The tech just gave me another eero 6e pro device. So one running wired directly to the modem. Main eero is about 50-60 feet away from my wireless eero.
This is because there's a hidden channel that the Eeros use that isn't be accessed by any devices and it's dedicated only for the Eeros to use, plus the Eeros 6E pros like to use DFS channels which have the least amount interference in the WiFi space unless emergency services or weather radar triggers it to switch channels.
They do, it has a 2.4 and 5ghz hidden channels for the wireless back haul, I'm not sure if it has the 6ghz hidden channel I'll check it out when I get back home
I just never knew that you could connect them and then plug directly into an ethernet with it. My Eero is right next to my computer but my speeds went up A LOT. Just crazy.
Yeah. Unfortunately I can't go that route even if I wanted too. Just still impressed with how well it works still being wireless. I'm assuming it is the 6e bands making this happen.
This is how I have all my desktops — plugged into 6E Pro Ethernet ports connected to the gateway via WiFi/mesh. Works great. You can even plug a switch junto it if you need more ports. Those ports works great.
I supose by ip you mean internet provider. But the correct acronym is ISP for internet service provider. Because IP usualy used for internet adress like 24.200.13.12 for exemple. I wish it help have a great Day.
This is awesome news! I’m in a similar situation and you’ve really helped me solve my problem. I’m also brand new so I really appreciate that you posted this instead of just celebrating in private haha
With more research into this. It has to be the 6e bands making this possible. Though it is still the same distance, the 6e bands just have way less interference. Then wiring into the unit itself just essentially is making the eero a glorified wireless adapter. Tested with gaming and though I didn't have many problems, I noticed improvements.
I am just renting the hardware from my ISP but if you're buying, the Deco 6e devices look really good and for a good price with better wireless backhaul performance. Amazon in the US have them going for $180ish if you only need 1G/bit speeds for your home.
I went from 3x Pro 6E’s to 3x Max 7’s and my speeds around the house increased from 2x (lowest increase, nearest base unit) to 6x faster on the edges. It’s bananas
Mesh setup is always better. My parents’ and grandparents’ (both sets) internet was awful. Switched them to a 3 Eero setup from their basic router and it’s so much better for them.
Nice. Do you have some pics of said extension. I'm intrigued.

Ah gotcha. Yes definitely set up in mesh. When it works it's the best. Glad your getting good speeds. Enjoy.

Makes a lot of sense!!!
I read that the pro 6e’s do not have a dedicated backhaul like the pro 6s did.

Depends on your setup too. I have pro 6s because of where my internet connection is.

Wired for whatever reason has better backhaul.
Less interference and things competing. Wired is just data in and out to the one thing :)

That is exactly what I meant. Thanks for the breakdown.
2 Pro 6E nodes meshing on the 6 GHz (or even 5 GHz) radio on 160 MHz channels probably beats whatever WiFi adapter you have in your device yeah.
I thought I knew wireless. Just shows i don't know it all lmao.

They meant they added another eero node.
My bad. New to this lol
