Purposelygentle

I’m sorry, The Asshair Ripper?

MapoTofuMan

Must be a good friend of Perv Asshat.

mekerpan

Thought the same thing....

Littlemac95

Or ketsuno ana

Schadenfrueda

And possibly Purvan Suul

cppn02

Loved how it just kept playing in the background with the most ridiculous plot. edit: Is the Asshair Ripper just a Japanese Ass Crack Bandit? [](#rengethink)

WholeLotOfSomething

A plot we'll never get the end of. I was invested.

Emi_Ibarazakiii

Wish they would give us a 30 second scene of this plot every episode (kinda like the Simpsons do with that movie), we'd have the full story by the end of the season!

Rumpel1408

Also pretty sure it's a Conan parody [](#seasonallaugh)

dinliner08

>*"after Asshair Ripper killed Iwase-san, they ripped out his ass hair and spread it in the corridor"* excuse me, nani the fuck?

Purposelygentle

I mean, at least he killed them first, imagine getting your asshair ripped out first and then the guy kills you.

Emi_Ibarazakiii

If you say his name 2 more times, he'll appear behind you and rip your asshair! [](#spooked)

The_Parsee_Man

So free Brazilians?

diacewrb

I am glad I wasn't the only one to notice this. I laughed way harder at this then I had any right to do so, it was so absurd and random.

The_Parsee_Man

Totally normal way to kill someone.

LeonKevlar

I love how Sara went from skateboarding [to learning how to ride a bike.](https://i.imgur.com/JoUlD1a.jpeg) It would be hilarious if we start the next episode with her learning another mode of transportation. [It's good to see Puriketsu again](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/my2pco6vjx7.jpg) or I guess we can just call her [by her actual name, Asumi.](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/pyq9ce69xm4.jpg) Thanks to Asumi, [Livia learned how to do a cold plunge after a sauna.](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/myd5crb6nl4.jpg) Poor Asumi. We just learned that the reason she's working at a shady club [is because she needs money for her band](https://i.imgur.com/cDuUV5g.png) and now [they're already disbanding.](https://i.imgur.com/HTV2Lp8.png) It looks like she's the only one who's really serious about becoming a pro. If they weren't that serious, they really should've told Asumi earlier [before she started working at that sex club](https://i.imgur.com/xxcwjyv.png) to fund them. [That Karaoke scene was fun!](https://i.imgur.com/DtMBiuZ.jpeg) Sara's silly song about cabbages was hilarious. We also get to see [Asumi actually sing](https://i.imgur.com/7je6Wv7.jpeg) and she definitely has talent considering how everyone at the cafe praised her. Considering [that next episode preview with her and Livia](https://i.imgur.com/zn8Rqn7.jpeg), maybe the dream is not dead yet! Livia really should learn [to avoid this guy from now on.](https://i.imgur.com/cgTUSS0.jpeg) Sure, she's not asking Livia to do something lewd this time but this time she's being recruited [to buy limited items so he can resell them](https://i.imgur.com/2xZUODW.jpg) which is even worse. Resellers are fucking scum and I'm glad [Sousuke and Sara explained it to her](https://i.imgur.com/Lpj8L0y.jpeg) before she got in too deep. By the way, what the fuck is up with this episode? I know this show won't win awards in animation but the previous episodes weren't this bad. I feel like this episode has been outsourced. Like half of the episode is pretty much slideshows of static images. Hopefully [that won't be the case next week.](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/k739c63lzz7.jpg)

kwokinator

> Hopefully that won't be the case next week I'm fine with a half hour slideshow if it's an extension of that shot ° ͜ʖ ͡°

Figerally

Despite the slideshow I felt the anime was engaging enough to overlook that. It's when you are bored with an anime that your attention starts to wander and you start noticing stuff like that.

AnimeHoarder

>[Sousuke and Sara explained it to her](https://i.imgur.com/Lpj8L0y.jpeg) Sousuke and Sara should insist that Livia live with them so they can vet her job offers. >[That Karaoke scene was fun!](https://i.imgur.com/DtMBiuZ.jpeg) We could have had *Henjin no Salad Bowl - The Musical Episode!*

apatt

>Sousuke and Sara should insist that Livia live with them so they can vet her job offers. Yes, I feel like they leave Livia to her own devices too much considering she still doesn't have a good understanding of the society and culture she is in. My only gripe about this anime is that they are not treating Livia well, hopefully she is about to join a band and I hope it will work out. Suddenly another girl band in this anime season!

