Is Vinland saga really that good? Watched the first episode but couldn't really get into it. My top 5 are steins gate, demon slayer, death note, aot and edgerunner in that order.
To be frank I would defend Vinland saga over AoT anyday....
1) AoT ending felt like a cheaper code geass ending
2) I found eren annoying, it's a personal taste

I know it's good. Have heard a lot of praise and my friend recommends it too. It's just that the first episode felt a little slow paced which is not something I prefer. Is the rest of the anime also slow paced?
I didn't feel the pacing to be slow but watch 3 episodes, if you didn't like it drop the anime. Watch something you truly enjoy

I haven't watched monogatari yet I mainly have jus seen clips of the protag groping minors. So I don't know much about it but mushoku tensei basically glorifies pedophilia.
Yeah watched mushoku sensei, it was a fun watch for the most part but the pedophilia part was really uncomfortable to go through. It does glorify it, Rudus knows he is an adult, he even thinks like an adult but even after that he still indulges with children is gross af. The insane focus on sexualizing children in the anime only shows that they are aiming for gross otakus or shut-ins as their main audience.
I will defend mushoku tensei till the day I die , that show is fucking awesome , and has the best story ever writen , it's the only anime that as made me read the light novel, anyone who shits on the series because it's "problematic" will never experience true happiness and joy in their lives.
Also , those who say it glorifies pedophile' are just wrong and haven't even watched the series , rudeus is ment to be gross in the initial parts, because in the latter parts it shows how much he's grown since his early days , if you still don't get what I'm talking bout then read the light novel , you will understand what I'm talking about.
Monster. I fell in love with plot only 2-3 episodes in. Although I have some mixed feelings about the ending but I will keep defending this show. Some people think death note is the best psychological anime but after watching monster, i will say monster is way superior than death note. I am not into psychological stuff but these two are the only animes in that genre that I have watched and loved it.

i have been a long time Gundam hater. I got into mecha with various anime but Evangellon influenced me the most. i watched it in 2021 lockdown which were the most miserable parts of my life so far as i cut all my ties with freinds and family for jee , whome i just was warming up to then i couldn't keep connections with old friends who went the other way, those who spoke daily with me , shared our tiffins for the last half decade straight , suddenly stopped even texting me. on top of that i had family issues too.
so Neon genesis evangalleion really struck a chord with me. i still think about that last ending and the congratulations scene.
it serves as a reminder of me to uphold my values , be kind to everyone without exception and having a healthy social life.
sorry i carried off. but yes i will defend eva for that. but on to gundam , idk why i hated it , i just saw a video where someone mentioned that eva was a fresh air to the endless sea of gundam anime made to sell toys
and that is what i dismissed gundam as , cheap anime with bland story produced to sell toys.
boy was i wrong. i started gundam last year and now it has become one of my favorite franchises till this day. and i'll defend this series too alongside eva.
I would argue that gundum "toys" Known as gunpla are toys, gunpla are a kind of hobby in southeast Asia for men, they are like more advanced and cooler lego, but you changed and that's great (bc koi gunpla dilwado salla khali internet pe dekha hai)
Tbh, after gundam there were lots of realistic mecha anime started to appear in the industry like blue comet layzner, Armored trooper votoms as well as new super robot shows,
gundam wasn't really created as a toy selling anime at first but it became later with time, so much so the creator of gundam started to hate the series, and if I remember correctly it is the same reason why he started making giant spaceships which look like scifi bikes and mechs which move only by one wheel.
He made his peace with the series only after turn a gundam.

I won't call gundam a transformer wannabe, transformable robots came later in the series after z gundam nor there are any living robots, if you want a transformers wannabe, then there's yuusha/brave series but both IP's have their differences

Attack on titan and Vinland saga

Fr man, I am tired of seeing all these post of people acting like AOT is the best story to be ever written or something, it’s far from it.
True that like many stories before it takes inspiration from others but this time the source of inspiration felt better than the final product
I assume you are new to anime, take some time. Watch around 25 anime, then you will realise how good Vinland saga is.
