If they have to switch to a plane with a different layout, first moves to business, business to preferred, all the way down. I doubt the person who answers the phone has any idea what is happening.
This happened to me and my GFs seats on a DFW-MAD flight last year when an agent apparently tried to confirm SWUs on the domestic leg of the international itinerary when there was no upgrade space left on the long haul leg
Just happened to me on LGA-BOS tomorrow AM. Was 9A when I booked and magically moved to 15B after I checked in. There must be a glitch in the matrix…
How did you book the flight? I have had concur do this to me before.

This happened to me on my last flight due to an equipment change.
Just happened to me from MCE to the last row separating my wife and I on our flight to Rome tomorrow 🤬
Wild. Did you pay extra for MCE?
No I get the seats free as a platinum member but still
I’d be livid. Last row for a transatlantic flight? My legs are screaming thinking about it.
Livid is an understatement ðŸ˜