AsterJ

I'm pretty annoyed they are just letting her be homeless. That's not how friends treat each other. It's clear Livia is being prideful when she declines their offer to her own detriment. They should just insist, the princess could easily order her to stay with them so Livia has a safe place to sleep while she figures things out.

apatt

Yes, Livia is only too prideful because she doesn't know any better about how this world works. Hopefully things are about to change for her.

sangriapenguin

It's really frustrating... Livia doesn't have a means of learning the common sense of the world. She's homeless and constantly faces food insecurity. Sara has Sousuke, books, TV, internet, and her new friend to teach her what is "normal" in this world. Livia only knows homelessness so it's hard to escape it. She only hangs out with people in dicey situations themselves. It has become her new normal. I felt bad when they were lecturing her about helping the scalpers. She got like $19 (3000 yen) for the job and said she was gonna "splurge" on a meal. With ~$19! I hope Livia gets treated better soon...

apatt

Yeah, def frustrating. That's no way to treat one of the best girls of this season. I generally like the writing of this show, but Livia's misadventures are kinda ill conceived I think. Too much imbalance between Sara's cozy life and Livia's destitute circumstances. And Sara should have lunch or dinner with her every day so they can keep tabs on each other.

Figerally

On one hand it is frustrating, but at the same time Livia's misadventures add to the show as well so we feel really conflicted.

FlameDragoon933

I actually think Livia getting a different job every week is a fun plot. Sure, it sucks for her, and I'm not a sadist or anything, but her mind seems tough enough that she's never depressed despite her homelessness or anything, so it doesn't strike me as anything really tragic. It *is* comedy at her expense, but she's only slightly bothered by it so... is it that bad?

alotmorealots

I do wonder if the author themselves spent some time homeless (something strongly telegraphed by the fact that Suzuki-dono was an author), and that a large part of writing this series is to show that although being homeless has many awful aspects, it's still something that people can go through and come out the other side. Thus it presents both the instability of it, and the parts of society that it brings you into contact with but also presents Livia as heroic nonetheless. Also, this shifts the perspective a bit - the author doesn't see a need to rescue Livia from homelessness given their own perspective on the topic. It does seem that for all the comedy of her struggles, Livia seems likely to be able to leverage herself out of her situation, and is intent on this.

sangriapenguin

> I do wonder if the author themselves spent some time homeless Sometimes I wonder that as well. They don't demonize the homeless folks at all and that one girl she met at the sex club is actually pretty cool with her own aspirations. They all just do what they need to survive, yet they help each other out. I just wish Livia had a safe place to fail or someone to tell her that a job/place might be a bit too dicey.. Unfortunately, the things she's gotten into could result in active harm happening to her if they had gone wrong. I admire Livia's strength, you can only take pride so far :(

alotmorealots

> you can only take pride so far :( I also do wonder if this is part of what the author is trying to share, if they have first hand experience, although perhaps for them, maintaining that pride was ultimately what got them out of their situation? Or something? I guess the series' position on it remains to be seen, but given the nature of the writing I wouldn't be surprised if the author has a particular attitude they want to communicate. It's pretty clear where they stand on resellers lol

SogePrinceSama

They are pitting Livia and Sara apart from each other as basically isekai aliens to this Earth to gauge how the 1) Have-nots (Livia) vs the 2) Haves (Princess Sara) are treated differently in this world. Both Livia and Sara have similar values, and both can use magic from the isekai world while both have had zero clue about Japanese/Earth values and civilization starting from Episode 1. The things that Livia learns about society are FAR DIFFERENT from the things Sara learns, with a competent parent/guardian like Sousuke there to not only provide food/shelter/education to her vs Livia learning how to strictly survive/hustle/carpe diem from her homeless friends and Puriketsu/Asumi (I bet not even Sara knows the joy of 'resetting' for instance, or how to live off of cooked grasshoppers if you ever find yourself destitute and hungry). They are both learning about the world of Japan in their own ways, and I think each route taken is not only valid, but highly-entertaining. I don't want to see Livia get bailed out by Sara and The Detective at all, I want her to keep learning things the hard way while Sara excels at things the 'proper' way.

Figerally

Couldn't have said it better myself, but we can still be mad at Sousuke for not helping out more. At least he offered to let her crash on the coach if things get to roung, but at the same time he could buy her a swag and sleeping bag so she can cope better as the cold sets in,

scot911

> By the way, what the fuck is up with this episode? I know this show won't win awards in animation but the previous episodes weren't this bad. I feel like this episode has been outsourced. Like half of the episode is pretty much slideshows of static images. Yeah this episode was badddd on the animation front. Which is surprising because I thought the animation for this was actually quite good before this episode. Not amazing by any means but better than I thought it'd be.

Viktorv22

Hopefully it's just one off, it sometimes happens, I guess staff can be unavailable, etc...

