As a huge Ridley Alien universe fan, I don't get the hate.
It's corny at times but it's excellent imo.
Winona Ryder was great.
Ron Perlman brought some attitude to it.
The Aliens themselves and introducing them underwater was awesome.
The queen.
The "Kill me" scene.
Ripley not really being Ripley was interesting.
I watched it recently and I wasn't disappointed.
I loved Resurrection. I thought Sigourney is diabolical in this incantation-like revival of a movie, or franchise. Definitely a no brainer. Funniest thing about her is she's one hard butt chick to consider them having had cloned *after* giving birth (to a possible Queen). Definietly one of my most enjoyable movies I ever witnessed being invited to watch Adult-Like Movies with my Mother.
My issue... is Ripley didn't need to be in it. Ripley was sci-fi horror, this was more like Dark Horse comics Sci fi action. What I'm saying is this could have been it's own shoot off and it would have been better being it's own thing. You could still do the clone character, but yeah, they should have blazed their own path with this
That whole dynamic made me very uncomfortable when I saw it when I was a younger lad.
Check out the original design of the Newborn by the way. Giger definitely would have appreciated it.
The Newborn is a wonderfully disturbing critter. I love the design. Hungry, empty eyes, bloated belly filled with eldritch secrets, and a real momma’s boy. He just need a hug.
Amazing underrated movie. Likely panned though for some lower grade acting and kinda dumb storyline.
But the visuals and warnings alone make this a movie to experience. The lab scene with "mistakes" (I'm not going to ruin it for you) is especially memorable.
Perfect cast. I love the scene where Raymond Cruz is excited about seeing an android.
The setting/set design was excellent.
The visual/directing style was precise, and it worked.
Whether it is a great alien sequel is debatable, but it is an excellent movie on its own.
I think I’m the only one who really enjoyed this movie. It’s got that Dark Horse graphic novel feel and didn’t take itself too seriously. I really liked the scoundrel smugglers and evil corporate scientists, both were cool. Ron Perlman was great- the alien designs were also great! Loved the scene were their swimming. Honestly I prefer this ham fest over the last two movies.
I like Ripley with a bit of the stank of heartless alien in her. Also the mercenary crew seemed a bit like Joss Whedon was throwing out the seeds of what would become Firefly.
Is it better than the original and sequel? No it isn’t, but it didn’t need to be. Nor was it going to be better. Nonetheless it’s a great sci-fi film. It’s different than the original and sequel in tone, which makes it unique in the franchise and I liked it. It almost felt like a spin off and anthological. I remember not liking it the first time I saw it but watched it again and again and again. At that point I realized I did like it, and was a good movie. Only poor marketing and the zeitgeist of what the previous films achieved made it feel underwhelming. It certainly grew on me and is definitely an underrated sci-fi flick.
Ripley killed herself in Alien 3. Ripley is a clone imprinted with DNA leftover from being impregnated by a xenomorph. Hence the title Resurrection. I could be wrong but this subtle fact seems lost or missed when reading fandom or criticism of part 4. IMHo one of the greatest overall plots of the whole series.
I watched it years ago when it came out but I didn't really like it. I prefer the first two. The first is awesome. Prometeus too is pretty good, specially the sexy android.
I watched it at the theaters back then, and even though I did it only once, there're lots of scenes engraved in my brain.
Ripley playing Basketball
The dude in the wheelchair hiding a huge ass gun to pass the metal detector
The caged aliens which are studied and being tortured, learning to fear the red button
The same aliens fighting eachother to escape the cage using the acid blood
The underwater scene (I remember holding my breath as I watched it)
Ripley discovering she's a clone and seeing the other failed Ripleys asking to die (by a flamethrower)
How the dude in the wheelchair didn't feel the acid blood in his legs
How grotesque and unique was the human-alien design
Overall, I share the same views as others here. It's a fun movie with strong, memorable moments with great actors in it. It's not as good as Alien 1 and 2 obviously, but it's still a good sequel and a way better one than Alien 3.
Fun fact - when Sigourney throws the ball behind her without looking, and it goes right through the hoop, that genuinely happened! Everyone was so surprised, they had to edit out the reaction of the actors and the crew!
Jos Whedon wrote it. It's the closest thought to Firefly vs Alien that we'll ever get.
Also I appreciate more and more these, the sequels and prequels that moved in from the original film's structure. They tried to give us something new, instead of rehashing the same shit over and over. Just look at the upcoming film....
I like the end and I'm not joking. They land at our planet and the world is destroyed by nuclear war. Year is around 2300 and since there's a probability for nuclear war happening that's quite high even today. So world destroy till 2400 is quite possible.

