This was one of those moments where the album exceeds the expectations of the lead single.
"Sunday Morning" blew my mind right off the bat.
Something for everyone on this one for sure.
It’s got so much depth. I’ve listened to this album start to finish more than almost anything. Just an amazing collection of well written, beautifully performed songs.
Def the best song well I still haven't listened to the entire Tragic Kingdom but I love this track! Discovered this song way later than the other popular ones. I heard Don't Speak and SpiderWebs thousands of times because of radio and music videos back then. Crazy this song is better than the more popular ones. I wonder if it wasn't all on the radio and music videos in the 90's because it was about crossdressing? Did your local radio station play this gem back then?
I saw them as the headline a concert with Lit and the Black Eyed Peas. Broke up with who I thought was the love of my life during Don’t Speak. That’s song hits so hard.
Ugh. The biggest concert regret is not seeing Bush, Goo Goo Dolls, No Doubt at the closing of Memorial Auditorium in Buffalo. The Goos being from Buffalo so it was a big deal.
This was my happy place! Until THIS! and it changed my whole life...

I was very fortunate to grow up in Anaheim during the time when they were coming up. They were everywhere. Almost unavoidable. But I never got tired of them. And they just got better and better and better until it felt like it was just a matter of time until they hit it big. And they did! Great memories
I wouldn’t say they were hit or miss afterwards… maybe under that name they weren’t all bangers anymore, but Gwen Stefani went on to a very successful career and Tony Kanal worked with her on her solo stuff.
I think the bigger issue is that Gwen Stefani began to focus on her solo career.
I listed to this one over and over and over again. Still one of my faves! Enjoyed seeing them perform a few of these hits on the Coachella streams recently, too.
There's very few radio stations that play anything resembling rock where I live, and I swear they h lave a mandate to play a song off this album at least four times a day.
I think it has something to do with Anaheim, where the band originates.
Disneyland is located there too, and it's the "magic kingdom."
And it's located in Orange county where they used to grow a lot of oranges.
Nailed it. It’s supposed to look like an old-timey logo/ad on a fruit crate. Here’s some examples from [Google](https://www.google.com/search?q=vintage+citrus+crate+labels&client=safari&sca_esv=71f05e2e21dd7941&hl=en-us&udm=2&biw=342&bih=573&sxsrf=ADLYWIJWBx99WpIoOVoJMzdkgLXJU6Zu-w%3A1719104491508&ei=63N3ZonYHqzA0PEPwoqX0Aw&oq=vintage+citrus+crate&gs_lp=EhNtb2JpbGUtZ3dzLXdpei1zZXJwIhR2aW50YWdlIGNpdHJ1cyBjcmF0ZSoCCAAyBRAAGIAEMgcQABiABBgYMggQABiABBiiBDIIEAAYgAQYogQyCBAAGIAEGKIESK4pUNMNWIodcAB4AJABAZgBqwGgAaYHqgEDMy42uAEByAEA-AEBmAIHoAKrBcICBBAjGCfCAgUQIRirApgDAIgGAZIHAzIuNaAH6R8&sclient=mobile-gws-wiz-serp)
Yeah I’m pretty sure Gwen’s brother did some work for Disney, or someone close to the band did, and it wasn’t the best experience. I used to know the lore but not anymore.
Probably one of my top albums of all time! I spent the every summer during high school at my dad’s house. I was miserable but blasted this as loud as I could everyday and made it through that summer in 1997. I’m 42 now but this is still one of those albums I put on full blast and loudly sing every single lyric.
The grio this album had on me and my friends in high school. Then we discovered their self-titled album. I still listen to both of them on the regular.
I have memories of bringing my discman and a small set of speakers when I spent weekends at my dad's house so that I could listen to that album many many times.
Florence and the Machine recently covered "I'm just a girl". It's a great cover.
Oh man. My very first concert. When I was 11. My dad took me and complained the entire time, wishing he'd brought binoculars to watch all the people in the mosh pit ❤️
I received this album as a Christmas gift from my older GenX sister. It was my first cd and I felt so grown up. Listened to it religiously. I was painfully obsessed with Gwen; I wanted to be her so badly.
She was the reason I plucked my eyebrows thin. They never really grew back and half of what’s left are white now.

Sunday Morning popped into my brain as soon as I saw this post. I love that song.
Underrated song for sure!