MightyMouseVsBatBat

I'm three minutes in and I'm wondering if I'm watching the same show I watched last week. It's not just the animation. The art is a completely different style and it's not an improvement.

Figerally

A big problem Livia has is that she is an illegal. If she could overcome that hurdle it'd go a long way to solving her problems. Surely Sousuke can help out with that? Then she wouldn't have to accept shady jobs from that guy.

szalhi

They really weren't kidding with the title. This setting really is a salad bowl. After P-chan, I feel like this is a new trend and we're going to be getting one every season.

MapoTofuMan

This is Pii-chan done right imo, Pii-chan tried to stray from slice of life to isekai politics, and it wasn't very good at it.

mekerpan

This is SO different from Pii-chan that I can't really see much resemblance. A much MUCH simpler plot (such as it is) - and the characters actually show signs of vitality (and are interesting).

apatt

Didn't somebody mention that the character designs are done by the same artists or something? Anyway I agree this show is far superior to the very mid *Sasaki and Peeps*, the characters, humour and storyline are all great so far.

mekerpan

Alas, I felt that Sasaki started out as a watchable mid level show -- and steadily went downbhill from there.

apatt

Yes, for me at least *Salad Bowl of Eccentrics* never started off as a mid show, loved it from the first episode, and it's continuously improving (animation quality notwithstanding).

mekerpan

Ditto. It made it onto my will-definitely-be-following list right with its first episode. And it has indeed just gotten better as it has moved forward.

Shardwing

>  Didn't somebody mention that the character designs are done by the same artists or something? They are, yeah.

kalirion

Also kept forgiving murderous villains. Fuck that.

f5d64s8r3ki15s9gh652

Hey now, genocide is totally morally ok if you’re a cute magical girl.

kalirion

Her too, but at least she's a really dumb little kid. I was talking more about adults like that Duke or whatever from the isekai side and the OP-but-too-dumb-to-know-how-to-properly-use-his-own-power esper from JP side. The latter one especially, them just letting him go after defeating his attempts to murder them is the reason I'm not going to tune in for S2.

ComfortableHuman1324

Funnily enough, this and P-chan have the same LN illustrator.

VTuberFadeaway

Pii-chan felt like it wanted to tackle everything at the same time. In contrast, this show just wants to take every corner it encounters.

SometimesMainSupport

Where was [Sara's helmet](https://i.imgur.com/rhKpdmU.png) last week while [skateboarding?!?](https://i.imgur.com/mvOT6nz.png) Can I move to [Gifu for their breakfast prices?](https://i.imgur.com/67YLBDc.png) Only after they've addressed [economic terrorism](https://i.imgur.com/UWrw88W.png), of course. [A few other Sara faces in here.](https://imgur.com/a/6VUMRyu)

Ocixo

> Can I move to Gifu for their breakfast prices? The propaganda is working. (I’m genuinely wondering if this anime isn’t part of some plan to combat a possible depopulation of Gifu.)

SometimesMainSupport

Still think it's just the author living in Gifu and using references he's familiar with. Hasn't been Jashin-chan levels of advertising and most governments wouldn't want the homeless propaganda.

viliml

The OP is literally a string of photos and drone recordings of Gifu.

Viktorv22

I mean why not, I'm always interested in seeing not that common settings, in this case it doesn't have to be Tokyo all the time for example

mekerpan

The (underappreciated) Mug Cup was definitely aimed at drumming up tourism for (southern) Gifu.

larana1192

>Cheap breakfast in Gifu It's called "モーニング(Morning) " and this is very popular breakfast menu/culture in chukyo region of Japan(Nagoya,Toyota,Gifu etc).

alotmorealots

> モーニング More proof that Japanese and English are the same language, and it's just the anglosphere that's yet to catch-up with the other half of it that they're missing lol

Calwings

The [Gifu Prefecture shilling](https://files.catbox.moe/9km6id.png) in this show is so shameless and blatant that I almost have to applaud its straightforwardness. Even with that and the animation quality melting a little, this was still a solid episode. It's nice seeing Sara and Livia make new friends like Priketsu that *aren't* shady or in some kind of cult.

Ocixo

> Livia make a new friends like Priketsu that aren’t shady or in some kind of cult. She made friends with some fellow homeless people. They seemed like lovely people! (This anime honestly deserves respect for depicting the homeless with some dignity instead of pretending that they’re all bums.) But yeah, it’s nice to see Livia find a friend in a fellow girl like Priketsu that’s closer in age.

mekerpan

I actually enjoy selling the charms of various prefectures in anime. PA Works does this not infrequently (and they do it pretty darn well -- even spawning and promoting a new festival with Hanasaku iroha).

