Well... I found somebody who had most of the plates on marketplace for a song, so I just had to order the radiator plate and some hardware. Still took a couple months.
For real. I have a buddy with an aluminum rock bumper on his tacoma and he hit a big rig at like 45 when it ran a red amd the bumper bent a little but it was intact. This looks like garbage if it literally fell apart like this.
Eh.... What if OP was jacking up his truck from the bumper and it blew apart into 20 pieces?
Good welds don't explode apart like they were held together by JB Weld.
It did break into a bunch of pieces but that was probably what absorbed the damage and prevented more damage to the X. On the flip side I've seen front ends crumpled and the bumper totally fine. Hard to balance bumper strength not know what you're going to hit!
Can I ask what part of Texas? Totaled my 2011 in Brady/Mason back in 2021. Insurance payout allowed me to purchase a 2012.
Suspension upgrade and a solid front bumper are at the top of my list.
I hit a deer going 90km/h a couple years ago.
Had just installed my shrockworks bumper and it bonked the deer good and my x was fine. Just needed an alignment on the left tie rod
Done anyone remember the deer gore front page from maybe 2009 where there was a crazy image of someone who hit a deer, which went through the car and essentially got dismembered? Car full of blood, heart was in the trunk.
Glad that didn't happen to you or the deer
Think you need to improve your welds if the bumper broke apart like that. If coastal welded it then that's not good either judging from the look of the birdshit welds in the last pic.
Is the bumper supposed to come apart like that? I mean it obviously did a great job at damage mitigation but on the ranch hands I’ve had on my trucks, they don’t fall off after hitting deer or hogs at highway speeds.
Actually really doesnt look like bad truck damage. Im curious whether it was a home weld job or coastal welded it. If things are welded well they will not break into perfect pieces where the welds were.
No way! I bet you can fix that up just fine. Does it still drive? Also out of curiosity, what bumper is that, steel or aluminum?
Steel it’s from coastal offroad did it’s job well
Was able to drive itself off the road
Makes me feel better about my Coastal Off-road, glad y'all are okay!
Looks like the coastal off-road bumper. Did the airbags deploy? The X looks really clean considering what you hit.
They didn’t the only thing that got messed up was the gas’s tank and power steering surprise I got it was able to drive itself of the highway
Time for armor playing to go along with your new CO bumper. I went with PP Engineering for radiator back to gas tank.
How long ago was your P&P order? Lately I’ve read they’re in some cases over a year lead time with dodgy communication.
Well... I found somebody who had most of the plates on marketplace for a song, so I just had to order the radiator plate and some hardware. Still took a couple months.
Send this to Coastal! Even the grill looks serviceable (although it’s probably not). It really saved your X. I’d say fix it.
Looks like the bumper did its job.
Am I the only one who expected the bumper to not fall apart?
for real, granted i was in an F250 with a ranchhand doing 80 and hit a hog, only my license plate was bent. Hog did not make it...
Pretty sure not everything was fully welded. And not well enough on parts that were.

Just market it as a pre-frontal crush zone.
Coastal offroad

Is that bumper made of Legos?

Just a lighthearted joke, glad you are OK and yeah I agree looks like it did the job and hopefully protected the frame
You're going to get terrible gas mileage at 80mph
Probably shouldn’t hit deer going that fast
Alternatively, that's one fast deer
I was going to say, didn’t know deer went that fast.

With how expensive cars are now? I’d say fix it and you’re good man. Glad you’re alright 🤙

Driving to a family reunion from college I got hit somewhere between Huntsville and Waco and my xterra ended up in mexia so somewhere around there
Sorry that happened man, from the looks it’s reparable so that’s good! Glad that bumper kept your X mostly intact though.

Wow! The way he laid out those parts for you to reinstall….considerate!
As a fellow Texan, I love that you’re keeping our stereotype of Texas pride alive. I haven’t seen a Texterra in years.
Did you salvage the venison?
I call BS! Deer can’t run that fast! J/K. Glad you are OK and hope you can fix up the X. I would be shaking for half an hour afterwards.
I just got off the phone with the adjuster and they are covering it thankfully

Yeiks
Decals from Temu?? I saw them on there and almost got them.
Doeth!
I'll be rooting for you OP
Your front guard did its job… check frame….but it looks fine to me

It probably fine, but I would get it inspected
Gas’s tank is busted lol
Your bumper and hoop saved your rig. Awesome!
Didn’t know deer could run 80 mph
Did you never full weld the bumper? All the pieces look tack welded
Poor Deer
At least you got a BBQ at home right?
How he run that fast
Did u eat the deer at least?
Hit one this year in my 2012 pathfinder doing 75. Drove that beast home.
Is the deer ok?
You’re lucky to be alive

zoom in on the last pic, the welds look like bird shit. def a half ass diy job.
