food is ready and still have the signs and ropes up from COVID. But damn their food is so good I go anyway.
I really miss when they had a dine-in option and you got soup as an appetizer. But they learned during COVID that their food is good enough to go to pick up only. 😩
But seriously, if they are going to be web ordering take-out only they could at least do it reasobky well. Having to "stand outside behind little ropes and hope Someone comes out so I can shout my name and then my food may or may not be ready" process is unnecessary
+1 for kid shelleens. Used to do a bunch of pick up from there when I lived two blocks away during the height of Covid. Great wings, good burgers, and good food overall.
You are the first person I know who will admit to eating at Bites and Slice. What did you think? DiMeo's is probably my favorite, unless I am having pizza at Pizzaria Metro. Metro also has killer wings. Hong Kong Chinese food in Trolley is decent food (but truly amazing Chinese food places are lacking here, I think), Guardiello's in Trolley has great subs. Scalessa's in the 40 Acres has solid take out Italian (Cafe Mezzanotte downtown also has carryout but is a little more upscale Italian). El Toro has take out as well as 3 Amigos.
It was fine? We got wings there too. I might have liked it more than DiMeo. Metro is so far the best. My bf picked Bites and Slice… just seems like a hole in the wall type of place?
I’ll look into those suggestions, thanks!
My favorites are the porkette and chicken cutlet sandwiches. The pasta dishes are also good. I haven’t had better Italian in Wilmington. Dining in the restaurant the food is always 30% better than the takeout (which is still good), but they don’t serve alcohol so I don’t do dinner there often.
Sakura at 1203 Kirkwood Highway has some of the best sushi I’ve had in my life.
There’s also a Sakura at 4713 Kirkwood Highway that’s all you can eat but substantially worse than the one at 1203.
If you dig Indian food, hands down it's India Palace, 101 North Maryland Ave. I'd eat there every single day if I could.
Pro tip: they have a very nice lunch buffet, but it's mild. If you like it spicy, make sure to come for the dinner menu.
Pizzeria Metro for pizza. Jalapeño Grill has amazing tacos. Like, ridiculously great. Opa Opa has fantastic gyros (don't bother getting the r fries though because they suck) Scalessa's for cheesesteaks or Italians, Union Street Pub for their Stromboli, Roccco's for basic inexpensive pastas, Dead Presidents for burgers.
My favorite Indian food is Bawarchi off of 202. They are heavy with the spice, but my goodness it’s good. I only get takeout from there as the seating options aren’t very comfortable.

Yokai Ramen is just fantastic. If you are in the mood for soup, Pho Bami on Concord Pike by the appliance place is also amazing.

I was just happy when they got web ordering so it wasn’t a game of continually calling to slip through the loaded up phone line.

It has had multiple lives as a hole in the wall place. I'm glad to hear from someone who tried it AND liked it!
Haha now I feel weird.
Evergreen is by far my favorite Chinese Restaurant located on Miller Rd.
El Toro’s take out location is so much better than their dine in
El pique has the best tacos. El Diablo has a good non traditional burrito (similar to chipotle).
El Pique is so good you'll cry
Omg I discovered them by accident (just moved here) and I’m so happy!! Super affordable too.
Opa Opa has a solid cheesesteak
Their gyro is pretty good too.
Metro Pizza, Corner Bistro, Bar Reverie (coffee and pastries).
Scalessas has incredible Italian

I always forget they do take out!
Fun fact they’re actually on grubhub now too
El Toro has a takeout location up the street, it never disappoints!

India Palace is awesome, but the lunch buffet has been closed since covid so only dinner hours.
Lol my bad -- tells you when I was last there for lunch!
Dorcea is solid.

Mitch’s Mo Better chicken
Just had this over the weekend when they were at Wilmington Brew Works. The catfish was amazing.
If you like deep dish pizza, I suggest Pizzeria Bardea.
Southeast Kitchen is Bangin’

Pizzeria Maki has some good (and some not so good ) pizza. And their Sushi is always fairly good and fresh (but I stay with the simple stuff)
Any suggestions so I can avoid the not so good?
I find their fancy stuff less appealing.