HobnobsTheRed

> I actually enjoy selling the charms of various prefectures in anime Same. I have fond memories of the [Yatogame-chan Kansatsu Nikki](https://myanimelist.net/anime/37940/) short-form show for that reason. (Amongst others.) Not only was it a fun little shill for Nagoya, it also leant into the stereotypes and rivalry between the surrounding areas (and Tokyo) for its comedy, sprinkled some really interested pop-culture in there (such as the "Nagoya Skip"), and even managed to turn two of the characters into one of my Ships of the Season... which was really impressive given it was only 3m per ep! Actually thought about it when I saw the breakfasts, because of Komeda's "Morning Service" and its (in)famous [Shiro-Noir](https://i.imgur.com/OdLrxmz.png).

mekerpan

I didn't watch all of the Nagoya-promotion series -- but did enjoy what I saw. I was especially amused (and surprised) by their diss of Nagoya Castle.

scot911

> or in some kind of cult. Speak of the cult that next episode preview shows they'll be back! I'm excited to see how they've changed since they've found their "messiah".

#Sara's Case Closed Progress - Episode 1: [Volume 1](https://i.imgur.com/Gpav3cI.jpeg) - Episode 2: Unknown - Episode 3: [Volume 2](https://i.imgur.com/NH4ILeR.jpeg) - Episode 4: [Volume 9](https://i.imgur.com/QB9geSq.jpeg) - ED: [Volume 9](https://i.imgur.com/1ldcvxA.jpeg) - Episode 5: Unknown

BlueDragonCultist

Thank you for keeping track of the critical info. I'm surprised at Sara's progress between episodes three and four. It's funny you happen to track the progress through two different Japanese written works; this and Bookworm WN chapters covered by pre-pubs. They're oddly similar (though also not similar at all, lol).

IXajll

Yesss another Livia (and Priketsu) focused episode. I’m pretty sure I’m not imagining this but the art quality unfortunately took a huge nosedive this episode. Compared to all the previous episodes it looked a lot worse imo, especially the characters and their faces. Wouldn’t be surprised if the episode was outsourced to some b-studio. Hopefully this week was just the exception and not the new standard. Besides the visuals, really good episode as always.

Ocixo

> Wouldn’t be surprised if the episode was outsourced to some b-studio. I was thinking the same thing. The dip in quality was most noticeable in Livia’s face, which was drawn in maybe up to a dozen different ways. Considering that the series has been very consistent so far, I’m expecting this to be an exception. I still enjoyed all the shenanigans nonetheless.

Infodump_Ibis

> the art quality unfortunately took a huge nosedive this episode Come to think of it I think same thing happened with the previous Studio Comet work back in Winter 2023; Reborn to Master the Blade: From Hero-King to Extraordinary Squire. I found out about that last week and gave myself copium that somehow co-produce with SynergySP would mean it didn't happen again. I say previous but technically in 2023 they also co-produced Sweet Reincarnation with SynergySP and Rent-A-Girlfriend (Season 3) with TMS.

vantheman9

all the time and effort they had went to Sara's dance

ModieOfTheEast

I mainly noticed it with the lip flaps. They were simple and didn't even match the spoken words a lot of the time. It was still fun though.

Elite_Alice

Another Livia focused episode let’s goo! Felt bad for her friend who lost her band, job and is now homeless. They kinda mask it with jokes and the cutsey art style, but there’s a lot of messed up subjects and situations in this show. On the bright side, Pukiretsu can obviously sing as we saw at the Karaoke bar with Sara, so hopefully she can get back on her feet and start getting singing gigs. She probably carried the band anyway. Didn’t expect to see this show touch on resellers. Very modern and relevant problem for anyone who’s into fashion or collectibles. The resale market is so ass with bots and scalpers these days it’s almost impossible to get some items at retail. Didn’t know that they even paid people to go stand in line as well. Blonde dude is such a scumbag for taking advantage of Livia with the host bar and now this Gunpla resale scheme. Hope Sosuke can eventually bust him for something. It’s also CRAZY to me that sosuke and Sara know Livia are homeless and struggling and still got her on the street by herself. “You can sleep on my couch at night” dude of course she can, she’s a lady 😭 I know it makes for funny plot developments, but damn. Chill episode.

mekerpan

I assume that LIvia IS going to camp out in either the office -- or maybe with Puriketsu....