Its production design, the sets for the Auriga are really interesting, photography and lighting since there are some beautiful shots there, color palette as well.
I liked the movie pretty much all the way around. The only thing I would probably change even though it was cool looking was the hybrid. I mean it had Ron Perlman and Michael Wincott. Whats not to love?
Michael Wincott. The unsung hero of the 1990s. Every time he springs up in a movie, I just have to keep watching. I was so happy to see him in this. Can you imagine my excitement when he showed up in Jordan Peele's NOPE!?!?! I just think he has the most bad ass voice.
This was by far the worst one in the franchise that weren't Ripley that was some freak of nature experiment, then the whole "My Baby" shit she had going on with the Alien...... Dafuq we're they thinking? It was a pile of Hot Garbage and I make a point of trying to forget it exists.
It has been a long time but for memory it felt entirely 90s cheesey action blockbuster and far less of the gloomy magic of the first two. Maybe a victim of high expectations I guess
Definitely leans into cheese. but also has some great visuals. not as bad i remembered. wasn't what i wanted, for sure, but has its own merits and charm
The cheesy human-alien and animal-alien hybrid specimens in the lab. I remember seeing them and thinking haha, wtf?
Who is going to cross an alien (quite possibly the most lethal creature that ever existed ) with a 4 legged earth animal/mammal?! Like what? lol no
Then you hear more and more about Dulce. 😳

Totally agreed.
it wasn't what we wanted at the time. as time passed. i feel it got better after acceptance

Soundtracks is dope too.
I fucking love Hybrid Ripley. Weaver absolutely nails it.
I agree with you!! It’s different than the others but I enjoyed it.

I think the design of the newborn and the bizarre dynamic it had with ripley was really compelling.
And not one of those skull crushing hugs he gives Raymond Cruz’s character at the end.
The Ripley clone. I love this tragic version of Ripley spliced together with the monster that she's hated for such a long time.
By far the slimiest aliens in the whole series
Aliens in water
Amazing underrated movie. Likely panned though for some lower grade acting and kinda dumb storyline. But the visuals and warnings alone make this a movie to experience. The lab scene with "mistakes" (I'm not going to ruin it for you) is especially memorable.
vibe, visuals, color
Winona is beautiful
This!
the PlayStation game was gold!
Hell yeah! Played that a TON. One of my favorite PS1 games.
Perfect cast. I love the scene where Raymond Cruz is excited about seeing an android. The setting/set design was excellent. The visual/directing style was precise, and it worked. Whether it is a great alien sequel is debatable, but it is an excellent movie on its own.
“I never thought I’d SEE one!”
Weaver and Ryder are both in their absolute prime. Perlman, too. The xenos looked pretty good.
I think I’m the only one who really enjoyed this movie. It’s got that Dark Horse graphic novel feel and didn’t take itself too seriously. Funny, I just rewatched Alien the other day and am watching Aliens right now.
Good gore
My fav thing about it is that we got another Alien movie
In this order: Ron Perlman, Michael Wincott, Brad Dourif, Dan Hedaya, Gary Dourdan.
One of the darkest and most surreal sci-fi films I’ve ever seen. But it’s strangely taxing. I always hesitate to watch it.
I had the translucent alien action figure from back in the day. I loved the water ones so much as a kid.
Winona
Scary. Aliens. Sigorny weaver
I watched this on some real good LSD and I was sooooooooooo glad when they reached that planet ! I was soooooooo happy for the remaining few
Good lord lol. Never would I ever.
I liked everything but criss cross , dna - cheap yin yang plot element.
Ron Pullman
I liked when she turned in her chair and showed her terrestrial.
I like that the mentat guy from Lynch’s Dune is in it.
Femdom Ridley and Ron Perlman
Sigourney looked dangerous from start to end. She played it so well you could never tell just when/if Ripley was about to go postal.
I mean that clone wasn't really ripley..some bastardized human/alien combo and she played it really well. Felt sinister but still kinda Ripley.
Ngl my favorite part is when the
It made the prison one seem better.
Powerful female protagonists. They’ve got a chip in their shoulder and nothin to lose and they won’t let anything get in their way.
I like Ripley with a bit of the stank of heartless alien in her. Also the mercenary crew seemed a bit like Joss Whedon was throwing out the seeds of what would become Firefly.
When Winona Ryder reveals she's an auton and Ripley gives her a dirty look . The hatred for droids is inherent
It has Winona
Is it better than the original and sequel? No it isn’t, but it didn’t need to be. Nor was it going to be better. Nonetheless it’s a great sci-fi film. It's much better than 3
[удалено]
Nah its a popular opinion. Alien 3 had an interesting concept but the pacing and whole vibe didn't make it an alien movie anymore.
I disagree.
When it ended
Indeed. It was B-Tier shite.
The water scene.
I like this film! Weaver, Perlman, and Wyder are all great!!
The best 'Delta P' scene in any movie ever.
Basketball 🏀
I like the opening scenes where they are extracting and breeding the xenomorphs
The Xenomorphs discussing their escape plan.
Nothing! Even H.R. Giger hated it saying, "The Alien at the end looks like a giant turd". He was right.
I watched it years ago when it came out but I didn't really like it. I prefer the first two. The first is awesome. Prometeus too is pretty good, specially the sexy android.

