Last time I did this I requested it from AA on April 14 and got a reply on May 2, they misspelled my name, and didn't include information I had requested that my policy needed, so be specific in your request. When I had to do this on UA it took them two business days, they had everything in a tidy PDF, and included all the relevant info.

Thank you very much. I have this strange thought that the airline must provide the reason for delay / cancelation instantly by email.

If you log in and view your trip on the website, there should be a button to view the itinerary which should give you a PDF of the completed flight (which you need proof of) and on the bottom, will show the rebooking information and reason which usually will have a CXL note in it. If you can find this document, you can submit that and that should be all you need. The Allianz system is stupid tho. I submit everything, wait for their stupid automated letter, send an email pointing out the info, then open a BBB complaint. I usually get the claim approved 24 hours later when someone from the executive response team calls back.

When I did that [aa.com](http://aa.com) could not find the trip with PNR. Then, I entered the ticket number. It said "this trip credit is used". There is no PDF.