Rumpel1408

Poor [Priketsu](https://imgur.com/IeRap7K) [](#holdme) she got real talent (at least more than [others](https://imgur.com/FHe8m4p)), hope she succeeds in her dream eventually Oh look [plastic crack](https://imgur.com/NkALIGl), and yeah [death to resellers](https://imgur.com/tHmmk7W) (also stop making limited products Bandai, the demand is clearly there for more)

Calwings

>Oh look [plastic crack](https://imgur.com/NkALIGl) At least with this, you actually have a physical product that you know you can continue to enjoy as long as you want. It could have been much worse: she could have gotten addicted to a gacha game.

FlameDragoon933

could be funny if Livia's next gig is being a gacha game / MMORPG jockey (grinding/farming service).

mekerpan

Looks like Livia (with guitar) and maybe another girl are joining with Puriketsu. I wonder if Princess will at least be an occasional guest vocalist? In any event, it looks like I have yet another girls music show to my shows this season -- but without adding an additional thing to watch....

Emi_Ibarazakiii

[Meanwhile, Livia's planning for winter as a homeless person...](https://imgur.com/17Bp36s) She seems to have accepted her situation, and doesn't even think of solutions to eat better food and all! Love how the others are like [*"Oh no, crazy lady's talking to herself, let's go somewhere else"*](https://imgur.com/D4Ahib4) [Hey, Puriketsu's back! I knew she had too good a character design, to be a one-time thing!](https://imgur.com/QbimK83) I love the hair on this show, mostly her and Sara! It seemed to be implied that Puriketsu was the one keeping them afloat too, and yet [they were grossed out by her working at this club?](https://imgur.com/7xKBvav) With friends like these... [That dude again! (I like when characters come back, even if this one's not particularly great hah)](https://imgur.com/eqduyjU) Good thing he doesn't suspect her; They bring her in and get raided right away, they might have thought she was an undercover cop, or an informant or something! He offered her another job, [a one time gig? RUN LIVIA!](https://imgur.com/mcAE5AM) Alright, it wasn't as bad as I thought, just reselling... (It's pretty bad in itself, but I feared he might hire her as a prostitute for a big/rich client!) Sara doesn't seem to take it as lightly; [**UTTERLY EVIL ECONOMIC TERRORISTS!**](https://imgur.com/0HTxxV2) I'm surprised she even knows about reselling; Has she read about that in Conan? She even told Livia to commit Seppuku (as a joke), [and she was gonna do it too!](https://imgur.com/3Cc73dh) [](#panic) In the end she did forgive her, but she made her swear to never do it again... [I wonder what's gonna be her next dubious job (probably for the same dude)!](https://imgur.com/nvWetQp) [Was nice of him to offer to let her sleep at the office! I do hope they're reunited, at some point!](https://imgur.com/Xw9qE9B) When they brought up Puriketsu's band I thought Livia would join in as an idol, and according to the preview of her with a guitar, it may happen still! Though it does seem like she will also do... [another job (model? Something dubious)?](https://imgur.com/Ax8wRLX) Can't wait to see!

cppn02

> Are they eligible for the "Best father/daughter" award even if they're not actually father/daughter? They are. But starting next week they'll get some strong competition from [Meta]>!Elf Bride!<.

dekiru81

The budget for this anime is a bunch of buttons one of the animators found in the left pocket of the coat of one of the governors of the gifu prefecture

whodisguy32

Bro why is the show so funny?? Just in this ep, we get: Asshair ripper Cabbage vs lettuce Livia's reactions to the princess

FlameDragoon933

Livia ready to actually commit seppuku really cracked me up Fortunately Sara is like "it's just a prank bro"

Express-Day5234

I know this is a comedy but this bit didn’t really work for me. It just seemed like Sara kicking Livia while she was down.

NationalStrategy

Remember kids, reselling products disrupts the market, and that's no good

Ocixo

In Sara’s words: scalpers are “utterly evil economic terrorists” that have no place in this world.

didhe

Never die, merchant hate (forever BC—Present)...

Phnrcm

I think chasing Livia back into homelessness while she is still clueless of the world is recipe for disaster. It was lucky for her that the shady guy is just a low level hustler, so she was only involved with reselling.

ModieOfTheEast

I was kind of expecting her to stay at her new friend's house after she now has more space. Maybe she could try learn the guitar and together they become the world's most famous band ... made in Gifu prefecture of course.

raevnos

They'll have serious competition from a Saga prefecture-based girl band, though.

kirvedx

Yea still kinda bewildered at how coldly she was chased off. I know she volunteered, but enough witnesses aware of the situation should have concluded that 'this is not the right move to make'. I get the bad feeling that some bad turns for all involved are going to happen because Livia is going to attract too much attention. Though, I can also say that I couldn't guess which way this is gonna go with any confidence.