Honestly, this album is pure gold, but 'Hey you', 'SIXTEEN', and 'Happy now?' Are top tier.
That opening guitar riff on sixteen still makes me want to break stuff.
That pause on music toward the end and then it drops right back in with a guitar solo is hands down my favorite part of that song.
Yeah that shit is so good
Hey You might be my favorite song on the album.
Fantastic album and my first concert.
Mine too! Weezer opened.
Was that in Jersey?
SLC, UT
What an opener! Mine was the vandals
I saw them as the headline a concert with Lit and the Black Eyed Peas. Broke up with who I thought was the love of my life during Don’t Speak. That’s song hits so hard.
Ditto. No Doubt opened for Bush.
Ugh. The biggest concert regret is not seeing Bush, Goo Goo Dolls, No Doubt at the closing of Memorial Auditorium in Buffalo. The Goos being from Buffalo so it was a big deal.
I went to that show at Red Rocks! My first concert in a large venue. 1996.
SAME! It was awesome! At the E Center in Camden, NJ.
Ok, How many of you had Spider Web as your answering machine recording? My 9th grade girlfriend did.
I think it was my ICQ status for about 2 years.
The title track is the best of the album. I will die on this hill.
I’m with you on that hill.
God it’s so fucking good Remain seated please Permanecer sentados por favor
My first CD. Still a fucking banger, and still waiting for those cornfields of popcorn to spring open.
My first as well!
One of my road trip cds. You just put it on and let it play
Still a GREAT album.
Went to HS with the drummer
What was he like?
Quiet. But they were all pretty cool as kids too.
This was my happy place! Until THIS! and it changed my whole life... https://preview.redd.it/f26sy9wktc8d1.jpeg?width=748&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3bc97a522e2eb0d5689519c4f412018908921d9c
I just heard Don't Speak on the radio and thought about how great of a band they were. They were amazing.
Sunday Morning is my fav track
This album was virtually inescapable my freshman year of college. The music was just everywhere.
Any love for "end it on this"? One of my favorites from this album
I was very fortunate to grow up in Anaheim during the time when they were coming up. They were everywhere. Almost unavoidable. But I never got tired of them. And they just got better and better and better until it felt like it was just a matter of time until they hit it big. And they did! Great memories
I still listen to this album and sing along with every song!
It was my first CD. That and the Batman Forever soundtrack lol. Quite an eclectic blend.
Definitely got (stole) this album from Columbia House lol. 12 cds for a penny!
Saw them at HFStival when this album came out.. great show— will never forget it.
This might have been my first CD purchase after the transition away from tapes.
Far and away one of my favorite albums!
I bought this CD (along with Garbage's first album) at Blockbuster Music.
I listed to this one over and over and over again. Still one of my faves! Enjoyed seeing them perform a few of these hits on the Coachella streams recently, too.
She was so freaking good.
Amazing album!
There's very few radio stations that play anything resembling rock where I live, and I swear they h lave a mandate to play a song off this album at least four times a day.
Only No Doubt album I like… they really lost it after this
Return of Saturn had a couple good tracks like “Ex-girlfriend” and “New” but TK was definitely their peak
Everything before is also bad. I wonder why this one is so good
Yeah, most of their other albums aren't very good, this one is a masterpiece though.
Hated it. From the start. And looking at the comments, I'm in the minority. She always felt phoney to me.
I never understood the album art
I think it has something to do with Anaheim, where the band originates. Disneyland is located there too, and it's the "magic kingdom." And it's located in Orange county where they used to grow a lot of oranges.

Eric Stefani left to do animations for The Simpsons as I recall.
I always saw a bit of Adam and Eve going on here too but it’s oranges instead of apples because of Orange County
Well now I know what to listen to while I clean my fish tanks.
That band was surprisingly kickass
I saw them on the tour for the album, they weren't the headliners, dance hall crashers were.
I would have liked to see that one. I loved Dance Hall Crashers.
The "secret" symphony track, I loved it, I dunno it always got me in the feels.
This, Dookie, and Smash were the first albums I ever bought with my own money.
Probably one of my top albums of all time! I spent the every summer during high school at my dad’s house. One of my first CDs
I'm salty that I never saw then in concert.
This is in my top ten favorite albums.
Banger album.
my 1st CD
Played on repeat 🫀
I can hear this album from the first few seconds of music just from seeing this cover. So wild.
Listened to this on cassette until it self destructed.
I don’t like what Gwen became but man this album slapped
The real tragedy was her career.
Exactly. They were a phenomenal band.
Oh man. My very first concert. When I was 11. My dad took me and complained the entire time, wishing he'd brought binoculars to watch all the people in the mosh pit ❤️
I loved this album and still do. My first ever concert was No Doubt and Weezer. So many happy memories!
Came for Don’t Speak. Stayed for The Climb.
This album ruled… No Doubt
I received this album as a Christmas gift from my older GenX sister. It was my first cd and I felt so grown up. Listened to it religiously. I was painfully obsessed with Gwen; I wanted to be her so badly. She was the reason I plucked my eyebrows thin. They never really grew back and half of what’s left are white now.
Their first two albums (Tragic Kingdom is third) have a lot of really good songs on them as well.
It’s a great album.
Can’t hate it
The classical guitar in don't speak is so fucking good.
Bought this when it was released… still have the original CD…. But nothing to play it on.. lol
This reminds me of that Sevendust album cover.
They were on the 1st Van’s Warped tour and it was a great show!
