Capt_Hangoverrrr

I started with powah lava generators. Pumping lava from nether with create hose pulley into ender tank and mekanism pipe.

jam_manty

Early game I started with 6 of these. Then I got mystical agriculture to make everything I need to fill up powah nitro reactors. Now i have 12 nitro lava generators and two two nitro reactors. It's just over 700k/t. It's plenty right now.

Nethergrave

I'm currently running 3m rf/t from fission + fusion reactors. Using mystical agriculture for fuel production for the fission. I can scale up to about 15m rf/t from fission alone, but I don't have the need and I filled my induction chamber with 51 trillion rf

jam_manty

I've done the full mek route in the past. You need the antimatter for the star I believe so I'll be going down that route soon.

Nethergrave

Yep you sure do. It's the only reason I run my fission reactor, though I need to rebuild it because it exploded for some reason

ZeRealNixon

i used to be scared of the mek fission reactor, but i finally went through it on my very first atm9 play through and loved it. it was so much fun to get set up, and as a result made me appreciate mek as a whole more and now it's my favorite mod.

Nethergrave

It's super fun, though a little frustrating to make fissile fuel at first due to all the many steps

ZeRealNixon

i found that the quest book in atm9 to explain it quite well. i got fissile fuel production up and running on my first attempt with just the quest book. i was always just scared of the whole possibility of the reactor going boom boom

Nethergrave

Yea it's a definite possibility. My reactor is supposed to have the failsafe setup, which I guess I need to check to make sure it works still cuz it clearly isn't

Capt_Hangoverrrr

Started with 7 hardened, when upgrading make some mistakes in crafting terminal so ended up with 15 spirited. Good for now. Setting up resource generation now to make the nitro stuff of powah.

Gh3ttoboy

I usally start with about 8 to 16 heat generators from mekanism since they produce passive power with adjacent lava and they can also sit in lava for even more passive power then i work on about 256 wind turbines from mekanism then work on powah stuff and i go with about 128 to 256 nitro thermo generators placed on blazing crystal blocks and then i work on mekanism fissile reactor for an industrial turbine and liquid cooled fusion reactor to produce even more steam for the industrial turbine and my turbine usaly makes about 48 million rf/t fully steamed up and i make the fission reactor and turbine there max size and ofcourse while im working on more power i work on more fissile fuel production so i never run out of uranium/sulfur those are the 2 things i tend to run out of the most running a max size fissile reactor and turbine combo

DeadlySoren

Without a single doubt or any close competitor. The best power generation in the game is the mekanism fusion reactor. 200MFE/tick from water, infinitely. Enough to power a whole endgame base all the way to gregstar by itself and you’ll never have to worry about it. No risks, only downside is you have to run are fission reactor for a while to get enough materials but if you build a big one you can get enough in a couple hours. Behind fusion reactor you have things like the Powah nitro lava gens with soul lava. Limited by trekking through that crappy dimension without flight. Energy gen is decent but not as good as fusion. Behind that you have the Powah reactors and big reactor. Limited by fuel you have to keep supplying them with. Worse than the lava gens cus of fuel requirements. Last on the list of power options I would consider is the fusion reactor plus turbine from mekanism. I’d only use this while building to get the fusion reactor. Shit fuel to get, meh energy generation, explodes with annoying radiation. EDIT: 200MFE/tick for fusion, not GFE

RelativeAd1078

I want to build a fusion reactor but I'm just now starting to build a fission reactor. Will upgrade to fusion asap.

DeadlySoren

Fusion reactor is my favourite multi block in the pack. It’s just great all round and getting it is very satisfying. Have fun! Mekanism has tons of cool stuff

SizeMajestic9171

Does it produce more Output with water coolant? I thought 200MFE / tick was the highest output here.

DeadlySoren

Sorry, GFE was a typo. While it can produce more if you convert it to steam and run it through turbines (like 4 of them cus thats how much steam it can do), the correct amount is 200MFE/tick.

PancakeWaffles5

If my memory serves correct of default mekanism, you only need like 48 or 52 polonium pellets to make the fusion reactor, which doesn't really take that much time. You just need to worry about the fuel and the cooling, which you can use a sink(cooking for blockheads) to infinitely provide with water. Just make sure you have adequate pump rate to counteract the burn rate

kagato87

It's a lot of clicking getting the pumps going for deuterium though...