kalirion

> Yea still kinda bewildered at how coldly she was chased off. I know she volunteered, but enough witnesses aware of the situation should have concluded that 'this is not the right move to make'. What exactly are you talking about? Her being fired for being a poor fit for the detective agency? What "witnesses", in that case?

kirvedx

Whoa, I'm sensing some animosity here lol. However, I think you're looking at this with a tad bit of tunnel vision. There's much more to the situation than 'a girl fired for being a poor fit for the detective agency'. I'm referring to - from the beginning - how she was initially just considered a bother by the MC, and princess didn't do much arguing - let alone as the intelligent intellectual that she is, much of any struggling to work out a solution that kept Livia from being homeless. She basically took advantage of Livia's willingness to go off on her own and not be a burden. The princess wasn't invited to work for the detective agency, she forced herself in; MC was just looking out for her due to his understanding of the situation; Why not for Livia as well? These two girls were all that each other had to rely on, princess - as I said previously - only made it to MC's earth because Livia essentially sacrificed herself so the princess could get away; and decided herself to follow the princess, wanting to ensure her continued safety, etc. Princess could have easily forced an accommodation for Livia and even helped her get established herself. In a gist: Princess didn't expect Livia to follow - or maybe it was that she didn't expect her to survive, but she did. Princess managed to solidify a set of circumstances for herself; Livia is kind of like a third wheel; The indifference is a bit cold - that's essentially where I'm coming from, and whether she was a poor fit for the detective agency or not doesn't really change that IMHO. My further comments just contribute to the notion that, part of why MC decided to help princess out was compassion in consideration of her lack of credentials, identification, understanding of the world and society, and the major trouble she could find herself in especially with her magic. He was content to simply let her freeload as a result. But with Livia, it's like - "You're not cut out to be detective, please leave (not just your position here, but the home). Good luck on the streets!" At the end of the day, I wouldn't want to be a burden either, and would likewise insist; But you bet I'd be feeling unwanted and lonely and depressed when they just said "great, see ya later, good luck!" Livia's eaten grasshoppers, worn the same clothes every day, walked everywhere, got lured into a sex club as a hostess, conned, sleeps in cardboard. After all she's done, Princess is still pampered and says "peace girl, you on your own!". On another note: I can't help but think how this would be the first time I've seen this scenario play out this way. The typical trope is that princess's personal attendant forcefully stays by the princess side; Arguing every manner of "I can't leave the princess with such a perverse beast" excuse possible - and essentially forcing the necessity for her to be there too. Even in Devil as a part timer, they were very loyal to each other. Also, as I thought about it: 'You can sleep on the couch at night" was only recently offered. Really? But go eat grasshoppers in the interim? I'd definitely (as the MC) have **insisted**\[!!\] that the two of them stay together - essentially those 2 are the only people each other knows with any closeness; Similar to family, in this foreign world. Having witnessed their preference for me to go after offering my lack of desire to be a burden - I wouldn't suddenly take the offer either, I'd do what Livia is now doing and insisting at this point that I'm doing just fine. Don't do me any favors! But, yes, that is what I'm talking about; I thought it was pretty cold as presented. EDIT: Oh and by "witnesses" - especially "enough witnesses" - I'm referring to everyone that matters in this context: Mainly, the Main Character and the princess.

Express-Day5234

It’s definitely a plot contrivance to continue Livia’s homeless adventures. At least have Sara show more concern or fight a little harder for Livia to stay so she doesn’t seem so indifferent about it.

Ocixo

Sara is so precious. That exciting yelling of hers is just the cutest thing ever. This anime really knows how to hit me with a dose of nostalgia. Sosuke watching over Sara as she was stumbling along on her bicycle, trying to find her balance, reminded me a great deal of my dad and me back in the day. Sara’s song was hilarious. The wonky animation might’ve even made it better. Loved how the entire cafe was enjoying themselves.

BaconCatBug

Is the translation of reseller accurate or would the correct term be scalper?

lcfiretruck

Scalper is for sure way better, but reseller isn't *wrong.* It's just the type of translation that happens when you give it to someone pumping things out without any thought. You can and should demand more from professionals in this industry.

xtsim

Man, feeling bad for Priketsu as her band gave up on the dream and she has actual talent. Hopefully someone can fully appreciate that talent. That sketchy guy that has jobs needs to get investigated, recruiting for a shady bar to reselling. Along with getting homeless people to do his dirty work, there's got to be a case for him. Man, that store guy gave a quiz and the reseller had the answer, scalpers have no boundaries. That preview...I am concerned about Priketsu getting dragged with Livia the savior.

cppn02

Sara learning to ride a bike was great. Hope we'll actually get to see her Yuna take a trip with their bikes.

actuallyrndthoughts

For something titled "salad bowl" this sure has a lot of content for any Livia-related demand. And looks like next week too. Not complaining though!

