The Brave franchise is a creation of the same toy company that created Transformers, Takara. There's no direct relation storywise or anything like that, but it's very much the same concept and definitely a sister series to Transformers. The first Brave series (Exkaiser) even reuses some mecha designs from Transformers I believe.