DeadlySoren

Can’t tell if this is a joke or not lol

kagato87

Kinda. I just finished stuffing all the speed upgrade modules into the pumps. Going in and out of 55 machines... :)

AccountIsTaken

You can hold the upgrades and right click the machine with them to insert them.

kagato87

I swear I tried that... Thanks. I'll try it again.

InboardPlague37

Its shift + right click to install upgrades directly into mekanism machines. The "upgrades" panel can show what upgrades are supported by the machine.

kagato87

I used the upgrades panel to install all upgrades on all the pumps... Yea, I should have thought of using the same method the tier installers use. Oh well. It's humming along now.

DeadlySoren

Hold shift and right click with enough upgrades in your inventory and just walk down the line of pumps.

begnauddevon

For early power, I'm a fan of going extreme reactors. My fiest 5x5x5 produced 10k which got me decently far, then I made a reinforced 14x14x14 which made something like 70k which held up decently and then from there I went the fusion reactor route and set up micro processors to Automate DT and had it sitting at ~38m rf/t.

ThisIsNotMyPornVideo

Went the same Route, but most importantly. ENERGY STORAGE, ideally the Induction Matrix from Mekanism. 70k FE/t, is Good, but if you can't put it anywhere, it's ass

RunemasterLiam

I'd go for a Powah reactor, and here's why. I binged through all Powah tiers from Basic to Nitro just today. Used up a couple million FE I racked up over time thanks to a bunch of Mekanism solar and wind turbines I had set up early on, which allowed me to craft all energized materials up to Niotic (halfway through) and then I decided to get all 36 blocks of said reactor. It generates insane amounts of power and requires little to no maintenance or automation: just uraninite (you can turn AllTheOres uranium into Powah-compatible fuel using the energizing orb), some water, some dry ice and optionally, some coal and redstone. Upgrade it twice and you're set for all the midgame.

zLuckyChance

This is the best to lead to end game power. I have 100m FE in a Energy Cell and produce about 50k per tick and it all started with a solar panel.

Nethergrave

I didn't go powah generator with soul lava, but I did do an extreme reactor and just scaled up till I got melanism fission and fusion

anotheranonymoustor

Use powah thermal generators with soul lava they make 13500 of a tick (max teir) and are zero matinence

Routine_Wishbone

This sounds great. Where do I find the soul lava ? I know it’s in The Other but wow …. That place is huge and empty.

BodiaDobia

You can use a nature compass and search up ancient deltas. They are usually underground.

Routine_Wishbone

Thank you. I will give that a try

Routine_Wishbone

Also can’t fly there is it is really hard

4thReaper

Just use Ars Leap spell with some amplifies to yeet yourself around.

ItzOmni

That was one of the first config changes I made. Wayyy too big to not be able to fly

Routine_Wishbone

Great idea. I’m going to change that :)

AdSecret5063

Nitro thermal generators with soul lava under them produce 31500 RF each easily stackable make a hyperbox with them and you are golden 1 layer of them produces about 5mRF per tick but that maybe expensive for you instead just make a powah reactor

Abzo_lutely

Well if you're not that far in the game you can use a couple thermo generators with soul lava underneath (about three kept me running even with cross-dimensional upgrade on my wireless grid from RS). After that you can go ahead for the fission and then the fusion reactor once you get enough power.

Unlucky_Feature_3804

I love Powah and it’s relatively painless to start.

Elysko22

Mid game, nitro thermal generator over soul lava is31.5k/tick, easy ti to make, I have 15 and its too op for midgame, later you will need reactor

EnderScout_77

they point that out in a tips and tricks quest, i tried it and holy SHIT it's a great option if you get to the other

Elysko22

Holy shit is just too OP for mid game

ThisNameIsNewAndOG

Aim for the Mek fusion reactor, it isnt expensive at all and Im getting 21M passively with no maintainence and self sustaining fuel.

GodzillasDiarrhea

Hands down the best way would be a mekanism fission reactor thats running at 50mb/t. I think it gives your around 4 million fe per tick. It also builds up the materials needed for the fusion reactor and antimatter passivly if you ever want to upgrade again after that. You just need a lot of steel and mekanism autocrafting and then its fairly cheap.