AceSoldia

Please help Livia get a job. How can you just let her do this Sosuke..even if you can't afford to pay her I'm sure you could help her more than this.

LezRock

I definitely feel bad for Livia. She's struggling to survive, but she still has a positive attitude and outlook. The series touches upon various dark topics, so I'm wondering if Livia is supposed to represent the illegal immigrant and the struggles they face? I don't know enough about illegal immigration in Japan to understand if that's a big issue there or not, and I only have a passing knowledge that some immigrants to Japan with little education and/or skills could end up in similarly bad situations.

VorAtreides

D'awww look at Sara learning to ride a bike, cute. What a good foster dad he is being. Dang it girl, ask for help from them... oh hey, that other girl from that scummy hostess club. Nice of Livia to have a gal pal to talk with. Lol at that show's name for the murderer. Ya, no, don't want a cold bath... but, hey, they seem to be having fun. Oh dang... poor girl, the band breaking up. Her poor dream 😦 Oh wow, that's quite the things for her friends/bandmates to say. Haha, meanwhile, cute silliness with Sara and Sousuke. That is a silly kaoroke bit. Oh hey, it's Livia's friend, Priketsu or whatever. Ewww the scummy dude again. This "job" sounds sus. 3000 yen is like $20.... that's all you're getting? What is the real deal of this. Seriously... that all feels sus. Take Sousuke up on that offer, Livia... it's safer and healthier for you. Oh Sousuke is sus of her job too. Even Sara realizes it's sus lol. Oh it's just a scummy scalper/reseller? I mean... that's better than what I was assuming which was far more illegal. Still scummy. wew that preview of next episode

Ocixo

> What a good foster dad he is being. I didn’t expect this to secretly be a so-called childcare anime, but I’m digging it. I’m looking forward to them growing ever closer together. Sosuke is slowly but surely becoming a doting dad.

larana1192

 >3000 yen is like $20 In Gifu minimum wage is 950 JPY(6.21 USD) so for homeless person like Livia this is not a bad job

NekoCatSidhe

Poor Puriketsu. The problem is that she has talent and motivation but her friends did not. Looks like Livia might be joining her band next, I hope they will have more success like that. Maybe Sara and her funny songs can join too, lol. Poor Livia got into trouble again, working for a reseller. She was smart enough to ask questions, but not knowledgeable enough to understand what kind of scam that was. I doubt she is going to trust that blonde guy again after this, although I don’t think resellers are as evil as Sara makes it sound.

Prankishmanx21

Resellers are 100% scum of the earth.

NotLink

Is Liva not the real MC? Seem like most the plot/events happen around her

sussywanker

Absolutely loving this anime!!! ❤️❤️ I really hope this gets a second season.

kalirion

Honestly, if scalping makes the homeless life a bit more livable, I have no problems with that.

1832vin

where is this anime going...?? is this just a SOL?

CadornaTactics

Soon to be a girl band anime? I thought it was about detectives and salads. Kinda hints directions but goes nowhere.

djthomp

Puriketsu clearly needs a new roommate so I was waiting all episode for her and Livia to make some arrangement, no such luck. Maybe next week since she's in the PV for it too. Still annoys me a bit that they're not more than forceful in convincing Livia to sleep inside away from the elements, especially going into winter. Sure she made the choice herself but given how willing she was to commit suicide on Sara's word I bet Sara could also convince her to couch surf. Animation was definitely a bit off today, but at least it was well timed for Sara's crazy dance song.

aquaticshrimp

Livia really carries this show. It should be recalled "my life in another world as a homeless woman"

iozoepxndx

This anime should be called "Livia's homeless shenanigans in another world" ☠️

FlameDragoon933

it's not often we get isekai where the immigrant doesn't get cheat power fantasy, so it's a fresh air LOL

Infodump_Ibis

- [Facetime bathtime.](https://imgur.com/3dGR4z5) - They have TVs in sauna rooms in public bath houses now? - [As the saying goes: there's such thing as a free breakfast in Gifu.](https://imgur.com/yWSBtsh) Apparently buying a drink and getting free food was the origin of the "free lunch" which lead thje the phrase No such thing as a free lunch. - [1](https://imgur.com/NrQ2drm) [2](https://imgur.com/x9s490T) [3](https://imgur.com/3NcEIto) [4](https://imgur.com/6Pmvyr5). Probably deliberate as the shots before were webcomic style.

larana1192

The mecha she bought is probably a parody of Nightingale from novel version of "Mobile suit Gundam Char's Counter Attack"(a.k.a. Beltorchika Children). The pilot of Nightingale is *Char Aznable* however his real name is *Casval Rem Deikun* so this is why store clerk thought Livia is legit Gundam fan who really want to buy Gundam plastic model.

