So this man was just standing in line minding his own damn business, and someone comes up and asks him to sign a dirty napkin? Yeah, I’d turn away too.

RodeoBoss66

All those local news people and their palatial estates. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Dear-Bumblebee1787

I’ve heard alot of the people in the colonies is on tv.

fraghawk

The station higher ups? sure. On air talent? Hahaha no. They don't make as much as you think. Trust me.

nreshackleford

They make very, very little actually. You have to get to the Dallas-sized markets before you really start banking as an on-air personality.

TXSAXONCO420

or you could leave people alone

flawschoolgrad

lmao weather people aren’t celebrities you weirdo

Dear-Bumblebee1787

Why did John Harris throw the first pitch at the soddys game ?

flawschoolgrad

dude they let little kids throw out first pitches too, did you ask one of them for an autograph?

Dear-Bumblebee1787

No they aren’t on tv 📺

bigmilker

I’ve thrown out a first pitch and I ain’t shit, lol

MrBunnywiggles

This is one of the weirdest things I’ve ever seen on this subreddit. He’s a local weatherman for a relatively small and inconsequential city. I guarantee he doesn’t make a lot of cash and if he lives in a fancy house it is from some other life circumstance like a rich family or spouse.

flawschoolgrad

i bet he thought this guy was being an asshole asking for his autograph

RedHotPepperedAngus

I ran into Doppler Dave at United and didn’t give a fuck

curtmandu

Doppler Dave coached my Kids Inc. t-ball team and I didn’t listen to him for *shit*

The_midge1

People should be left alone in public. The I pay their salaries is worn out. Advertising pays on news and sports and you probably change the channel anyway when commercials come on.

AmaSlim

So true. I’m tired of Police asking me questions while in public. Apparently they hate the we pay your salary line too.

randytc18

If it was Doppler Dave I'll just say he has a reputation for being an ass..I worked in media in Amarillo long enough and heard stories about a few from ch10. Most on air personalities, especially in training markets are really easy going.

FIL_W

I was in line behind Doppler Dave out at Sam's Club several years ago. It was the middle of July. The only thing he had to check out with was a snow shovel. I looked at him and said "Is there something I should know" in a straight face he looked at me and said "Well it is Amarillo you can't be too careful" I along with everyone else within earshot completely lost it.

bagofwisdom

Not the first time I've heard that. However, a very good friend of mine from Middle and High School was at the KAMR weather desk up until a few years ago. Super nice guy to everybody still sends me a text message on my birthday and we've been out of school for decades.

randytc18

Some of the coolest people work in media...😁

bagofwisdom

You're right, but they can also be the most colossal of dicks too. I worked at a AAA video game studio for 2 years. It was 50/50 coolest people and outright dicks.... including my former boss which is why I don't work there anymore.

leviolentfemme

Can confirm. Also work in media. But not the tv stations, thankfully 😅.

fraghawk

Think I know exactly who you are talking about, and if so, yes he's an awesome guy and was a great coworker:)

wittyrabbit999

Roy McCoy would have signed.

bugdrug

OP just needs to learn to mind their own business.

lilpressed

my friend growing up had the biggest crush on john harris and that alarmed me. still does.

Dear-Bumblebee1787

Yeah he’s a hottie

SashaMickleson

They don’t make alot
