It’s weird, while it has some of the most brutal violence against Nazis in media, there’s also something weirdly fetishistic and quirky about how it portrays them sometimes. And that’s not even counting stuff like how Schrodinger's canonical origin is Hitler r**ping a cat girl the nazi scientist character made in a hentai doujin the author made before Hellsing.
I think a big problem is that, if anything, the Nazis had aesthetics down. And I'm not even talking about the usual "UwU SS uniforms" or propaganda things, but even just accidentally. The Tiger, Panther, Tiger II, Me 262, Stg 44, Bismarck class, etc. all looked absolutely fantastic and badass, without any clear reason as to why.
Because of this, you really need to make an effort to mock Nazis and portray them as the complete idiots they are and were at every step, or otherwise you'll risk a 10 second clip of your series being used in a "Based nationalist phonk mix #1488". However, bumbling idiots rarely make for compelling villains
It’s also down to the fact that the Nazis in hellsing (as far as I remember) never actually express any genocidal or racist/bigoted views or really do any of the things actual Nazis did aside from starting a war. They’re basically just a rogue military death cult built for the sole purpose of killing everyone including themselves. Which is, to be fair, partly an aspect of fascism but it definitely takes more than just that to make a fascist. Basically the Hellsing Nazis are only nazis to make them instant identifiable villains (and because Kouta Hirano has some sort of weird nazi fetish)
When I check out the “embrace masculinity” brainrot I get recommended for watching fitness content on YouTube and half the profile pictures in the comment section are angwy guts
Guts is the single most attractive man I have ever laid my eyes on. I saw this meme about a year ago which involved Guts picking up a condom and saying it's for his magnum dong.