Such_Selection9762

Honestly those wacky karaoke scene reminded me a lot about Sana from Kodomo no Omocha - kinda weird but fun.

oneevilchicken

Im really not a fan of the split storylines going on with this show right now. I wish Livia would have stayed around with the pair.

raevnos

So I guess I'm watching two shows this season featuring economics lectures.

junaidd09

What's the other one?

raevnos

Spice Wolf

junaidd09

Thanks.

SogePrinceSama

It is now official. Livia is the main character of this anime. And I'm 100% here for it.

VTuberFadeaway

This show just goes off into whatever random direction it feels like huh. Not that I'm complaining. It's fun as hell.

Ecepbr

is the cabbage song an actually song?

Yuki173

Bump That's what we want to know as well.

kirvedx

So I've decided I want to marry Livia. Let's all find a time and place to fight over her. Seriously, though, I feel like it's a little unfair and kinda f#@$ed up; I mean in any other story the princess would drop her privilege, devote herself to the one person in the world who'd follow her anywhere, and it'd be like a 'both of them choose to be homeless because dude A doesn't want either, but will only take 1 if guilt-tripped" kind of story. Like, if I was the princess, I'd have gone out of my way to take care of Livia, or at least keep by her side. On that note, that's what went through my head as she's being played by horrible people and living homeless - as we see princess well taken care of pulling up on a bicycle and nonchalantly going 'yo, how ya been'. ...Uh, girl, a few days ago you were being assaulted in a royal succession dispute and left your world - cuz this girl you "how ya been'n" literally fended off a group of murderers and "sacrificed" herself for you. Really wondering how they are planning to drive the Livia bit forward here. Mr Detective is so not doing what I would have done.

Express-Day5234

I do generally agree with this. The author wants Livia to have comedic homeless adventures but has inadvertently made Sosuke and Sara look like jerks in the process. But to be fair to the characters Sara probably doesn’t really know how hard Livia has it. In her world people like Livia could probably just become bodyguards or mercenaries to support themselves. Sara is also a child of privilege so despite her open mindedness she has some blind spots. And Sosuke can’t really make another adult do anything they don’t want to and if Sara isn’t going to press the issue then he has no real standing to do so either.

tripleaamin

As usual the episode was hilarious, but man half of this episode being a literal slideshow just makes me wonder how much funnier if it had the usual decent animation. From Sara's performance to Sara lecturing Liva about the evils of Resellers would have been better for me since the slideshow choice took me out of it. Regarding the episode we got to see Livia meet up with Asumi who worked at the Sex Club with her. And she is a talented aspiring musician, but the issue being that the rest of her bandmates have quit. Maybe Livia will attempt to join the band. But looks like Livia has a new job and didn't realize how evil resellers are as Sara pointed out. Well to be fair how the guy worded it sounded fine, but Sousuke outlined what really happens. Once you experience the tragedy of an item you want, but you will never get without paying resellers a ridiculous increase in price, you will have a hatred for them. Curious if Sousuke and Sara will have a case of them tackling a case involving them.

IceSmiley

I didn't watch this expecting such a scathing critique of reselling/scalping! Livia being "sentenced" to death was the best laugh of the episode 🤣 I also wondered how Sara came up with that weird song she sang. I wonder if she made it up out of whole cloth or the background music they selected was incredibly similar to a popular song from her world about cabbage 🤔

ModieOfTheEast

So was I the only one expecting Sarah to do a full on karaoke version of a Conan-Opening? You know, the one with the weird dance. But the actual song took me by surprise, not going to lie.

oxlemf10

Today we learned a little about the market and economic laws, and also that Priketsu has the potential to be an idol

Yuki173

Is Sarah's Lettuce and Cabbage song based on an actual song? My fiancé & I rewatched that scene like 4+ times. I'd like to buy the original or download the short clip if possible.

FelixAndCo

Have to confess I had binged the previous episodes, and had no idea who all the side characters were. Feel like "scalper" would have been a more appropriate translation.

ObvsThrowaway5120

I like Puriketsu. I hope the girl can make her dreams of going pro a reality. Maybe she can form a band with Livia. That ought to get her away from that sketchy blonde dude and his shady jobs.

Zheitk

My new top cutest, funniest and saddest [anime moment](https://imgur.com/QXbYYkX) [Livia sneezing under a bridge](https://imgur.com/tXURWLY)

avboden

That moment when this show becomes a better music anime than all the actual music anime this season. seriously the others have like, NO music in them.
