I've heard that it was part of the intended humor of the movie, in response to Buscemi's character talking so much in Fargo. Hence all the "Shut the fuck up, Donny" in Lebowski
Well I looooved him when I was a teenager, I’d say Trees Lounge, Con Air, Fargo… but he’s so good in all the things he’s in! In fact, he sent me an autograph for my 16th bday, I still have it framed on my living room wall 25 years later…

"I was up a few towns away- you know Saragosa? I was visiting a bar there, not unlike this one. They serve beer, not quite as good as this, but close. And I saw something you wouldn't believe. I'm sitting there, see, small table all by myself. Now this bar, it's full of real low-lives. I mean, not like this place here. No, I mean bad. Like they were up to no good, know what I'm sayin'? Anyway, I'm all by myself, I like it that way. Meanwhile, things are going on... under the table kinds of things. Not too obvious, but, not too secret, either. So, I'm sitting there, and in walks the biggest Mexican I have ever seen. Big as shit. Just walks right in like he owns the place. Now, nobody knew quite what to make of him, or quite what to think. There he was and in he walked. He was dark, too. I don't mean dark-skinned. No, this was different. It was as if he was always walking in a shadow. I mean every step he took towards the light, just when you thought his face was about to be revealed, it wasn't. It was as if the lights dimmed, just for him."
Has to be Desperado for me, dawg.
Also an early Peter Dinklage already very vocal about the casting of little people.
“I don’t even have dreams with dwarves in them!”
Great movie. Very, very 90s.
I mean... Boardwalk Empire is underrated. Finally, he gets a lead role and he's a fucking badass.
I can hear people right now, already... _Bwahhh... Resivour Dogs, Big Lebowski!!!! Bwahhhh!!!_
Apples and oranges.
Lots of good roles mentioned but a few others:
His role in The Sopranos was great.
Small but important role in “Big Fish”
Reservoir Dogs, if it has been mentioned already, sorry
Desperado. "In walks the biggest Mexican I've ever seen. Big as shit!
Bah, It won't let me imbed.

My favorite is probably Mr. Deeds or Billy Madison. Although he did play a very great part in the Pete Davidson movie The King of Staten Island. The film was much better than i expected going in.
As a mid-40s medical student I often picture that gif of him with the skateboard whenever I’m around my fellow students.
How do you do fellow students?
Living in Oblivion. I stumbled on it one night when I had a day off from the movie theater I worked at. Boss offered me free passes to it at one of our other theaters. Some kind of special screening. Loved it.
I've seen a lot of things that he's been in, but the vast majority are very small parts where he's there for a few lines here or there to make an impact. I guess my favorite would be Con Air and his voice work in Monster's Inc as Randall.
Shout out for his acting in 28 days (rehab movie w/ Sandra Bullock). Kind of a sleeper film, but I'll never forget some of his lines. He plays an alcoholic in recovery who acts as kind of a sponsor/group lead at the detox center.

Why do I gotta be Mr. Pink?
Because you’re a… well.
I don't tip.
Fargo
I mean TBL is my favorite movie with him in it but he’s obviously showing more skill in Fargo (which is also awesome obviously).
The Big Lebowski and Reservoir Dogs are really high on my list too, it's really hard to choose!
The Big Lebowski is one of my favorite movies, but yeah, his acting is so good in Fargo, I've gotta call Fargo the best Buchemi performance.
Same. It’s actually pretty odd that TBL even casted someone as skilled and well known as Buscemi only to barely even use him
I've heard that it was part of the intended humor of the movie, in response to Buscemi's character talking so much in Fargo. Hence all the "Shut the fuck up, Donny" in Lebowski

Shut the fuck up, Donny
I am the walrus
Phone’s ringin, Dude!
Thank you, Donny!
V.I. Lenin! Vladimir Ilich Ulyanov!
Over the line, mark it six!
Who has the dudes undies?
Your phone's ringing, Dude
This is the only true answer
What do you need that for dude?
Broadwalk Empire

The Wedding Singer

The best man! *Better* man….
Self taught, no lessons, thank you very much POPS!
Lol
I go with the homeless guy from Big Daddy if we're talking Sandler movies.
Ghost World
Move a little slower why don't cha!
I was going to suggest this. Notably obscure.
God I loved Thora Birch. Whatever happened to her?
She was on WTF pod a few years ago—both her parents were in _Deep Throat_(!). She’s been working. Apparently she’s in Mayfair Witches now.
Her father ruined her career.
Ooo I forgot about this movie
Steve B is my favorite and Ghost World is my favorite of his.
Nobody is going to get this one https://i.redd.it/y1krma00ou4d1.gif Honorable mention: Con Air, he was the only thing holding that movie together
He's got the whole world in his hands
Perhaps the most “sane” insane person in the film…which made his character even more creepy
Airheads
*Trick question. Lemmy IS god*
This one.
Same. Rex rocks!!
I just got the shirt from that
I opened this thread just to say this lol
Billy Madison
![gif](giphy|10gMDcaONSDLfq)
Boy I’m glad I called that guy!!
Hahaha I came here for this
This is the only one mentioned so far that I've even seen.
Reservoir Dogs. Mr. Pink was such a realistic dickhead.
The only professional around there, really.
Dick dick dick dick dick dick dick dick dick.
Thats a lot of dicks.
Why don't you tip?
![gif](giphy|3o6Zthzg5lOs7enRIY|downsized)
I had to scroll way too far down to upvote this
https://i.redd.it/q23xuir0pu4d1.gif There is only one answer.
I had to scroll too far...smdh lol
![gif](giphy|XCHBRXHlWqQA8) I laugh every single time during his scenes.
I think we posted at the same time, I was trying to find one of him with the guitar “no lessons, self taught. Thank you very much, Pop!”
Do you really want to hurt me?
Well I looooved him when I was a teenager, I’d say Trees Lounge, Con Air, Fargo… but he’s so good in all the things he’s in! Hey, step aside, he was *MY* crush. ❤️🩹 😄 But that is so freaking awesome!
Trees Lounge! Man I haven’t seen that in too long
'Yeah, I know. That's why I drink 🥃 straight. The ice cubes are too heavy.' 😊
“You ever kill anybody in Korea?” “what career?”
I liked him a lot in ConAir
A bunch of idiots dancing to a song made famous by a band that died in a plane crash.
Pete and Pete
Deep cut
Boardwalk Empire
Over the Sopranos? OK, OK....I got you
Yes, no dig on The Sopranos but BW was one of the best shows ever on HBO. Especially the third season.
Sopranos is a better, great show but Boardwalk Empire was Steve Buscemi's show. Tony B isn't his best work, Nucky is.