Loved seeing this badass version of Ripley.

It’s really alien3 that’s shit, not resurrection
I disagree.
100%
![gif](giphy|eJiztXG1ZXrBZT8dq4) Boob.
Hahaha yeah was there only one boob or was there 2? I can't remember but I remember said boob(s) was quite sad looking.

Remember how pissed everyone was that the emergency system was sending them back to Earth?
I think you meant to post in r/xenomorph

Nothing. Nothing at all.
It ends.
Charles S. Dutton, is great as usual.
Cinematography, fluorescent lighting
Its production design, the sets for the Auriga are really interesting, photography and lighting since there are some beautiful shots there, color palette as well.
Earth, what a **shithole**
Swimming through the flooded kitchen !
Seeing the xenomorphs swim was kind of cool?
The water scene, obviously. Also…the right way to polish shoes.
Mi casa su casa.
I liked the movie pretty much all the way around. The only thing I would probably change even though it was cool looking was the hybrid. I mean it had Ron Perlman and Michael Wincott. Whats not to love?
Booze cubes! Ripley's basketball toss. Deleted scenes with the ruins of Paris.
One of my favourite alien movies! The only thing I do that like is the final boss, but because it's gross 😝
Earth man... What a shit hole
I can speak alien!.. ☊⍜⍜⌰⟒⌇⏁\_⏃⌰⟟⟒⋏
Riley is a smoke show as usual
Michael Wincott. The unsung hero of the 1990s. Every time he springs up in a movie, I just have to keep watching. I was so happy to see him in this. Can you imagine my excitement when he showed up in Jordan Peele's NOPE!?!?! I just think he has the most bad ass voice.
Winona Ryder
The end
Actually all alien films are grade in my opinion
This is a fun movie! Lt. Ripley is a magnificent badass.
It got adapted into a legitimately very good PS1 game that paved the way for how FPS games would end up controlling on console
At one point it ended. That's about the best thing I can say about this abomination of a film..
This was by far the worst one in the franchise that weren't Ripley that was some freak of nature experiment, then the whole "My Baby" shit she had going on with the Alien...... Dafuq we're they thinking? It was a pile of Hot Garbage and I make a point of trying to forget it exists.
It ended.

The poster
The midget and the black rasta, we only needed the magician Indian to have it all
That I can’t remember it, other than it was awful. Banished out of my mind
try again with a fresh perspective.
It was bad... if I got the Aliens collection set, I'd sell this DVD/bluray on Ebay to one of you...
The cheesy human-alien and animal-alien hybrid specimens in the lab. I remember seeing them and thinking haha, wtf? Who is going to cross an alien (quite possibly the most lethal creature that ever existed ) with a 4 legged earth animal/mammal?! Like what? lol no Then you hear more and more about Dulce. 😳
Had my first bj while watching that movie in the cinema, from that day on I call it alien reserection
The credits ..
No.