This glass is dirty
Same...all the way. With Six Blade Knife playing in the background. I loved the hell out of that movie.
Trees Lounge was a real gem
Volunteering to work the pile at ground zero > all movies combined we love you and thank you Steve
Airheads or Con Air
Yeah, I'm on this team. lol
Living in Oblivion
So glad someone else remembers this!
Did you know the pretentious blowhard actor was based on Brad Pitt? Explains so much
Also an early Peter Dinklage already very vocal about the casting of little people. “I don’t even have dreams with dwarves in them!” Great movie. Very, very 90s.
Fargo
![gif](giphy|3oFzlXH7rBJvtbnmNO) My favorite movie!
Awoooooo!
There is no Steve. Only Donnie.
Anything with him in it is awesome. He's my celebrity boyfriend.
Watched Fargo the other day. He kills it in that movie.

I mean... Boardwalk Empire is underrated. Finally, he gets a lead role and he's a fucking badass. I can hear people right now, already... _Bwahhh... Resivour Dogs, Big Lebowski!!!! Bwahhhh!!!_ Apples and oranges.
No one has mentioned his role as Nikita Kruschev in Death of Stalin, so I will. But really, it's probably Reservoir Dogs or Ghost World.
Oh that is so good , that and all his roles in Miracle Workers
Mr. Deeds.
Lots of good roles mentioned but a few others: His role in The Sopranos was great. Small but important role in “Big Fish” Reservoir Dogs, if it has been mentioned already, sorry
Boardwalk Empire. I'd only ever seen him in either non-serious roles or as a psycho. This role knocked me over.
Armageddon
You know we're sitting on four million pounds of fuel, one nuclear weapon, and a thing that has 270,000 moving parts built by the lowest bidder.
His work on 9/11.
Desperado. "In walks the biggest Mexican I've ever seen. Big as shit! Bah, It won't let me imbed. [https://youtu.be/JjNxVmyoLIo?si=pg7jw4dVYuUrq2cu](https://youtu.be/JjNxVmyoLIo?si=pg7jw4dVYuUrq2cu)
Fuck yes.
STFU Donny
You mean that murdering cousin of yours that killed my brother? … he was just a kid. That animal.. I can’t even say his name.
Don’t do it to yourself Philly.
Twenty years in the can and not even a thank you from you I get.
My favorite is probably Mr. Deeds or Billy Madison. Although he did play a very great part in the Pete Davidson movie The King of Staten Island. The film was much better than i expected going in.
Sopranos
oh shit... ummm... Gotta be Fargo, right?
Celery guy on Portlandia.
Desperado (1995)
As a mid-40s medical student I often picture that gif of him with the skateboard whenever I’m around my fellow students. How do you do fellow students?
Haha, I was much older than most of my fellow med students and residents and felt the same way.
Rex in Airheads.
ConAir. We're fucking done here
Kinda funny lookin'
Ed and His Dead Mother
Pulp Fiction
Hudsucker Proxy
Living in Oblivion. I stumbled on it one night when I had a day off from the movie theater I worked at. Boss offered me free passes to it at one of our other theaters. Some kind of special screening. Loved it.
Con Air
I've seen a lot of things that he's been in, but the vast majority are very small parts where he's there for a few lines here or there to make an impact. I guess my favorite would be Con Air and his voice work in Monster's Inc as Randall.
Lebowski
Sopranos and Billy Madison
Con Air
Absolutely airheads. Such a great movie
Escape From LA anyone???
Fargo
My first instinct - Con air
Billy Madison. It was a small role but he made it memorable.
Prob the big lebowski or Reservoir dogs
Billy Madison
A little known movie from the mid99s called Trees Lounge.
Miracle Workers!
Ghost world.
Boardwalk empire
Definitely Boardwalk Empire, despite so many runners-up!
Shout out for his acting in 28 days (rehab movie w/ Sandra Bullock). Kind of a sleeper film, but I'll never forget some of his lines. He plays an alcoholic in recovery who acts as kind of a sponsor/group lead at the detox center.
He's perfectly creepy in Con Air
Pretty much everything. Even that very small thing with Lewis c.k. that barely anyone saw. He's awesome
